Description
DISPOSITIF DE PROTECTION D'UN BARRAGE ELECTROHYDRAULIOUE CONTRE UNE ATTAQUE A L'EXPLOSIF DEVICE FOR PROTECTING AN ELECTROHYDRAULIC DAM FROM EXPLOSIVE ATTACK
The present invention relates to a device for protecting an electrohydraulic dam against an attack with explosive. The present invention also relates to an electrohydraulic dam comprising a device of this kind. An explosive attack of an electrohydraulic dam can create considerable damage downstream of the dam, potentially resulting in the death of thousands of people. Most of the current dams in the world are not guarded by armed men, requiring too much personnel. The current roadblocks are particularly easy to access for malicious people wishing to blow them up. In particular, a dam has, on its upper part, most of the time a road on which people can move. It is quite simple, for a malicious group, to position itself on this upper part of the barrier wall and to lower, for example with ropes, explosive charges to the level where it wants the explosion to take place to destroy the dam.
actuellement .The present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the protection systems of the prior art by proposing a system for protecting a dam which protects this dam against explosive attacks, carried out in particular by placing oneself on the wall and making explosives from this wall, which can prevent catastrophic destruction of the dam without having to require means of surveillance men larger than those used currently.
According to the invention, a device for protecting a dam comprising a wall retaining an upstream lake is characterized in that it comprises means forming a net and means for fixing the means of net capable of fixing the means forming a net at dam wall, so that the net means extend substantially perpendicular to the wall.
Preferably the resistance of the net means is such that it can withstand a force corresponding to a weight of an explosive falling vertically in the net and sufficient to explode the wall, especially if it explodes at a level between 9 and 20 meters below the water level.
De préférence, le dispositif comporte des moyens flotteurs destinés à faire flotter les moyens formant filet dans le lac en amont du barrage, le poids des filets et l'agencement des flotteurs et du filet étant choisis de sorte que les moyens formant filet flottent en étant immergés de façon à ne pas être vus de dessus .Preferably, the device comprises float means intended to float the net means in the lake upstream of the dam, the weight of the nets and the arrangement of the floats and the net being chosen so that the net means float while being immersed so as not to be seen from above.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fastening means of the net means are slidably mounted along the wall, so that the net means can "follow" the rise or fall of the lake water to be always at a level desired by the user, including being just submerged below the water level of the lake. Thus, according to the invention, one can, in a simple way, protect the dam against an attack with explosive. Indeed, for an attack to the explosive has the possibility of destroying a dam, it is necessary that the explosive explodes at a level below the water level of the lake, preferably at a distance between 9 m and 20 m from the water level, and substantially in close proximity to the wall of the dam. However, with the net system, which preferably is arranged substantially at the water level of the dam lake, potential terrorists are prevented from dropping explosives at the end of the barrier wall. a rope having the desired distance for these explosives to be positioned at a height of the wall corresponding to a depth from the water level of the 1-ac from 9 to 20 m. Indeed, the explosives will be "stopped" by the net, so that they will explode only at the level of the water of the lake, and it turns out that at this level the explosive can not only slightly damage the dam and can not destroy it. The result is a well protected dam from an explosive attack for its complete destruction, including a simple attack that consists of positioning itself at the top of the dam wall and dropping that upper edge of the dam explosive charges connected to a wire having a height such that the charges, once the wire stretched, would end up at a depth of about 9 to 20 m under water, close to the wall, position in which they would have a devastating effect on the dam, and in particular would destroy it. This level of immersion required is very easy to know since everything is explained in detail in the book "Dambreakers" recounting the destruction made by the RAF pilots during the Second World War.
le mur .The present invention also relates to a dam having a wall delimiting in part a dam lake having a water level and a dam protection device according to the invention being mounted on the wall .
By way of nonlimiting example of the scope of the invention, an embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, in which:
In Figure 1, there is shown in perspective a protection system mounted on a barrier wall, in Figure 2 there is shown a top view of the protection system of Figure 1, and in Figure 3 a front view. of the system of Figure 1 and 2.
In Figure 1, there can be seen a dam wall 1 having an upper edge surface 2 on which a road may be, and which is generally accessible to the public. On one side (the side of the figure) of the wall, is a lake (not shown), namely the lake upstream of the dam. On the side of the lake, we can see a dam protection device according to the invention. This protection device comprises support elements 3 which can support one or more threads, by or keeping them substantially perpendicular to the wall, that is to say horizontal. These supports 3 are here, for example, in the form of cylindrical tubes. They could of course also be in some other form. These support elements 3 have floats 8, which allows them to float in the water. Their material and weight are chosen so that when they support a net, the net floats just below the water level 10. Vertical rails 4 are fixed to the wall and a connection system connects these slides to the supports 3 Thus, depending on the level of the water, the supports 3, by the action of the floats 8, will follow this level of the water by sliding along the slides 4 by means of the guides 5. When the level Lake water will go up or down, the net supported by support 3 will also go up and down following the water level of the lake and still being slightly below this lake water level. If a malicious group, such as a terrorist commando, is positioned on the upper edge of wall 1 and drops explosives at one end of a rope having calculated the height of the rope so that once the wire stretched the explosive is at a level below the water between 9 m and 20 m, then the net supported by the support 3 will "intercept" this explosive charge and prevent it from falling to the desired level by the terrorist. Thus, he will not be able to blow his load at a distance other than at about the surface of the water. At this level, an explosion can not destroy the wall. Only slight damage will be suffered by the wall that will not collapse. As a result, people living downstream of the dam will be protected from a total collapse of the dam. A simple repair of the wall can suffice.
In addition, if the terrorist wants to try to damage the net so that his. loads can pass, it will take a lot of time. However, in this case, surveillance, for example by video, may allow security services to arrive in time to intercept it and prevent it from completing its fatal work.
Preferably, the net extends for a distance of several meters to several tens of meters from the wall, all along the wall along the lake. Preferably, the net extends the full length of the wall along the lake.
