[9] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for operating an internet free reserve auction service and an internet free gift lottery service provided by a server, in which a member participates in the service while using a free coupon saved on member information data through signing up for membership, purchasing products at a general shopping mall, a members secondhand transaction shopping mall, and an open market shopping mall, or signing up for membership for a collaborative company, the method for operating the internet free reserve auction service including the steps of: (a) transmitting a list of a product currently selling at auction to a member's terminal and receiving selection of an auction product from the member's terminal; (b) identifying if a member desiring to participate in an auction has a coupon; (c) deriving an expected price of a successful bid from a list of a past auction bid and a price of the successful bid of the auction product selected by the member, a similar product, or a similar product category and transmitting them to the member's terminal, when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the auction in step (b); (d) receiving input of a bidding price from the member's terminal; (e) saving cyber money available for using free contents in member's information data of the member participating in the auction; (f) selecting a successful bidder at the auction; (g) providing the free contents within a range of a saved quantity of the cyber money of the member when the member's terminal requests provision of the free contents depending on the saved cyber money; and (h) selecting a special member for every certain time period referring to one or more among the number of times the member has participated in the free reserve auction, a use quantity of the free contents, a time period for using the server, the percentages of victories in a game, or saved quantity of free cyber money,

Advantageous Effects
[15] According to the method for the auction through the internet of the present invention, an auction server provides a bidder with previous bid information and successful bid information for a same product, a similar product or a similar product category for a specific product for bidding so that the bidder can present a reasonable bidding price for an auction product. Therefore, it is possible to reduce difficulty in determining the bidding price of the bidder, often shown in the internet auction, so as to activate the internet auction.

[24] FIG. 1 is a schematic flowchart illustrating a service including a free reserve auction and a free gift lottery provided by an internet service server. The internet service server takes charge of member management, sale of a product through a shopping mall, free coupon provision, auction progress, free gift lottery progress, free cyber money provision, contents management, leading the member to sign up for membership for a collaborative company, or the like.
[25] A member of the internet service server is classified into a free member and a paid member. The free member is one who sings up for the internet service free of charge, buys a product at a shopping mall, including a general shopping mall selling the product on the internet, a members secondhand transaction shopping mall providing a place for selling and buying the product between members, and an open market in which companies are resident in cyber space, and receives a free coupon in return. However, it is limited the use of the free coupon, participation in the free reserve auction, participation in the free gift lottery, and the use of the free contents. The paid member is one who pays a certain membership fee depending on a grade, and can use the service such as product purchase, the use of the free coupon, the use of the free reserve auction, use of the contents, use of the free gift lottery, or the like. The paid member is classified into a regular member, a silver member, a gold member, and a premium member based on the paid membership fee, in which the grade is high according to the above mentioned sequence. The paid member monthly pays the membership fee according to his/her grade and receives and saves a different number of coupons depending on the classified grade of the member.
[26] The free member and the paid member buy products at the shopping mall provided from the internet service server including the general shopping mall, the members secondhand transaction shopping mall, and the open market in which companies are resident in the cyber space, and receive the free coupon in proportion to a purchasing price of the product. The member can use the service of the free reserve auction or the free gift lottery provided from the internet service server with the coupon provided according to the use of the above shopping malls or the monthly provided on a predetermined date depending on the grade of the member.
[27] When the member wishes to use the service of the free reserve auction or the free gift lottery by using the coupon, the internet service server identifies if the member desiring to use the coupon is a paid member or free member. The service of the free reserve auction and the free gift lottery provided from the internet service server acco rding to the present invention is available to only the paid member. Therefore, if the member is not paid member, the internet service server transmits a corresponding message to a terminal of the free member. If the member is paid member, the internet service server participates in the service of the free reserve auction SlOO or participates in the service of the free gift lottery S200, and provides the cyber money free of charge in proportion to the number of coupons used through participating in the free reserve auction or the free gift lottery. The cyber money provided free of charge provides a member with an authority to use the contents. Specifically, if the contents are the game deciding the issue of the game, the cyber money of the loser comes to belong to the winner, thereby increasing tension in the game. The internet service server examines the member depending on the number of times the member has participated in the free reserve auction, the number of times the member has participated in the free gift lottery, the number of times the member has used the free contents, the time period for using a site, the percentages of victories in the game, the saved quantity of free cyber money, or the like, at a predetermined time, i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly, half- yearly, and yearly, so as to provide the member selected as the special member with the free gift or the prize.

When the member desires to use the free coupon provided through the above methods, the internet service server identifies if the member has the authority to use the coupon.The present invention provides the service of the free reserve auction and the free gift lottery subject to the paid member. Therefore, the internet service server identifies if the member is a free member or a paid member referring to member information data. If the member is the free member, the internet service server asks the member for the change to the paid member. If the member does not wish to change to the paid member, the service is terminated. If the member wishes to change to a paid member, a procedure for signing up is provided. When the member desiring to use the coupon is identified as a paid member, the internet service server receives the selection of the service requiring the use of the coupon from the member. FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating the case where the free reserve auction is selected.

