Abstract

The noise produced during operation is reduced by reducing occurrence of flow sound of refrigerant. A refrigerating apparatus (1) uses a supercritical refrigerant and operates in range of a high pressure higher than the critical pressure. The refrigerating apparatus (1) comprises a compressor (21), gas coolers (23, 31), expansion mechanisms (V2, V5), evaporators (31, 23), discharge pressure detecting means (P1, T2, T3), and a control section (5). The compressor compresses a supercritical refrigerant. The gas coolers cool the supercritical refrigerant compressed by the compressor. The expansion mechanisms reduce the pressure of the supercritical refrigerant. The evaporators evaporate the supercritical refrigerant the pressure of which has been reduced by the expansion mechanisms. The discharge pressure detecting means detect the discharge pressure of the compressor. The control section makes a control to adjust the openings of the expansion mechanisms so that the discharge pressure may be above the supercritical pressure when the discharge pressure is below the supercritical pressure when the refrigerator is started.
