Abstract

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1 . FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a table, in particular a student table, having the features of the preamble of claim 1.

2. State of the art

At tables and especially at student tables, there is a need to use the space below the countertop as storage space for books and other documents. It is therefore known to install a console below the table top, which is designed differently depending on the application. Thus, in practice, for example, there are tables with a book shelf, tables with a wire basket, tables with a receptacle for a so-called property box or tables with a chair suspension below the worktop. Due to the variety of different applications, which sometimes have to meet different standards depending on the country, the manufacturer of such tables must be kept a wide variety of tables with different consoles. This in turn results in high manufacturing and storage costs.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the above-described problem, therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a console table which can be easily and simply adapted to a variety of different applications. This object is achieved by a table having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and modifications of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

The table, especially a student's table, has a worktop and a table frame supporting the worktop. Below the worktop, a console is provided, which is designed to be open towards the user side of the table and has at least one fastening or receiving device for at least one functional module.

While in conventional tables of this type each a certain, serving as a "functional module" console is firmly connected to the table frame or worktop, the construction of the invention allows in a compact design starting from a uniform basic construction of the table the construction of a series of tables with a variety different functional modules, which are adapted to the respective desired applications.The manufacturing and storage costs of such a table series are significantly reduced.

The at least one functional module is for example selected from a group of different functional modules for variable applications and / or a group of different functional modules for variable knee heights of the users.

In one embodiment of the invention, the console may have at least one mounting or receiving device for a plurality of functional modules, so that either one of several different functional modules can be used or several different functional modules can be used at the same time.

The at least one functional module can be fixable to the console or detachably attached. The at least one functional module is for example selected from a group consisting of shelves, chair suspensions, boxes, baskets, bookends and the like.

In one embodiment of the invention, the console is integrally formed or connected to the worktop. Alternatively, the console is integrally formed or connected to the table frame.

In a further embodiment of the invention, which favors a stacking of the tables, the table frame has at least one cross member and this at least one cross member extends above the lower edge and within the console.

In yet another embodiment of the invention, at least one further functional module is mounted on the outside of the console or the table frame, which is selected, for example, from a group consisting of drink holders, bag hooks and the like.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENTLY PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

1 to 10 different variants of a presently preferred embodiment of a table, in particular a student's table, will be explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, first, the basic structure of the table schematically from the side, from behind or from above. and FIGS. 4 to 10 illustrate various functional modules and further functional modules which can be used in combination with the table according to the invention. The table consists essentially of a worktop 10, for example made of wood or plastic, a table frame 1 2 - 20 for supporting the worktop 10 and provided below the worktop 10 console 22. The table frame 1 2 - 20 has on both sides of the worktop 10 a front table leg 1 2 and a rear table leg 14, which are each combined to form a side bar. The two side bars of the table are integrally connected to one another (for example by means of welding or screw connections) via a plurality of (in this embodiment, three) transverse struts or beams 16, 18, 20 in the transverse direction of the table, so that a dimensionally stable table frame results.

At their lower end facing away from the worktop 10, the table legs 1 2, 14 are preferably provided with a furniture slider 24 in order to protect the floor covering when the table slips. Alternatively, at the lower ends of the table legs 1 2, 14 of at least one side bracket and casters and the like may be mounted so that the table can be moved easily and without much effort. These casters are preferably designed and arranged so that they allow only a movement of the table in its transverse direction, so that the table is positioned more stable in use. In addition, the casters are preferably detectable.

In order to achieve a good stackability of the table are, as can be seen particularly well in Fig. 2, the side brackets on the one hand below the worktop 10 and on the other hand in the transverse direction of the table outside the worktop 10. Furthermore, the front and the rear table leg 12, 14 of a side bracket run apart, at least in the end area facing away from the work surface 10, in the direction away from the work surface 10. As can be seen in FIG. 1, the two table legs 12, 14 in the present exemplary embodiment run apart substantially over their entire length in the direction away from the worktop 10, so that the tables can be stacked more tightly.

Furthermore, FIG. 1 shows that the two table legs 1 2, 14 of a side bracket have different angles relative to the work surface 10. This is for a reason especially in the required for student tables legroom for the students. It should be noted at this point that the present invention, of course, not only on tables with the table frame 12 - 20 shown in Fig. 1 to 3 is applicable. In particular, non-stackable tables, tables with four separate legs 1 2, 14, table frames with fewer or more than three cross struts 16 - 20, completely below the worktop 10 arranged table frames 12 - 20, table frames with straight legs 12, 14 and the like Variants possible. In addition, the present invention includes not only student tables, but in principle also other tables, such as desks and the like.