[38] (h) selecting a special member for every certain time period referring to one or more among the number of times the member has participated in the free reserve auction, a use quantity of the free contents, a time period for using the server, the percentages of victories in a game, or saved quantity of free cyber money.
[39] Hereinafter, the respective steps will be described in detail.
[40] Step (a) is to transmit a list of a product currently selling at auction to a member's terminal and to receive the selection of an auction product from the member's terminal, wherein, when the member selects an item of the free reserve auction, the server transmits the list of the products currently sold at auction to the member's terminal, receives the selection of the auction product, and transmits a detail explanatory for the selected product to the member's terminal.
[41] Step (b) is to identify if a member desiring to participate in an auction has a coupon, wherein, when the member selects the auction product in step (a), the internet service server investigates the member information data so as to identify if the member has the coupon. The coupon is saved while buying the product at the shopping mall including the general shopping mall, the members secondhand transaction shopping mall, the open market in which the companies are resident in a cyber space, in return, signing up for membership for the site of the collaborative company, or upgrading the grade of the paid member of the internet service server. Therefore, the internet service server provides the member with three kinds of options for selection and moves to a screen for charging the coupon according to the selection of the member. When the member has the saved coupon available for participating in the auction or newly saves the coupon, the internet service server moves to a page for freely bidding.
[42] Step (c) is to derive an expected price of a successful bid from a list of a past auction bid and the price of the successful bid of the auction product selected by the member, a similar product, or a similar product category, and to transmit them to the member's terminal, when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the auction in step (b), wherein the expected price of the successful bid for the auction product selected by the member is guided so as to increase the interest of the auction and make a bidding rate high. The expected price of the successful bid provided to the member on bidding is extracted from the bidding price and the price of the successful bid of the same product from the database accumulated in the past auction and derived through a statistical analysis method of a statistical function processing method. Along with this, it is preferable to present information extracted from the data of the similar product and the similar product category. When the bidding price and the price of the successful bid for the same product cannot be extracted from the database accumulated from the previous auction, such as when the product is the first product selling at auction or when fluctuations in prices cannot be reflected because the previous auction is old, the data for the similar product may be required. Further, when there is no data for the similar product or in order to provide the member with more opportunity for selection, the data for the similar product category may be provided.
[43] An example of the similar product and the similar product category is described as follows. When the product selling at auction is a notebook, Model Name. "Satellite AlOO" of Toshiba Corporation, the similar product can be another model of a notebook of Toshiba Corporation, or a notebook of different companies, such as Samsung, LGIMB, HP, or the like. The similar product category can be a desktop computer, except the notebook from a computer category including said notebook. The similarity of the product depends on a predetermined division.
[44] FIG. 5 is a displayed screen of the member's terminal according to the operation of the free reserve auction. The notebook of the product selling at auction is displayed at a left corner of the screen. The model name of the auction product, an input range of the bidding price, and a method for the successful bid are displayed on an upper of a center of the screen, and the number of coupons available for the bidding is displayed at a right upper of the screen. An analysis table of the same product, the similar product, the similar product category is displayed at a right lower of the screen, and the display is for the same product. As described above, in order to provide the member with various information on the auction product, the product is classified into the same product, the similar product, and the similar product category.
[45] Step (d) is to receive input of a bidding price from the member's terminal, wherein the member consecutively inputs a predetermined range (hereinafter, referred to as "predetermined range consecutive input method") or inputs the bidding price one by one (hereinafter, referred to as "piece price bidding method"). The predetermined range consecutive input method is where the member inputs the lowest bidding price, the highest bidding price, and an interval of the bidding price. For example, when the member inputs 500,000 won for the lowest bidding price, 800,000 won for the highest bidding price, and 50,000 won for the interval of the bidding price upon biding the notebook of Toshiba Corporation, the bidding price increments are set to 500,000, 550,000, 600,000, 650,000, 700,000, 750,000, and 800,000 won. The piece price bidding method is where the member inputs the bidding price one by one. When the member bids for the notebook of Toshiba Corporation through the piece price bidding method, the member bids with the bidding price of 500,000, 550,000, 600,000, 650,000, 700,000, 750,000, and 800,000 won, respectively. When the member participates in the auction for one product several times, the member requires the number of the coupon to be the same as the number of times the member has participated. Therefore, when the member bids for the product through the predetermined range consecutive input method and the piece price bidding method, the member has to have at least seven coupons. When there are not enough coupon, the server informs the member of the lack of coupons. When the member determines the price and bids, the server stores the auction product and the bidding price in the database for providing the member with the expected price of the successful bid in the next auction.
[46] Step (e) is to save the cyber money available for using free contents in the member information data of the member participating in the auction, wherein the member can use various contents provided from the internet service server by using the cyber money.
[47] Step (f) is to select a successful bidder at the auction, wherein the auction is executed based on the price bided in step (d) and the member bidding with the bidding price satisfying a predetermined requirement is selected as the successful bidder.

