Description

DESCRIPTION
FRAME PROFILES
Technical Field
This invention relates to door - window frame profiles which are used especially in doors and windows and designed to allow quick assembly.
Prior Art In the prior art, there are many door/window frame profiles of different shapes and structures, which are assembled into the door or the window embrasures on the walls. These profiles are produced with different geometries and assembled to each other and to the wall.
In the prior art document EP1640548, a profile for door and window frames is disclosed. Said profile comprises a connection member with flexible tabs. These tabs are stretched and fitted into the respective embrasures provided on the frame. Owing to these flexible tabs, the profiles are combined with no need to use any adhesive element. In the published patent documents EP1613832, EP1608837, CH695108, door/window profiles of different structures are seen.
The profiles, which are the subject matter of invention, have been produced with different geometries so as to facilitate the assembly into the door and the window embrasures. They can easily engage into each other as well as the window and the door embrasures. In addition, a feature of these profiles is that their surfaces contacting the wall or facing the wall are made rough. In this way, the adhesive filling materials which are squeezed into the spaces that remain therebetween after the placement of the frames composed of profiles into the door and the window ledges are allowed to stick to the profiles in an easier manner.
Aim of the Invention
An aim of this invention is to form profiles of different geometries in order to allow the quick assembly of the frame profiles into the door or the window embrasures. Another aim of this invention is to allow the formation of the profiles so as to be manufactured with the extrusion method in order to increase the durability and the assembly quality of the frames.
Disclosure of Invention
Figures 1-11 provide sectional views of the frame profiles of different type showing how they are placed into the door-window embrasures. Each of the profiles is firstly combined among themselves according to the shape of the embrasure into which they are to be placed. As an example, for a corner turn which takes place in a door embrasure, one end of each two profiles with the same section is cut so as to fully match the corner turn angle and they are engaged to each other from joint spaces with an adjusted gusset which is provided in its inner sections. Since the corner turns of the door and the window embrasures are generally 90°, the ends of the profiles are cut at different angles so as each to be 45° or the total angle of two ends to be 90°. For the sake of manufacturing convenience, cuts of 45° are preferred. The frames which are combined with this method are then placed into the door-window embrasure and herein, their connections with the other associated frame are provided. The frames to be placed into the door and the window embrasures are obtained from at least two different type profiles and they are combined to each other from male-female joint regions on these frames. In this way, the inner and the side surfaces of a door or a window embrasure is equipped with the frame profiles.
The exemplary frame profiles which are shown in figs. 1-2 comprise an inner surface profile (1) which is placed on the inner surface of the wall (D) where door-window embrasure exists and a side surface profile (2) which covers the side surface.

The extension adapter (12) which is shown in fig. 12 is a part which is used to extend said joint regions (20, 60, 70, 100, 110) of the profiles. The extension adapter (12) comprises a space (121 ) which is in the form of a quadrangle of which around is closed; a female joint region (122) which extends towards one side of this space (121) and of which two exposed ends are "L"-shaped and bent inwardly and against each other; a male joint region (123) which extends towards the other side of the space (121) and of which two exposed ends are "U"-shaped and bent inwardly and against each other. The extension adapter (12) is used to extend the frame profiles to be used in wide border door-window embrasures. The insertion form of the extension adapters (12) to the profiles are explained below.
In addition to this, for wide border applications, as explained above, empty cells can also be placed next to the adjusted gusset spaces instead of adapters in order not to exhibit too much extension adapter additions.
In fig. 13, a wing profile (13) which is used for doors and windows is shown. The wing profile (13) has a section in the form of a quadrangle between its outer surface (135) and the inner surface (136) and in the inner side; it comprises an adjusted gusset space (131 ) in the form of a quadrangle which is adjacent to the outer surface (135) and a wing joint space (132) which is formed with a groove from its outer surface to the inside and extends up to the surface where the said space ends. Into this space, the side surfaces of the door and window wings are engaged.
In fig. 14, a section view of other wing profile (14) is provided. This profile (14) which has a thick edged structure comprises side surfaces (143, 144) which are formed by extending the ends of the outer surface (145) thereof towards one side and give profile the U form; an adjusted gusset space (141) in the form of a quadrangle which is adjacent to the inner side of the outer surface (145); an extension space (142) which is adjacent to this space and of which ending surface (146) is located on the line where side surfaces (143, 144) end; two grooves (140, 140') into which the door wings are fitted and which remains between the side surfaces (143, 144) and the adjusted gusset space.
In fig. 15, a sectional view of another wing profile (15) is provided. This profile (15) which has a thin edged structure comprises side surfaces (153, 154) which are formed by extending the ends of the outer surface (155) thereof towards one side and give profile the U form; an adjusted gusset space (151) in the form of a quadrangle which is adjacent to the inner side of the outer surface (155); two grooves (150, 150') into which the door wings are fitted and which remains between the side surfaces (153, 154) and the adjusted gusset space (151). In this profile (15), the line where the side surfaces (143, 144) end is behind the ending line (156) of the space (151 ). In this way, a thin edged door profile is obtained.
Some common features of the above-mentioned profiles are provided below. For example, the forms of the extension adapter insertion channels (22, 62, 72, 102, 1 12) pertaining to said profiles (2, 6, 7, 10, 1 1 ) has the same form as the female joint region (122) of the extension adapter (12).
In order to prevent profiles to harm the surface they contact, gaskets are placed into the gasket channels throughout the channel which are used in all profiles. These gaskets are used according to their features in order to provide heat and sound insulation between the different media and protection from dust and damp. Said gaskets also allow door and window wings to be closed more silently.
A common feature of said profiles is that their surfaces contacting the wall or facing the wall are made rough. In this way, the adhesive filling materials which are squeezed into the spaces that remain therebetween after the placement of the frames composed of profiles into the door and the window borders are allowed to stick to the profiles in an easier manner.
The spaces which remain between the window and the door wings fitted into the grooves (140, 140' and 150, 150') pertaining to the wing profiles (14 and 15) are considered in order to allow different materials to be placed for sound and heat isolation. In case where the wings are made of transparent material, adjusted curtains such as jalousie, different fabrics for esthetical appearance or surface members with pattern thereon can be placed into the spaces therebetween. In addition to these, paper or aluminum honeycomb structures can be placed into said spaces in order to enhance their durability without applying too much weight to the wings.
The adjusted gusset (16) which is fitted into the above-mentioned adjusted gusset spaces (21 , 31 , 41 , 61 , 71 , 81 , 101 , 111) is shown in fig. 16. The spring lock bolts (160, 160') which are on the two end of the adjusted gusset (16) are in a position that they extend outwards from the outer surfaces (165, 166) of the gusset (16). While the gussets are inserted into said spaces (21 , 31 , 41 , 61 , 71 , 81 , 101 , 11 1), the lock bolts somewhat moves in, thereafter, when they are aligned with the holes opened on the side surface of the spaces, they take their previous positions with the help of the spring (167). Due to the surface differences generated by the lock bolts (160, 160'), inward grooves are formed in the said spaces (21 , 31 , 41 , 61 , 71 , 81 , 101 , 111 ). The top surfaces of the lock bolts (160,
160') remain within these grooves and do not prevent the movement of said joint regions
(20, 40, 60, 70, 100, 110). As an example to this, the position of the lock bolt (160) of the gusset (16) fitted into an adjusted gusset space (81) where it remains inside the groove within the space (81) and it does not pass beyond the intermediate surface (85) against which a joint region (70) leans is shown in fig. 17.
