Abstract

　仮想テープライブラリ装置には、物理ドライブのデータを一時的に記憶するキャッシュディスクと、ホストコンピュータとの間でのデータのやり取りを制御する対ホストI/Oサーバと、物理ドライブとの間でのデータのやり取りを制御する対バックエンドI/Oサーバとを備える、このような構成において、仮想テープライブラリ装置は、キャッシュディスクに接続されるインターフェースごとに独立した領域を、キャッシュディスク上に保持し、インターフェースを介して、所定の間隔で保持される領域に所定のデータパターンを書き込み、領域に書き込まれたデータパターンをインターフェースを介して所定の間隔で読み出して、書き込まれたデータパターンと読み出したデータパターンとが一致するか否かを判定し、一致しないと判定された場合に、当該インターフェースを介するデータの送受信において、データの整合性が保証できないと検出する。
