Description

SCRAPING DEVICE FOR AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT
Technical area
The present invention relates to a scraping device for agricultural implement according to the ingress of Claim 1. The invention also relates to a scraping tool according to the ingress of Claim 8. In addition, the invention relates to an agricultural implement according to Claim 9.
Background of the invention
The European patent application EP-A-150999 shows and describes a scraping device of the initially mentioned type. A problem with scraping devices of this type is that soil, stones and plant residues have a tendency to clump together around the scraping tools, which can lead to scraping being less effective since the scraping tools can e.g. be pushed wholly or partly away from the surface that is to be scraped. It is also possible for the entire roller package to be braked and even to become locked, with a considerably impaired tillage result as a consequence. In addition, there has been a problem with fastening of the adjustable scraping tools for such a scraping device, since the adjustable tools have a tendency to alter their position during work due to the strong stresses that exist in this environment.
Aim of the invention
The aim of the present invention is to achieve a scraping device for agricultural implement, which eliminates the above mentioned disadvantage.
This aim is achieved through a scraping device that has been given the characteristics presented in Claim 1. A further aim is to achieve a scraping tool for a scraping device, which eliminates the above mentioned disadvantage.
This aim is achieved through a scraping tool that has been given the characteristics presented in Claim 8.
Preferred embodiments of the invention have been given the characteristics presented in the sub-claims.
Summary of the invention
The placement of the carrying arm behind the roll surface of one of the rings does not prevent scraped material from being transported away from the roller package and falling to the ground behind the agricultural implement. By arranging the scraping tools in pairs on either side of the carrying arms, a uniform load is obtained.
A scraping device with two scraping tools, one on each side of the carrying arm, is preferable, even though a scraping device with four tools or more, always with equal number of scraping tools on each side of the carrying arm, is cheaper. The scraping device with two scraping tools gives a more uniform load against the roller package.
Through the shape of the scrape tools the entire device is in an easy way adjustable at mounting of the scraping tools against the roller package. Furthermore a firm binding is achieved against the holder at the lower, tool-carrying end of the carrying arm.
Drawing summary
The invention is described in more detail in the following with reference to the attached drawings, which show preferred embodiments:
Fig. 1 shows a partial perspective view of a roller package at an agricultural implement where a first embodiment of scraping devices according to the invention have been mounted by means of a first variant of fastening and support scraping tools according to the invention. Fig. 2 shows a view from the rear of the roller package with the scraping devices with scraping tools in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of the scraping devices with scraping tools according to the invention of the type shown in Figs. 1 and 2 on a larger scale with a second variant of fastening before mounting on the agricultural implement, whereby one scraping device with scraping tools is shown as an exploded diagram. Fig. 4 shows a plane view of the scraping devices with scraping tools in Fig 3 where the parts shown in the exploded diagram in Fig. 3 have been attached.
Fig. 5 shows a partial plane view of another embodiment of a scraping device with scraping tools according to the invention, which has been mounted against a ring package in an agricultural implement.
Detailed description of a preferred embodiment
Similar parts in the different embodiments in the description and in the drawings have been given the same reference numbers.
Fig. 1 and 2 show an agricultural implement with a first embodiment of a plurality of scraping devices 1 according to the invention, which abut against a roller package 2 consisting of a number of roller rings. The roller package can consist of so-called packer wheels preferably of an elastomer material or a metal or combined packer and transport wheels preferably of an elastomer material.
The scraping devices 1 are, in mounted form, at the upper end fast-screwed on a crossbeam 3, which in its turn is suspended in frame-parts 4 of the agricultural implement's frame 5 arranged on either side of the roller package 2. The roller package 2 is journalled in bearings 6 on the frame-parts 4. Protrusions 7 on the frame carry one of the ends of adjustment devices 8 intended for setting the working depth of not shown working tools on the agricultural implement, such as seed coulters or cultivator tines. Each scraping device 1 comprises a carrying arm 9, a holder 10 and scraping tools 11 according to the invention. The carrying arm 9 is mounted on the cross-beam 3 by means of a fastening 12a, which can be achieved in a range of different ways. Each fastening 12a can as in the agricultural implement according to Fig. 1 and 2 or according to Fig. 5 support a single carrying arm, but they can also support several carrying arms, such as two carrying arms 9 at the agricultural implement according to Fig. 3 and 4.
Fig. 3 and 4 show a scraping device 1 with scraping tools 11 according to the invention on a larger scale. Two scraping devices 1 are mounted on a shared fastening 12b and here each comprise a carrying arm 9 and a tool-carrying part in the form of a holder 10 and two scraping tools 11. Both carrying arms 9 are mountable on a not shown cross-beam, such as the cross-beam 3 in Fig. 1 and 2, by means of fastening 12b adapted for two carrying arms. A similar fastening 12b is adapted for a special roller package so that the carrying arms at linkage are disposed behind the roll path of a ring each, so that the scraping tools 11 are arranged in the spaces between each ring in the roller package. The fastening 12b in Fig 3 and 4 differs from the fastening 12a in Fig. 1 and 2 in that with the embodiment in Fig. 3 and 4 the fastening 12b carries two scraping devices 1, while with the embodiment in Fig. 1 and 2 one fastening carries one single scraping device 1. The main issue is that an equal number of scraping tools 11 are arranged on each side of each carrying arm 9 at the scraping devices 1 and that no work tool 11 for scraping between the rings in the roller package is arranged in the extension of the carrying arm 9. A hole 13 is however excised in the centre portion of the holder 10 for eventual linkage of a smaller, not shown tool, which is intended to only scrape the roll surface of the ring in the roller package 2 behind which the carrying arm is arranged.
