Definitions
- the invention relates to information devices and can be used in information and entertainment facilities, in the design of indoor and outdoor concert venues, concert halls, halls and stages of theaters, etc.
- the method consists in the fact that the formation of the desired image on the hemispherical screen — the dome, while using projection devices is ensured in the room.
- the final panoramic image is formed by the entire set of projection devices and is controlled by their movement above the dome surface.
- the implementation of this method requires large rooms in which the supporting structure of the dome and projection devices and the mechanisms of their movement are located, which, in turn, require the use of a significant part of the volume of the room, as well as part of the projection equipment located inside the dome.
- the information source is a computer that is connected to the corresponding projection device, made in the form of a laser projection unit or in the form of a light video projector with a liquid crystal matrix, and through the distribution block is connected to a software control device.
- Closest to the claimed is a method for creating panoramic images using multimedia projectors, providing the creation of panoramic images when projecting images onto screens from the outside, provided that the viewer is inside. Screens form a limited area of a quadrangular shape, and the viewer is inside.
- the disadvantage of this method is that to create the final image using screens that require additional mounting systems, image sources - multimedia projectors are located behind the screens, which further increases the size of the system, realizing the image.
- the area limited by screens allows you to create the effect of a panoramic image for a small number of viewers who are inside a small part of the room, limited by screens that form the area for projection of the image.
- this method for its implementation requires the use of a special system of fastening screens, the screens themselves, to ensure the formation of images and structures for placing projectors and does not allow mass events in large rooms due to the irrational use of the room [3].
- the known method requires appropriate active screens, implemented on the basis of liquid crystal or plasma panels, combined into a multi-section screen used to display visual information.
- An object of the invention is to provide the possibility of realizing the effect of the surrounding panoramic image used in the design of indoor and outdoor concert venues, concert halls, halls and stages of theaters, etc. when using the walls and ceiling of rooms with joints at an angle of 90. .
- the stated technical problem is solved due to the fact that the formation of a panoramic image in closed and open rooms, as well as sites, consists in first analyzing the room, determining the size of the image fragments and the number of projectors for projecting them, the final image is created from fragments, each of which projected by its computer-controlled projector, fragments of the final image are created on computing means in advance using any known software funds for Denmark three-dimensional (3D) graphics. To form a complete image created from fragments, the necessary number of projectors controlled by computers is used.
- Projectors that have small linear dimensions and are part of the design elements are placed in the space of the room so that the projected image fragments overlap the surrounding walls and the ceiling (or part of it), image fragments are calculated so that the overlap areas of the images projected by each projector when projecting them onto the walls and the ceiling did not exceed a value of one pixel.
- the walls onto which the image is projected have a joint at an angle of 90 degrees. The resulting image turns into a single whole, the joints between the walls cease to be noticeable.
- the inventive method provides the implementation of a panoramic circular image when projecting fragments of images on the walls and ceiling using typical, manufactured by industry, multimedia projectors controlled by computers. Moreover, the projected image does not have joints and optical transitions characteristic of the corners of rooms and the joints of the ceiling and walls.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating a method of forming an image from fragments projected onto the walls of a room by projectors, used in the design of indoor and outdoor concert halls, concert halls, halls and stages of theaters, etc., each of which is projected by its own projector.
- 1 is the projection surface
- 2 is the projector.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a method of forming a panoramic image by projecting onto walls, providing which allows the formation of a panoramic image from a finite number of fragments, each of which is created using a program for creating three-dimensional images - it is "shot" using a virtual camera.
- 1 is the room
- 2 is the projector projecting a fragment of the panoramic image 3 on the projection surface.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating the end result — part of a panoramic image.
- the method is as follows. First, they analyze the room in which the projection units are located - multimedia projectors, mass-produced by the manufacturer, controlled by a computer (s). The main condition is that the projectors must be located in the “dead” areas of the remaining projectors and not interfere with projection from other projectors (see the location of the projectors 1 in Fig. L). Further, surface measurements of walls and ceilings are made, and the area that is the location of the projection equipment, as well as the area of the room in which the effect will be observed, is evaluated. This is done in order to determine the sizes of fragments of images and the number of projectors for their projection. The minimum number of projectors used to create an image on a wall is one projector.
- Fig. 1 shows a diagram of the formation of a panoramic image on the projection surfaces (walls of the room) by the projectors 1.
- the fragments of the panoramic image are projected from the inside onto the walls, floor and ceiling (or a combination thereof). tion).
- the final image is created from fragments, each of which is projected by its projector, controlled by a computer on a projection surface. Projected fragments of the final image are created on computing means in advance using any known software for creating three-dimensional (3D) graphics.
- Image fragments are created taking into account the perspective and boundaries of the virtual room. In fact, each fragment is captured on a virtual camera. Each virtual camera “captures” that part of the virtual space that will become a fragment of the final panoramic image when projected. Projectors controlled by computers are placed in the space (Fig. 1) of the room so that the projected image fragments overlap the surrounding walls and ceiling (or part of it). The areas of overlapping light fluxes in the corners (joints) of the walls of the premises, floor and ceiling are specially evaluated. Fragments of images during their creation are calculated so that the areas of overlap of images when projecting them onto the walls and ceiling were minimal and amounted to a value not exceeding one pixel.
- the best option would be the option of calculating the size of the fragments when the overlap area at the borders of the fragments is 0 pixels.
- the image forming process is presented in figure 2. Walls, floor and ceiling of a real room, have joints at right angles. Image fragments are projected onto the walls (projection surface) by projectors, creating a virtual environment inside the real room (panoramic image).
- each fragment is calculated and prepared in advance taking into account the perspective of the final image, and Also, by adjusting the parameters of the images (image tilting, focusing, contrast, etc.), they ensure that the joints of the walls (walls, floor and ceiling) cease to be visible to the eye when viewing the projected image (in Fig. 3 the boundaries of the virtual room are shown conditionally, at the junction of the walls there are no borders and only the virtual environment is accessible to the eye).
- the full panoramic picture for the viewer becomes continuous, without joints in the corners of the room and the boundaries of the fragments.
- a single volumetric picture of the surrounding panoramic space is formed. With the simultaneous projection of fragments, taking into account the perspective on the walls, ceiling and floor, a complete closed spherical panoramic image is achieved. The effect of presence is achieved due to the fact that the image ceases to be fragmentary, but turns into a single whole. The maximum effect becomes available within a pre-defined indoor zone in indoor and outdoor concert venues, cinema and concert halls, halls and stages of theaters, etc.
