Definitions

  • Absorbent baby diapers and incontinence products have been available in various designs on the European and world markets since the 1970s and are therefore state of the art.
  • these products consist of a central segment, consisting primarily of a suction element of pulp and supersorber (101), a back foil as a moisture barrier (102) and a skin side, partly air, partly moisture-open one or more part layer for entry of the urine o.a. in the absorbent core (103).
  • this segment is reinforced in its longitudinal direction by one or more prestressed elastic threads or elements (104), and optionally additionally in the transverse direction by elastic elements (105, 106) in the later waist direction of the diaper to ensure good body contact.
  • one or more pieces of adhesive tape / Velcro tape systems are attached to the back of the diaper which, when the diaper is applied, are brought into engagement with a landing zone (109) mounted on the front.
  • the term "diaper” is used for all absorbent products in the fields of baby hygiene, incontinence products, medical technology and feminine hygiene, the basic structure of which satisfies this description and whose function is the absorption of body fluids. Variations of this theme, such as in the type of execution of the closure system or the arrangement of the elastic elements, which are obvious to the expert, or are in a similar form on the market, are state of the art.
  • the stretchable zone is formed from a laminate of one or more substrates having segmented thremoplastic elastomers which can be stretched transversely by a suitable transverse activation process (WO 2005/096855 A1).
  • the elastic elements may consist of commercially available elastomers, which can be processed in the cured state in thread or strip form under a pre-strain of 50-450%, such as Lycra, Dorlastan, elastane, spandex (all names are RTM), synthetic or natural rubber, or the like, all hereinafter referred to as elastic threads.
  • the substrates may consist of nonwovens / nonwovens, film / foil, paper / pulp, laminates, or the like. as well as combinations thereof.
  • the connection of the components can be done by gluing, welding or mechanical connection.
  • FIG. 6a shows the simplest form of this design.
  • the elastic side panel consists of two sets of 50-450% pre-stretched elastic threads of 2-40 individual threads of 100-5000dTex, which are substantially parallel and equidistant within each group, but the two groups are angled in their respective principal directions of 3-45grd (in the stretched state) are positioned so that the forces exerted by the hook-and-loop fastener (608) in use are widely diverted into the bonding surface (601) to the diaper.
  • the bond between Velcro and the laminate can be improved by a "finger lift tab" (609) of film, nonwoven or paper, which is mounted on or between the substrates, whereby the ease of use when closing or opening the shutter is raised.
  • At least one of the substrates forming the framework of the side panel extends over the entire area of the side panel, including the anchoring zone (601) and the finger lift tab (609).
  • the anchoring (601) by gluing or welding can be carried out optionally on the outside of the diaper or between the backsheet and cover fleece, this anchoring zone being at a distance of 0-75 mm to the nearest outer edge of the diaper.
  • Variations of this embodiment result in such a way that the threads are arranged within each other at different distances from thread to adjacent thread of 1-25 mm,
  • the threads within the group are not arranged parallel to each other, but at an angle to each other from one thread to the next adjacent thread from -7grd to 7grd,
  • the threads are not straight in itself, but at each point have a radius of curvature of 10mm-100m, or also have one or more abrupt changes in direction ("kinks", see Figure 6c), as well as obvious combinations of these three modifications with each other.
  • a diaper receives the elastic properties of a bikini pant.
  • Figure 6c shows a further variation which is important for larger diapers (and in the incontinence area):
  • both mirror-image side panels of a diaper have one or more substrate layers in common, a constellation 6d results in which the side panel pairs extend their anchoring surface over virtually the entire back side of the diaper and thus contribute to the structural relief of the diaper and associated material savings.
  • the outer contour of the side panel i. the contour section through those areas which are formed only by the substrates and not by the elastic threads is predominantly of an aesthetic nature, as for the fit and elasticity of minor importance and can be executed in contrast to the contour of film-based side panel also free on aesthetic aspects.
