Abstract

The invention refers to a noise absorbing railing in the form of a noise damping protection, which consists of a number of next to each other but in a predetermined distance from each other positioned, rod formed elements (2) having a high and length adapted to the place of application and the traffic intensity.

Description

Noise absorbing railing ° 8 "0^ M1
The present invention refers to a noise absorbing railing in the form of a noise absorbing protection for that noise or sound which occurs and is present near traffic on all types of traffic routes.
The noise absorbing railings used today usually consist of different high and elongated plank walls or concrete blocks, which are located along those road sections, which are intended to be screened off from traffic noise, so that the traffic shall not be disturbing to the people living next to the road in different types of living. These solutions have turned out to be very expensive and not always so effective. One drawback with the noise damping itself has turned out to be that the sound waves are jumping over the railing instead of which is the case according to the present invention be absorbed by said noise absorbing railing.
One object of the present invention is to eliminate those drawbacks mentioned above in providing a noise absorbing railing, which absorbs the noise instead of permitting that the noise jumps over the same. The characterizing features of the invention are stated in the following claims.
Thanks to the invention a noise absorbing railing has been provided, which in an excellent way fulfils its purpose at the same time as it is also cheap and easy to manufacture. Further the railing easy to put up since it during the transport and storing of the same is rolled up into big rolls. When mounting the railing it is tensioned between uprights anchored in a ground by aid of cords or wires extending through said railing. Depending on the noise level from passing traffic of the place of application suitable spacers are chosen, which are placed between each rod element constituting said railing. The structure of noise damping protection according to the present invention is made according to the principle to break apart the sound waves and change the amplitude so that the sound is torn into rags.
The invention is described closer below by aid of a preferred embodiment example in view of the drawings enclosed, in which

(Rule 12.4) Fig, 1 shows a schematic front view of a noise absorbing railing according to preferred embodiment example of the invention,
Fig. 2 shows a view from above of the noise absorbing railing illustrated in Fig. 1 having a cord or wire extending in the same,
Fig. 3 shows a view of the noise absorbing railing when the same is in its rolled up transporting- or storing condition before rolling out and mounting into position in its application place,
Fig. 4 shows two different schematic side views of a previously known noise railing solution and the solution according to the present invention and how the noise sound waves are transferred or moved when the same are reaching a noise absorbing railing and here is illustrated that the waves are jumping over the prior art railing and are broken apart when they strike the railing according to the invention, and
Fig. 5 shows a schematic side view in a larger scale of an opening gap located between two rods and how said noise sound waves are moving through the same and thereafter being dismissed.
A noise absorbing railing 1 according to a preferred embodiment example of the invention comprises next to each other but in a predetermined distance from each other positioned, rod formed element 2 being mounted between uprights 4 anchored into a ground. The elements 2, which are dimensioned to a high and length adapted to the mounting location and the traffic intensity, are in the illustrated example flexibly connected to each other by two, through the same extending cords or wires 3. Between the rod formed elements 2 spacers 5 are further provided in order to orient the same in a predetermined distance from each other in order to create in this way opening gaps 6. The rod formed elements 2 are here provided with a circular cross section form but of course any other suitable formation of said section can be used.
In respective end of a number of next to each other located elements 2 anchoring means are provided for mounting between said uprights 4. This can be carried out by aid of nut means 8 adjustably provided towards the mantle surface 7 of the uprights 4 during a simultaneous tensioning of the cords or wires 3 extending through the elements 2. Usually the noise absorbing railing 1 is manufactured in 25 meters sections in the way that a number of elements 2 in the form of sections 9 are intended to be tensioned between said uprights 4, so that a very flexible mounting is provided at the same time as an excellent connection towards the ground.
Concerning the spacers 5 the length of which in the longitudinal direction of the noise absorbing railing for forming of the opening gaps 6 between the elements 2, is a determining factor for the noise combat of the actual place of application. The length of the spacers 5 is thus determined depending on the high or low lengths of the arised sound waves 10 in order to strike apart or destroy the same as effective as possible. As is closer illustrated in Fig. 5 the sound waves 10 are disturbed by compression and when they are passing through the most narrow passage or opening gap 6 between the elements 2 a dys effect is arised of the waves at the same time as their movement forwards is disturbed by friction against the elements 2. Therefore they comprise preferable a surface, which is rough in order to increase said friction. Thereafter the sound waves 10 are disturbed by expansion and are losing their amplitude and a common confusion is current or with other words the sound waves are broken into pieces. This can be compared with water streaming and cavitation. Thus, one determines the dimension of the spacers 5, which can have the form of blocks, depending on the wave length of the noise disturbances e.g. dull and high sound, which gives small or big spacer blocks.
