Abstract

 この発明は、上記のような課題を解決するためになされたもので、系外への燃料ガスの無駄な排出を抑えつつ、アノード側ガス流路内の不純物質を排出することができる燃料電池システムを提供することを目的とする  燃料電池のアノード側ガス流路下流側端部に、排気弁を接続する。排気弁は、アノード側ガス流路内での燃料ガスの消費量に比較して微小量のガスを系外へ排気する排気モードを備える。燃料電池の発電停止要求の後、燃料電池の出力電流値を所定値まで増大する。そして、遅くとも前述の出力電流値の増大時までに排気弁を排気モードとし、当該出力電流値の増大に応じて排気弁の排気流量を増加する。
