Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a back rest (3) for the back seat or back bench (1) of a motor vehicle, whereby a first metal sheet (11) and at least one second metal sheet (10) are formed, the first metal sheet (11) and the second metal sheet (10) being welded together to form a back metal sheet (5) for maintaining a survival space in the motor vehicle.
