Abstract

 本発明は、被密封流体が高圧な回転装置においても、簡単かつ高精度に規定値通りの組み付けが可能なシャフトシール装置を提供する。端面リップシール104において、突出リップ105の付け根部分の直径D1をシャフト102と嵌合している嵌合部106の内径D2よりも大きく形成する。これにより背端面104b側から突出リップ105方向に作用する外力F1’と、突出リップ105側から背端面104b方向に作用する外力F1とを平衡させることができ、端面リップシール104は軸方向に移動せず組み付け位置に維持される。従って、端面リップシール104を固定環103と同じハウジング101の基準面101bを基準として組み付けることができ、固定環103と端面リップシール104との相対的な位置を高精度に設計値通りとすることができる。
