Description

Description
A TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION VEHICLE FOR COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS TUBES
[ 1 ] Field of the Invention
[2] The present invention relates to a mobile gas distribution and tube transport vehicle body which enables safe transport of cylindrical compressed gas tubes with a horizontal arrangement and in a minimum volume.
[3] Background of the Invention
[4] Compressed gas tubes are made of metal, and although they are generally in the shape of a cylinder, they can also be in the form of a sphere or forms between a sphere and a cylinder. The tubes used as casings for compressed natural gas are generally in the form of a tall and slim cylinder.
[5] The said cylindrical tubes, after being filled with pressurized gas in the filling stations, are transported to the dealers by transportation vehicles like trucks. Placement of the tubes in the loading body of the transport vehicle during transportation can be in various ways. In the state of the art, these cylindrical tubes are usually transported upon being arranged in a vertical position in the body of the transport vehicle. For purposes of saving time and cost, these cylindrical tubes are desired to be transported by placing as many as possible in the transport vehicles. For that reason, especially the fat tubes are stacked in the transport vehicles in vertical position and in a plurality of layers on top of each other.
[6] As the tubes are fixed on the vehicle, the natural gas distribution can be realized in a mobile fashion. With this vehicle, the aim is to distribute the gas not the tubes. The vehicle is transformed into a mobile gas station via the on- vehicle piping.
[7] However, safe arrangement of especially slim type compressed natural gas tubes into the bodies of the transport vehicles in a plurality of layers is not possible. Furthermore, concerning both fat and slim type cylindrical tubes; in the case that the transport vehicle is not completely full and there are empty areas, the tubes move with the movement of the vehicle and may run into each other or to the body frame. For this reason, transportation process is not safe in such cases.
[8] There are several patent applications aiming to avoid this problem which enable carrying of cylindrical pressurized tubes horizontally and secured to the tube bundles in stations or in various transport vehicles. Examples of the said patent applications are French patent applications No. FR2136216, FR2310285 and FR2367674 and the Hungarian patent application HU183258.
[9] Summary of the Invention [10] The objective of the present invention is to realize a tube transport vehicle body which enables safe transportation of cylindrical compressed gas tubes with horizontal arrangement and in a minimum volume and which allows gas distribution to be made from the vehicle in a mobile fashion. [11] With this purpose, the problems are resolved by realizing a tube transport vehicle body which enables transportation of the tubes in a horizontal arrangement and as secured to the tube bundles. [12] Detailed Description of the Invention
[13] The tube transport vehicle body realized to fulfill the objectives of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures, in which; [14] Figure 1 is the side view of an embodiment of the inventive tube transport vehicle body with two axles comprising three tube bundles. [15] Figure 2 is the side view of an embodiment of the inventive tube transport vehicle body with one axle comprising three tube bundles. [16] Figure 3 is the side view of an embodiment of the inventive tube transport vehicle body with two axles comprising four tube bundles. [17] Figure 4 is the side view of an embodiment of the inventive tube transport vehicle body with three axles comprising five tube bundles. [18] Figure 5 is the perspective view of the tube bundles within the inventive tube transport vehicle body. [19] Figure 6 is the perspective view of the tube bundles within the inventive tube transport vehicle body from an angle allowing the support part to be viewed. [20] Figure 7 is the perspective view of the tube bundles within the inventive tube transport vehicle body from an angle allowing the strap connection to be viewed. [21] The parts in the figures are numbered individually where the numbers refer to the following:
[22] 1. Vehicle loading body
[23] 2. Tube
[24] 3. Strap connection base
[25] 4. Strap
[26] 5. Head
[27] 6. Head holder
[28] 7. Tube bundle
[29] 8. Axle
[30] 9. Empty space
[31] 10. Support
[32] 11. Bolt
[33] 12. Bracket [34] 13. Counter nut
[35] The inventive tube transport vehicle loading body (1) comprises one or more tube bundles (7) each of which consists of one or more strap connection bases (3) on which the tubes (2) are disposed horizontally, a strap (4) tied to the ends of these bases (3) and tightened upon being passed over the tubes (2), supports (11) which are disposed in between the said strap (4) and the tubes (2) so as to prevent movement of the tubes (2), and a head holder (6) to which tubes (2) are connected from their heads (5).
[36] The vehicle loading body (1) has a size allowing placement of desired number of, but preferably three or four tube bundles (7). These tube bundles (7) can be fixed onto the vehicle loading body (1) by means of any method. The loading body (1) is carried on one or two axles (8) in the embodiment where three tube bundles (7) are disposed, and preferably on two axles (8) in the embodiment where four tube bundles (7) are disposed. In the embodiment of the invention with five tube bundles (7), the loading body (1) is carried on three axles (8).
[37] The said tube bundles (7) are disposed on the loading body (1) so as to leave an empty space (9) at least after every two tube bundles (7) with the purpose of providing air circulation between the tubes (2). This empty space (9) is preferably half a meter.
[38] The tubes (2) are arranged on the strap connection bases (3) of each tube bundle (7) horizontally and on top of each other with the heads (5) pointing the same direction. The tubes (2) at each tube (2) layer are placed on the cavities at the points where the tubes (2) of the lower layer touch each other. Thus, maximum number of tubes (2) can be fit into a low volume.
[39] The strap connection bases (3) are preferably two and are arranged far from each other. These bases (3) are made of any resistant material. Preferably two straps (4) pass over the tubes (2) arranged on the strap connection bases (3). The straps (5) are preferably produced from steel and have a structure allowing bending when passing over the tubes (2). Each strap (4) is coupled in a tightened state to the two ends of a strap connection base (3), preferably by means of a hexagon head bolt (11). The hexagon head bolt (11), upon being passed through a bracket (12) welded on the strap connection base (3), is coupled to the strap connection base (3) via counter bolts (13). By means of this connection, the strap (4) reaches the tightness and strength to hold the tubes (2) together.
[40] The gaps which will form in between the straps (4) and the tubes (2) are supported by the supports (10) preferably of rubber material, whose surfaces contacting the tubes (2) are round shaped to ensure conformity with the tubes (2). In this way, movement of the outer tubes (2), due to the gaps formed between them and the strap (4), is prevented and the tubes (2) are secured.
[41] At the side where there are the heads (5) of the horizontally disposed tubes (2), there is provided a head holder (6) including holes to which the tube heads (5) will engage. The said head holder (6) is preferably a plain plate made of metal having a strength by which can not be bent or twisted easily.
[42] The basic principles of the invention are explained in this description. Within the framework of these basic principles, development of various embodiments of the invention is possible. The invention is essentially according to the claims.