Especially, if the content is a game such as Baduk deciding the issue with another member, the cyber money required for executing the game among the cyber money of the loser is delivered to the winner. There are several kinds in the game deciding the issue, wherein the cyber money required for executing the game is varied depending on the popularity so that the member can save the cyber money and enjoy various games. Further, the member can concentrate more on the game because the cyber money is varied depending on the issue of the game. The member enjoys the game more interestingly through the method for saving the cyber money through the game descried above, and often participates in the auction in order to get the cyber money, and thus activating the internet service server as a result. In the meantime, the enjoy of the movie, the cartoons, the fortune, bell sound, SMS, the magazine, or the like, having no issue, among the contents, deducts the cyber money provided through the participation in the free reserve auction depending on the quantity of them used.

Claims [1] A method for operating an internet free reserve auction service and an internet free gift lottery service provided by a server, in which a member participates in the service while using a free coupon saved on member information data through signing up for membership for the service, purchasing products at a general shopping mall, a members secondhand transaction shopping mall, and an open market shopping mall, or signing up for membership for a collaborative company, the method for operating the internet free reserve auction service comprising the steps of: (a) transmitting a list of a product currently selling at auction to a member's terminal and receiving selection of an auction product from the member's terminal; (b) identifying if a member desiring to participate in an auction has a coupon; (c) deriving an expected price of a successful bid from a list of a past auction bid and a price of the successful bid of the auction product selected by the member, a similar product, or a similar product category and transmitting them to the member's terminal, when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the auction in step (b) (d) receiving input of a bidding price from the member's terminal; (e) saving cyber money available for using free contents in member's information data of the member participating in the auction (f) selecting a successful bidder at the auction; (g) providing the free contents within a range of a saved quantity of the cyber money of the member when the member's terminal requests provision of the free contents depending on the saved cyber money; and (h) selecting a special member for every certain time period referring to one or more among the number of times the member has participated in the free reserve auction, a use quantity of the free contents, a time period for using the server, the percentages of victories in a game, or saved quantity of free cyber money, and the method for operating the internet free gift lottery service comprising the steps of: (a-1) identifying if the member desiring to participate in the free gift lottery has the coupon; (b- 1) making a request for input of a number for the free gift lottery to the member's terminal when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the free gift lottery in step (a-1); (c-1) receiving the input number for the free gift lottery so as to store it in the database; (d-1) saving the cyber money available for using the free contents in the member information data of the member participating in the free gift lottery; (e-1) selecting a winner of the free gift lottery at a predetermined time; (f-1) providing the free contents within a range of the saved quantity of the member's cyber money when the member's terminal requests the provision of the free contents depending on the saved cyber money; and

[6] The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein in step (e-1), a number for the free gift lottery input by a lottery winner is the same as a lucky number of a lottery operated by a local government or a national designated organization.
[7] The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the method for charging the coupon is implemented through purchasing a product at the shopping mall, signing up for membership for the collaborative company, or upgrading a grade of the member.
[8] A method for operating an internet free reserve auction service and an internet free gift lottery service provided by a server, in which a member participates in the service while using a free coupon saved on member information data through signing up for membership for the service, purchasing products at a general shopping mall, a members secondhand transaction shopping mall, and an open market shopping mall, or signing up for membership for a collaborative company, the method for operating the internet free reserve auction service comprising the steps of:
(a) transmitting a list of a product currently selling at auction to a member's terminal and receiving selection of an auction product from the member's terminal;
(b) identifying if a member desiring to participate in an auction has a coupon;
(c) deriving an expected price of a successful bid from a list of a past auction bid and a price of the successful bid of the auction product selected by the member, a similar product, or a similar product category and transmitting them to the member's terminal, when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the auction in step (b);
(d) receiving input of a bidding price from the member's terminal;
(e) saving cyber money available for using free contents in member's information data of the member participating in the auction;
(f) selecting a successful bidder at the auction;
(g) providing the free contents within a range of a saved quantity of the cyber money of the member when the member's terminal requests provision of the free contents depending on the saved cyber money; and
(h) selecting a special member for every certain time period referring to one or more among the number of times the member has participated in the free reserve auction, a use quantity of the free contents, a time period for using the server, the percentages of victories in a game, or saved quantity of free cyber money, the method for operating the internet free gift lottery service comprising the steps of:
(a-1) identifying if the member desiring to participate in the free gift lottery has the coupon;
(b- 1) making a request for input of a number for the free gift lottery to the member's terminal when the member is identified as having the coupon available for participating in the free gift lottery in step (a-1);
(c-1) receiving the input number for the free gift lottery so as to store it in a database;
(d-1) saving the cyber money available for using the free contents in the member information data of the member participating in the free gift lottery;
(e-1) selecting a winner of the free gift lottery at a predetermined time;
(f-1) providing the free contents within a range of the saved quantity of the member's cyber money when the member's terminal requests the provision of the free contents depending on the saved cyber money; (g-1) selecting the special member for every certain time period referring to one or more among the number of times the member has participated in the free gift lottery, use quantity of the free contents, a time period for using the server, the percentages of victories in a game, or the saved quantity of the free cyber money; wherein a step of charging the coupon through purchasing the product at the shopping mall, signing up for membership for the collaborative company, or upgrading a grade of the member is further comprised when it is identified that the member does not have the coupon available for participating in the auction in steps (b) and (a-1), and the step (d) comprises a predetermined range consecutive input method or a piece price bidding method.
