Abstract

 画像のサイズの変更を画像劣化を伴わず、しかも装置の大型化を抑制することができる画像表示装置を提供すること。  ドットクロック毎に読み出される画像信号に応じた光束を生成して出射する光束生成器と、光束を2次元走査することにより画像を表示する光走査部とを有し、光束生成器における光束の出射タイミングを変更して、表示する画像のサイズを変更する。この光束生成器における光束の出射タイミングの変更は、ドットクロックの周期を変更することによって行われる。
