Definitions

  • the present invention relates, in general, to seat recliners for vehicles and, more particularly, to a seat recliner having high strength for vehicles, which has an optimized size, and in which the shape of a seat back coupling part is improved.
  • seat recliners for vehicles are devices that make it possible to adjust the angles of seat backs with respect to seat cushions within predetermined angular ranges.
  • Such a seat recliner must be able to stably support a rider, even after the corresponding seat back has been rotated to a desired angle.
  • the seat recliner must be designed such that no gap is defined between components of the seat recliner, to prevent the seat back from rattling.
  • an object of the present invention is to provide a seat recliner having high strength which can stably support a seat back even though a relatively large rotating force is transmitted to the seat recliner through the seat back, and which enhances coupling force between the seat recliner and the seat back.
  • the present invention provides a seat recliner for vehicles, including: a sector gear having a seat back coupling part on an outer surface thereof; a holder, rotatably coupled to the sector gear and having a seat cushion coupling part on an outer surface thereof; a cam, rotated and controlled by a shaft provided through the holder; a lock gear that is slid by compression of the cam to lock or unlock the sector gear to or from the holder; and a return spring supported at a first end thereof by the cam and supported at a second end thereof by the holder, thus elastically returning the cam
