Abstract

That invention is a security system with an alarm, which has been developed in order to prevent the stealing of the spare tires in vehicles. In a vehicle, which the security system subject to the present invention has been applied to, on the middle chassis which the spare tire rim (1) is placed onto, there is a micro switch (4) which is triggered by a transition movement. While the vehicle is not working, and when the contact between the surface of the spare tire rim (1) and the surface of the chassis (3) is interrupted, the micro switch (4) is triggered and thus an audible alarm is given to the outside of the vehicle.

Description

DESCRIPTION
A SECURITY SYSTEM PREVENTING THE STEALING OF THE SPARE TIRES
The present invention is a security system with an audible alarm, which prevents the stealing of the spare tires of any vehicles .
State of Prior Art:
Today, the rims (1) of the spare tires in the automotive industry are placed on a smooth interval chassis on the rear chassis of the vehicles; and are fixed to the surface by the means of a coupling unit such as screws, etc. When required, that coupling unit is taken off from its place, and the spare tire is taken off. In the vehicles which have a rear trunk that part is inside the trunk. In vehicles such as trucks and lorries, that part is under the dump body at an open location, and it is fixed to the interval chassis surface (3) by a chain. When required, the spare tire (1) is taken down by the means of a mitten (5) , and freed from the chain. Then it is ready for usage.
Some security systems with alarms, developed against the thieving at the vehicles are known in the state of art . However, all these security systems have been developed in order to prevent the stealing of the vehicles, thus they are triggered when the ignition key or any of the car doors are interfered. Because of that reason, such security, especially at vehicles with dump bodies, gives no warnings or alarms against the taking of the spare tire rim from the interval chassis by the means of a simple mitten, without necessitating any interference to the ignition key or the vehicle doors . Especially at vehicles with dump bodies, because the reason that the mitten elements (5) used for taking down of spare tire rim (1) from the interval chassis are not specially manufactured for each vehicle, and since they can be obtained from anywhere, and most important of all, because the reason that there are no security systems at that part of the vehicles, makes the spare tire rims the most significant object stolen from these kinds of vehicles.
Because of the reasons given above, especially in the vehicles with dump bodies that have no protection means against the stealing of the spare tire rims (1) , there arises a need for a security system that can be triggered just by the replacing of the spare tire (1) , free from the ignition key of the vehicle or the door of the vehicle. In addition, for the vehicles having a rear trunk, since the . security systems that are triggered as a result of any interference to the vehicle door are a precaution against the stealing of the spare tires placed in the trunk, when the volume of the thievery is considered, it is quite important to have an additional security system for the spare tires (1) .
Scope of the Invention:
By the means of that security system developed within the scope of the present invention, when the spare tires (1) at the vehicles are removed because of any reason from the interval chassis surface (3) , the micro switch (4) placed on the same surface is triggered, and the owner of the vehicle is warned by an audible signal . As it will be described in more detail in the next parts, the system subject to the present invention (Figure 1) , differing from the existing security systems, gives a response to the need to a security system against the stealing of the spare tires (1) . Definition of the Figures
Figure 1 the schematic view of the spare tire mechanism at a truck type vehicle in the state of prior art,
Figure 2 the top view of the vehicle given at Figure 1,
Figure 3 the view of the security system with an alarm, developed within the scope of the present invention, applied to a truck type vehicle,
Figure 4 the top view of the vehicle given at Figure 3.
Definition of the Parts:
1 Spare tires
2 Spare tire lowering - lifting mechanism
3 Interval chassis surface
4 Micro switch 5 Mitten
Detailed Description of the Invention:
In Figure 1 and 2, the detailed views of the spare tire mechanism used at truck type vehicles in the state of prior art are given. As can be understood from the figures, the spare tire (1) at the vehicle is connected to a tire lowering and lifting mechanism (2) on the interval chassis (3) having a smooth bottom surface. The rim of the spare tire (1) is connected to the mechanism by the means of a chain. By giving motion to the lowering-lifting mechanism by the means of a mitten (5) , the chain is brought down by the spare tire (1) . In the vehicles, which the security system subject to the present invention (Figure 3 and Figure 4) , different from the prior systems, at the interval chassis (3) surface, which the spare tire (1) has been placed to, there is a micro switch (4) and an alarm circuit connected to that micro switch (4) . The micro switch (4) is sensitive to transition movement, and acts as an alarm sensor for the system. When the contact between the spare tire (1) and the surface of the chassis (3) is interrupted, the micro switch (4) is triggered, and thus the alarm circuit connected to the micro switch (4) is completed and an audible alarm is produced.
The connection of the security system developed within the scope of the present invention, to the vehicle, provides that the system can operate only if the ignition key of the vehicle is at off position. Thus, at the interferences made to the spare tire by the authorized people, the security system will not produce any alarms.
So that, when the vehicle is not operating, if the contact of the spare tire (1) with the surface of the chassis (3) is interrupted by the means of a mitten (5) , the alarm circuit will produce audible signals, and the owner of the vehicle will be warned.

Claims

1. A security system with an alarm, developed in order to prevent the stealing of the spare tires (1) (Figure 3 and Figure 4) , wherein the contact of the spare tire (1) with the chassis surface (3) is interrupted, the micro switch (4) , sensitive to transition movement, > is triggered and the system including an alarm circuit
(Figure 3 and Figure 4) produces audible warning signals to the outside of the vehicle.
