Abstract

Disclosed is a magnesium hydroxide powder which is composed of spherical secondary particles composed of scale-like primary particles and having an average particle size of 1.0-4.8 μm, while having a BET specific surface area of 1-10 m2/g. This magnesium hydroxide powder is low in moisture absorption, and suitably used as a flame retardant for resins.