The present invention is basically also applicable to tables with any table heights. Typical table heights for student tables are in the range between 530 mm and 820 mm. The rear legs 14 of the side arms are inclined, for example, at an angle of about 5 ° to about 1 5 °, more preferably about 7 ° to about 1 2 ° to the vertical, while the front legs 1 2 of the side for example, at an angle of about 20 ° to about 35 °, more preferably about 25 ° to about 31 ° to the vertical, so that an opening angle between the two legs 12, 14 of a side bracket in the range of about 30 ° to about 45 °, more preferably from about 33 ° to about 41.5 °. These dimensions are of course only exemplary information and can be varied depending on the application and in particular depending on the size of the worktop 10.

As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, a console 22 is mounted underneath the work surface 10, the dimensions of which are indicated by dash-dotted lines in the illustration of FIG. This console 22 is open at least to the user or front of the table (right in Fig. 1 and bottom in Fig. 3) and usually also down (bottom in Fig. 1 and 2). The other three sides of the console 22 are generally at least partially closed. In this case, the side walls of the bracket 22 are provided, for example, with perforations 28 or similar design features.

The bracket 22 is made of, for example, plastic (e.g., injection molding) and has at least one functional module mounting or receiving device that can be variably selected according to the desired application, as described in more detail later.

The console 22 below the worktop 10 also determines the stack height of the table. Since the console 22 comes to rest with its underside facing away from the worktop 10 in a stack of tables on top of the worktop 10 of a table arranged thereunder, this bottom is advantageously formed or provided with a Gleitschutzeigenschaft. In this way, the tops of the worktops 10 are protected when stacking the tables against scratching.

In order not to hinder stacking of the tables, the upper cross members 16, 18 of the table frame are advantageously arranged so that they lie above the lower edge of the bracket 22 under the worktop 10. In one embodiment of the invention, the console 22 is integrally formed with the work surface 10. The table thus has a high degree of prefabrication with only two components, namely the worktop 10 with bracket 22 on the one hand and the table frame with the side brackets 1 2, 14 and the cross members 16 - 20 on the other hand, whereby the final assembly of the table is very simple. For example, the worktop 10 can be placed with the bracket 22 first from behind on the cross member 16, wherein the cross member 1 6 is guided and held in a corresponding recess in the bracket 22. Subsequently, the worktop 10 is tilted forward until the console 22 rests on the cross member 18 of the table frame, wherein the cross member 18 is also guided and held in a corresponding longitudinal recess in the bracket 22. Finally, the bracket 22 is fixed, for example, with two screws on the cross member 18. The recess of the console 22 for the cross member 1 6 of the table frame is shaped so that a flip up the rear side of the countertop 10 when, for example, a user relies on their front edge, is reliably prevented.

In an alternative embodiment, it is also possible to provide the worktop 10 separately and integrally form or pre-assemble the console 22 to the table frame, so that again only two components are available for final assembly. Referring now to Figs. 4 to 6, various functional modules will now be described in detail which may be used in conjunction with the console 22 of the table of Figs. 1-3.

As illustrated in FIG. 4, in the region of its lower edge of the rear wall, the console 22 has a recess or a clamping element (fastening or receiving device of the invention) 29 for receiving a transverse bar of a chair. suspension 30 up. In the recess or the clamping element 29 of the console 22, alternatively, a (book) tray and the like can be firmly fixed as a functional module.

In Fig. 4, two guide rails (mounting or receiving device of the invention) 34 are further provided on the inner sides of the two side walls of the bracket 22 each directly below the worktop 10. In these guide rails 34, for example, a so-called property box (functional module of the invention) 36 can be inserted with their edge strips, as illustrated in Fig. 6. The proprietary box 36 illustrates an example of a releasably attachable functional module of the invention.

As releasably attachable functional modules can be inserted into the guide rails 34, for example, wire baskets.

As shown in Fig. 6, it is also possible at the table with the console 22 according to the invention to simultaneously attach two different functional modules. Thus, for example, a property box 36 can be inserted into the free space above the chair suspension 30 under the worktop 10. The table with the console 22 under the worktop 10, starting from a basic construction of the table numerous variations, which can be realized depending on the application by the different functional modules. With reference to FIGS. 7 to 10, various other functional modules will now be described below, which may be used in conjunction with the table of FIGS. 1 to 3 described above.

As shown in Fig. 7, for example, in the end region of the cross member 16, a bag hook 40 for hanging school bags, portfolios, sports bags and the like attached. The pocket hook 40 preferably protrudes laterally over the table legs 12, 14 and the side bracket addition, without the invention being limited to this embodiment. FIG. 8 shows, as a further example of another functional module, a beverage holder 42 for receiving a beverage container.
