Abstract

 本発明は、単純な構成で、広い屈折率範囲において被測定媒質の屈折率を感度よく計測できる光ファイバセンサを提供することを目的とする。本発明は、ブラッググレーティング(9)が形成されたコア(4)及びクラッド(5)の部分でクラッド伝搬モードの漏洩による透過損失が生じるようにした光ファイバ(1)と、クラッド伝搬モードの波長帯域の光を光ファイバ(1)に入射する光源(2)と、ブラッググレーティング(9)が形成された位置のコア(4)及びクラッド(5)を経た光の透過光あるいは反射光を受ける受光部(3)とを備え、受光部(3)が受ける総受光強度に基づき、クラッド(5)に接する被測定媒質の屈折率を検出する光ファイバセンサであって、ブラッググレーティング(9)は、光ファイバ(1)の長手方向の垂直線に対し所定の傾斜角度を有している。
