Abstract

　本発明は、被密封流体が高圧な回転装置においても、簡単かつ高精度に規定値通りの組み付けが可能なシャフトシール装置を提供する。端面リップシール１０４において、突出リップ１０５の付け根部分の直径Ｄ１をシャフト１０２と嵌合している嵌合部１０６の内径Ｄ２よりも大きく形成する。これにより背端面１０４ｂ側から突出リップ１０５方向に作用する外力Ｆ１’と、突出リップ１０５側から背端面１０４ｂ方向に作用する外力Ｆ１とを平衡させることができ、端面リップシール１０４は軸方向に移動せず組み付け位置に維持される。従って、端面リップシール１０４を固定環１０３と同じハウジング１０１の基準面１０１ｂを基準として組み付けることができ、固定環１０３と端面リップシール１０４との相対的な位置を高精度に設計値通りとすることができる。
