Description
ZIP COATING METHOD AND MACHINE Related Art
The invention relates to coating of the outer surfaces of the threads of the zips manufactured in chain as fixed onto the fabric. The invention particularly relates to method of coating all threads of the zip by use of current coating technique impacting all threads of the zip, and zip coating machine used in coating.
Background of the Related Art
As known zips are practical parts used in textile sector commonly to close open areas. The zips usually contain threads made of brass, nickel and similar metal materials. They are also manufactured from plastic and similar materials.
In the present art, the thread surface of the zips manufactured in chain form and fixed onto fabrics are colored, that is coated, by means of forming into bowstring or processing at a dipping machine by use of non-flowing chemicals. Although their threads are metal, conducting is not provided since there is no direct contact. When current is applied the said zip thread, full conducting cannot be obtained and therefore loss in about medium part of the said zip occurs, and painting and coating operation may not be completed.
For that reason, it is not possible to conduct current coating operation. When the said operation is conducted without current, the required thickness in micron is not obtained and guarantee for durability and destructions can not be possible. Discoloring may occur after a short time of use and the worst coating color may cause marks or may stick onto the fabric.
The utility model application numbered TR 2000 03667 U in Turkish Patent Institute reads as The invention relates to zip not containing nickel'; the researches made in the world have discovered that the zips made of nickel contain carcinogen agent and have allergic effects. Instead, brass zips are subjected to a special chemical mixture and nickel appearance zips are obtained."
The said application contains an application related to obtaining nickel color by use of dipping the brass zip into a chemical mixture. However, dipping procedure fails to eliminate the above mentioned disadvantages.
An improvement in zip coating method has been sought to eliminate the above mentioned disadvantages.
Purpose of the Invention
From this condition of the related art, the purpose of the invention is to provide current coating and thus ensure full penetration of current chemicals onto zip threads. Another purpose of the invention is to provide durability of the zip upon fixing onto textile, leather, shoes and similar products and following washing and to prevent marking of coating on the fabric.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide long life of use as a result of coating of zip threads by use of current technique. Another purpose of the invention is to prevent loss in visual attractiveness of the zip by help of current technique to coat zip and thus prevent poor appearance.
In order to achieve the said purposes, conducting bobbins are located in current coating machine to provide the conductivity of the zip threads.

The said zip coating machine (1 ) consists of main parts of pool of chemicals (1.1), main body (1.2), cathode bar (2), anode bar (3) and conducting bobbin (4).
The said cathode bar (2) (negative loaded bar), is connected to cathode conducting bar (2.1 ) by means of a connection apparatus (2.2) on the said main body (1.2). The cathode conducting bar (2.1) transmits the negative load received from cathode bar (2) to conducting bobbin (4) via conducting bobbin cylinder (4.1).
The pool of chemicals (1.1) located inside the said zip coating machine (1 ) accommodates paint chemicals giving color to zip threads (5.1 ) and the said conducting bobbins (4).
The main body (1.2) surrounding the pool of chemicals (1.1) is also positioned as the location wherein the said cathode bar (2), anode bar (3), cathode conducting bar (2.1) and anode conducting bar (3.1) are located. The said anode bar (3) (positive loaded bar) conducts its positive load to the anode conducting bar (3.1 ) located on each edge of the pool of chemicals (1.1). Anode conducting bar (3.1) is in contact with chemical dye inside the pool of chemicals (1.1) but does not contact cathode conducting bars (2.1).
The said chemical dye is located in the pool of chemicals (1.1 ) homogeneously. The chemical dye and anode plates in the color wished to paint and/or coat the zip thread (5.1) is used.
Coating operation of the said zip threads (5) is started with the step of input of the zip (5) into zip conducting bobbin (6) on the main body (1.2). The said zip conducting bobbin (6) is located in parallel to conducting bobbins (4). Zip conducting bobbins (6) providing feeding the zip (5) properly in the conducting bobbins (4) is made of a conducting material and thus electric conduction is provided and also it can be made of insulating materials only to provide housing for the zip (5).
The zip threads (5.1) located on the zip fed to conducting bobbins (4) via zip conducting bobbin (6) are in direct contact with the said conducting bobbins (4). The negative load applied onto cathode bar (2) by a power supply reaches to cathode conducting bar (2.1 ) firstly and then to conducting bobbin (4) through bobbin cylinder (4.1). Since the conducting bobbin (4) having negative load is always in contact with zip thread (5.1), it transmits the said negative load to the zip thread (5.1). The said bobbin cylinder (4.1) transmits the negative load to conducting bobbin (4) as well as rotates the conducting bobbin (4).
On the other hand, the positive load given to anode bar (3) is transmitted to anode conducting bar (3.1 ) which is simultaneously in contact with pool of chemicals (1.1). Thus, the chemical dyes located inside the pool of chemicals (1.1) are loaded with positive load from anode conducting bar (3.1).
The said zip thread (5.1) is coated with the paint with the reaction between the zip thread (5.1) loaded with negative load and chemical dye loaded with positive load. The load flow between the said chemical dye and zip thread (5.1) ensures that the zip thread (5.1) takes the color of the dye inside the pool of chemicals (1.1).
Since the zip thread (5.1) is in direct contact with conducting bobbin (4), full conductivity is provided and chemical dye involves in reaction only in places where such conductivity is provided. Thus, the areas of the zip other than those required to be painted are not painted.
The driving of the said zip coating machine (1) is provided by any driving machine, and cathode and anode bars (2, 3) can receive the load from any power supply.
In a different embodiment of the invention, the textile part of the said zip (5) can also be coated by use of a chemical providing conductivity.
The invention cannot be limited to representative applications given under this part. Any alternative embodiments that can be developed by skilled persons in the related art on basis of basic factors under protection scope of the claims shall mean violation of this invention.