The holder 10 comprises an in the carrying arm 9 attachable binder portion 13, which has a base part 14 and two wall parts 15 and 16 arranged on either side of the base part 14 and bent or shaped towards the carrying arm, so that the end portion of the carrying arm 9 can rest in the trough formed by the base part and the wall parts. A hole 17 is excised in the base part 14 and a corresponding hole 18 is excised in the carrying arm for binding the same by means of a nut and bolt fastening 19a,b. One of the holes 17 or 18 could be designed as a slit for adjusting of the holder 10 in relation to the carrying arm 9. The holder 10 also has a centre portion 20 attached to the binder portion 13 at a predetermined angle with a hole 21 for an additional not shown scraping device intended to only scrape the roll surface of the ring in the roller package 2, behind which the carrying arm 9 is arranged. In this way soil or plant residues, which may have fastened in front of the carrying arm 9 can be removed. On either side of the centre portion 20 side portions 22 and 23 are arranged on the holder 10. The side portions 22, 23 also each have a base part 24, 25 and side wall parts 26a,b and 27a,b so that each side portion creates a shape, which is adapted to the shape of a trough, which has been formed by a base part 28 and wall parts 29 of a recess 30 in the scraping tool 11. In the base part 28 of the recess 30 in the tool 11 a longitudinal slit 31 is excised for adjusting the position of the tools in relation to the carrying arms 9. A hole 32 is excised in the base parts 24, 25 of the side portions 22, 23 of the holder 10. A nut and bolt fastening 33a, b is arranged through the slit 31 and the hole 32 in order to adjustably fasten the tool 11 at the holder 10. It is also possible for the hole to be excised in the tool 11 and the slit in the side portions of the holder 10. The recess 30 is formed with a wall to the front so that the side portions of the holder lie somewhat protected therein so as not to be brought out of position by soil, stones and plant residues that are scraped from the roller package.
The fore edge 34 of the scraping tool 11 is suitably formed to pass between two rings in a roller package 2 (see Fig. 1 and 2).
The fastening 12b comprises two fastening portions 35 and 36, which are joined by means of a rib 37, the length of which is adapted to the distribution of the rings in the roller package 2. With a not shown refinement the rib is split and consists of two fastenable rib parts adjustable in relation to each other. This can for example be arranged with the help of slits, holes and nut and bolt fastenings. Each fastening portion 35, 36 has flanges 37, 38 each with a hole 39, 40 adapted to the shape of the carrying arm 9 and an angled part 41, 42 provided with a hole 43, 44. A hole 45 for fastening is also excised at the upper end of each carrying arm 9. A nut and bolt fastening 46a,b, 47a,b can be threaded through the holes 45 in the carrying arms and the holes 43, 44 in the fastening 12b so as to screw fast the fastening 12b in a cross-beam on the agricultural implement, such as the cross-beam 3 in Fig. 1 and 2.
Fig. 5 shows an embodiment where the holder 10a is so shaped that it supports two tools on each side portion 48, 49. The shape of the side portions corresponds to the shape of the side portions of the holder 10 according to Fig. 1 - 4. The difference is that these side portions are elongated and have each two portions arranged at a predetermined distance from each other shaped section intended to be received in the recesses 30 in the tools 11. The carrying arm 9 is mounted at the middle of the holder 10a as in the other above- described embodiments of holder 10. The number of tools 11 and carrying arms 9 in a set can be varied within the framework of the patent claims, but the carrying arm or carrying arms must always be able to be placed and fixed in front of one or more rings resp. in a roller package.
At mounting of the scraping device and scraping tools according to the invention the carrying arms 9 are first fixed on the cross-beam 3, whereafter the scraping tools are pushed forwards towards the roller package and are thereafter fixed in position on the holders 10, 10a. In this way it is achieved that all scraping tools 11 are disposed at the same distance from or abut equally strongly against the roller package 2. After a period of driving the scraping tools 11 can loosen somewhat from the holders 10, 10a on the carrying arms 9 and the same procedure is repeated, i.e. the tools are pushed in towards the roller package and refixed. The tools can thereby work equally effectively along the extension of the roller package independent of either wear of the rings or tools or of one of the tools loosening after prior fixing.
The invention can naturally also be applied on agricultural implements other than that shown in the drawings.
Although one embodiment of the invention has been described above, the device according to the invention can be modified within the framework of the attached claims.
