Abstract

A position detecting system with high accuracy, which uses the rest determination of a mobile station is provided. In the mobile station, a frame identifying means provides frame identification information and a rest determining means determines whether or not the mobile station is at rest to issue a signal including at least the frame identification information and the result by the rest determining means. In base stations, a base station information transmitting means transmits base station information composed of at least a base station identification number, the received frame identification information, and distance-related informationby a distance-related information measuring means to a positioning server. In the positioning server, if the mobile station is at rest, a distance-related information measurement error computing means computes a distance-related information measurement error from the base station information, a weighting matrix computing means computes a weighting matrix from the distance-related information measurement error, and a positioning means computes the position of the mobile station from the distance-related information and the weighting matrix.
