Abstract
The invention relates to a multiple use peg and hanger including said peg. It is formed by means of a third class lever, formed by means of an elastic U-shaped one-piece body, the two side branches of which form the actuation elements of the peg itself and from which respective arms project towards their inside in a substantially orthogonal manner, which arms at their central meeting point cross one another and respective parallel areas forming the holding arms of the mentioned peg are carried out. Said peg can be joined to a hook and form what is usually known as a hanger, the peg carrying out the functions of retaining the garment or object which is held by the pressing action of the holding arms of the peg.
Description
MULTIPLE USE PEG AND HANGER INCLUDING SAID PEG
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention relates to a multiple use peg, the function of which is to hold innumerable products. This gripping function is achieved by means of applying pressure on the arms thereof which press against such products, such as garments, footwear, papers, cardboard, or any other product fitting between the constricting arms of the mentioned peg.
Said peg can also be joined to a hook and form what is usually known as a hanger, the peg carrying out the functions of retaining the garment or object which is held by the pressing action of the holding arms of the peg.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A number of solutions of pressing pegs are known in the state of the art, which pegs are usually formed by three parts, two of which form the arms of the peg and a third one is formed in the elastic connection element for joining the two previous parts. These pegs are usually made of metal, wood or plastic and have been constructed in this manner for a long time with hardly any substantial modifications in their structure.
These pegs follow the principle of first class levers, because the load or resistance and the force or power are each located at one side of the fulcrum or articulation element of the lever. The clearest and simplest example of this type of first class lever is a swing.
Plastic pegs, obtained by plastic injection, have also been increasingly developed, in which this type of pegs are made by means of a one-piece body, i.e. pegs with the principle of first class levers, in which they do not need any element constantly compressing the resistant or pressing area of the pegs due to the elastic nature of the plastic, or are designed such that they incorporate an elastic spring achieving this effect.
European patent document EP-1234068 and also European patent
document EP-0543787 can be emphasized among this type of pegs, in which patent document, in this last embodiment, the area for applying force on the peg has a very small arm, therefore a large force will be required to open the arms of the peg.
European patent document EP-0228325 also relates to a peg formed by a one-piece body, in which flaps of the arms themselves are used to construct the elastic element for recovering the always closed position of the peg.
Spanish utility model ES-U-1 ,048,608 relates to a peg formed by a one-piece body operating under the principle of being a first class lever.
Finally, Spanish utility model ES-U-1 ,029,525 must also be emphasized, in which one of the arms of the peg ends in a hook by way of a hanger, whereby the mentioned peg can be transformed into a peg for holding any product, such as clothes, papers, cardboard, etc.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The peg of the invention is first carried out by means of an elastic U- shaped one-piece body, the two end branches of which form the actuation elements for the peg itself and from which respective arms project towards their inside in a substantially orthogonal manner, which arms at their central meeting point cross one another and respective parallel areas forming the holding arms of the mentioned peg are carried out.
This peg preferably follows the principle of third class levers, in which the force is located between the resistance and the articulation point of the peg, although it could also work under the principle of second class levers if the actuation arms of the peg in which the force is applied are longer and therefore the load or resistance of the peg is located between the force and the articulation point.
The arms forming the holding element of the peg are preferably flattened bodies increasing the retaining surface of said peg, for which
purpose such arms can include a series of retaining appendages locked on the part to be held, preventing the garment or object from sliding from the peg body. These retaining appendages can be projections, grooves or rough surfaces facilitating the retention of the pegs on the hung objects.
The side branches of the U-shaped body subjected to the force for opening the peg end in an ergonomic shape, making it easier for the user to use the peg.
For the purpose of strengthening the peg body, this main body can be designed as a U-shaped body with a continuous rib strengthening the mentioned body, conferring thereto a considerably high strength which will give rise to a longer duration of the mentioned peg because the elastic movement of the arms involves forcing the peg and therefore destroying it in the event that the part has not been perfectly designed.
Since the holding arms of the mentioned peg cross one another, the movement for bringing the actuation arms of the U-shaped body closer together will cause the holding arms of the peg to separate and vice versa, although this opposite movement is achieved by the elastic recovery of the plastic material from which the peg body is made.
Fixed or moving coupling means are included preferably on the peg body though not limited to this position, which means are used as a possible connection of hooks in the form of hangers, transforming the peg into a hanger with a peg or pegs which allows hanging a garment and at the same time retaining the garment by means of the arms of the mentioned peg or pegs.
This hook body can be simple, i.e. the retaining means which will connect the retaining appendage which the peg itself is provided at the end of the arched body of the hook, or the mentioned hook extends in two or more arms which can each include retaining means in which the aforementioned peg bodies are hooked.
