Abstract

L'invention concerne un revêtement hybride pour matériaux polymères composites renforcés devant être utilisés pour des applications mécaniques structurales qui requièrent une stabilité géométrique élevée. Les matériaux composites présentent des propriétés de légèreté et de rigidité, mais sont soumises à des distorsions géométriques dues à l'absorption d'humidité présente dans l'atmosphère ou suite à un contact accidentel avec des liquides dans l'environnement de travail dans lequel le composite lui-même est utilisé. L'objectif de ce revêtement est d'attribuer à un matériau composite des propriétés qui améliorent sa stabilité dimensionnelle et qui évitent par conséquent une altération des dimensions des structures composées du matériau touché. On obtient un tel revêtement au moyen d'un procédé de dépôt chimique en phase vapeur activé par plasma (PECVD). Des modes de réalisation préférés d'un tel revêtement sont réalisés en utilisant, en tant que précurseurs, des monomères organosilanes (par exemple, hexaméthyldisiloxane ou HDMSO) combinés avec de l'oxygène (O2) et, éventuellement, de l'argon (Ar).Le revêtement est constitué de deux couches. La couche la plus interne est résistante à l'humidité, et agit par conséquent en tant que barrière protectrice pour le matériau composite sur lequel elle est appliquée. La couche la plus en surface présente des caractéristiques hydrophobes et est constituée des même éléments chimiques qui sont présents dans la couche la plus interne, mais dans des pourcentages différents et avec une stoichiométrie différente. Parmi les matériaux composites sur lesquels il est possible d'appliquer ce revêtement, figurent, par exemple, des matériaux renforcés avec de l'aramide (par exemple, du Kevlar), du carbone (CFRP) ou des fibres de verre (GFRP). Parmi les applications structurales desdits matériaux composites qui nécessitent une stabilité géométrique élevée, figure, par exemple, le domaine des machines fonctionnelles.
