Abstract

669,225. Fencing; slat fabrics. ANDERSON, J. W. May 25, 1950. [June 2, 1949; July 6, 1949; Feb. 21, 1950] No. 13198/50. Class 45. A portable fence or traction strip consists of a plurality of spaced, substantially parallel, slat like members 16 hinged together at two or more points in their lengths by a series of coupling devices each wound around a slat and locked to it by passing through it. Each coupling device comprises a wire having a loop 13 at one end by which it is linked to a neighbouring device, and two limbs 15, 17 which embrace the slat. Limb 17 has a U-shaped projection 18 which passes through a hole in the slat to be engaged by the limb 15 and the end of limb 17 after it has been passed round the side of the slat opposite to the loop 13, thus locking the coupling device to the slat. In a modification the U-shaped projection is omitted and the ends of the limbs pass through the aperture to engage the part of the limb 17 opposite the aperture. A washer may be provided on one or both sides of the aperture. Posts 24 may be attached to the slats by a clip 26 which has a loop 28 through which a stake may be passed to connect two posts together.