An embodiment variant of the invention provides the construction of
holding arms of the peg, forming a certain angle. This angle is usually between 1 and 30°.
The hook-shaped arched appendage can also be constructed such that it is inclined with respect to the plane of the peg.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complete the description which is being made and with the aim of aiding to better understand the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to this specification as an integral part thereof, in which the following has been shown with an illustrative and non-limiting character:
Figure 1 shows a plan view of the peg of the invention. Figure 2 shows an embodiment variant of the peg including an end holding appendage of a hanger hook.
Figure 3 shows a view of the actuation of the peg body and how the holding arms of the peg open by means of pressing the actuation arms.
Figure 4 shows the embodiment variant of a simple hanger formed by a hook-shaped arched appendage and a peg body.
Figure 5 shows a variant of the previous figure in which the hanger body is divided into two arms on which respective peg bodies are held.
Figure 6 shows a constructive detail with regard to the inclination of the holding arms with respect to the peg body. Figure 7 shows a constructive detail with regard to the inclination of the hook-shaped arched appendage with respect to the peg body.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
The peg object of the invention is configured by means of an elastic U- shaped one-piece body (1 ), the two side branches (3) of which form the actuation elements of the peg itself and from which respective interconnection arms (4) project towards their inside in a substantially orthogonal manner, which arms at their central meeting point cross one another and are carried out in parallel areas forming the holding arms (5) of the mentioned peg.
A rib (6) is internally included for the purpose of strengthening the peg body, which rib is carried out along the inside of the peg, both in the central area conferring the elastic nature to the peg and in the end branches (3). These ribs are used as strengthening means through the interconnection arms and the holding arms (5) of the peg. These holding arms (5) of the peg have on one of their contact faces retaining appendages (9) aiding these arms in fixing the objects.
With regard to these appendages (9), they can be grooves, rough surfaces, projections or retaining elements which generally facilitate the grip of the peg on the body to be held.
Figure 2 shows a variant of the peg, in which a coupling means, such as for example a hook for hanging the peg, is included in its intermediate branch conferring elasticity to the assembly.
Figure 3 shows a depiction in which the fingers of a user bring the side branches (3) of the peg closer together and how due to the crossing of the holding arms (5) of the peg, such arms are separated, facilitating or allowing the entrance therethrough of any object, such as a garment, papers or any other element to be held.
It is clearly shown in Figure 3 that the peg acts by means of the principle of third class levers in which the force is applied between the load or resistance formed by the holding arms (5) of the peg and the fulcrum or articulation element of the lever.
It can be understood that if the side branches (3) of the peg body are extended and surpass the holding arms of the peg, the latter would be transformed into a second class lever, its use also being feasible, although when such side branches are extended, they can interfere with the action of the holding arms of the peg, making it lose effectiveness and impossible to be actuated from the end opposite to that of the holding arms (5) of the peg, as it would be normally used.
Figure 4 shows one of the multiple embodiments which can be carried
out with the peg (1 ) of the invention and how an arched appendage (10) is joined on the coupling means (7), which appendage forms a hanger which is hung on suitable means such as a closet rod, and how the peg body (1 ) can hold the desired garment or object between the holding arms (5). The coupling means (7) between the peg and the arched appendage (10) are rotating and allow the relative positioning between them.
Figure 5 is a variant of a multiple hanger, in which the hook (10) forms part of a hanger body with two side arms (11 ) and from the ends or end areas thereof there emerge connection elements for the connection to the coupling means (7) of the peg bodies (1 ). With this solution, a hanger is provided which at the same time is useful as an element for holding a jacket by means of arms (11 ) and the same hanger can hold trousers by means of the two peg bodies (1 ) placed on the ends of the hanger.
These coupling means (7) are joined to the peg body such that they facilitate the relative rotation of one on the other and allow the rotating movement of the peg without affecting the placement of the hook-shaped arched appendage (10).
Figure 6 shows a front view of the peg body (1 ), showing the interconnection arms (4) giving rise at their ends to the holding arms (5), which are inclined an angle α with respect to the perpendicular plane of the peg (1 ), this angle being comprised between 1 and 30° and useful for correcting the natural angle of deviation the product experiences when it is hung from the peg, the product to be hung thus being perfectly straight without experiencing angular variations.
Figure 7 finally shows a constructive form of the hook-shaped arched appendage (10) and how such body is arranged rotated an angle β, correcting the angle in which the hanger deviates by itself when it is hung from the hanging rod or the rotation of the product when it is hung from the hanger body (1 ). This angle is the precise angle for correcting this deviation and can be comprised between 1 and 30°.
