Description
Modular boat for transporting logs by water.
Domaine technique de l'invention.Technical Field of the Invention
The invention is in the field of transport of logs by water, such as by river, by sea or the like. It relates to a boat organized raft, intended to be loaded with logs for their transport by water.
Etat de la technique.State of the art
For the transport of logs by water, such as by river or by sea, towed oars for floating wood are commonly used. For non-floating timber, it is transported by barges or towed platforms from the forest yard to the loading of logs on a logging truck after sorting the logs and storing them at the timber port.
The different operators in charge of handling non-floating woods encounter difficulties with this method of loading, and the handling and transport of non-floating woods remains delicate. For example, foresters have platforms with surfaces and drafts that are too large to navigate certain shallow and / or shallow streams. Smaller plates are too small for heavy log loading. For example, such a difficulty of routing logs to log harbors induces log management problems for log harbor managers, such as scheduling and material availability issues.
In addition, the investment needed to purchase logs for the transport of logs, and the repair work and repair of these plates, involve additional production costs for the timber industry. In addition, the deadlines for obtaining such plates are long because of the workloads of the shipyards. Object of the invention
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a log shipping equipment, which is simple to perform and allows the transport of logs of non-floating wood in shallow water. It is more particularly the object of the present invention to provide a boat that is inexpensive to produce, and whose structure simplifies the work of operators at different stages of transport of logs, from the forest yard to the timber port. It is also the object of the present invention to provide such a boat whose maintenance and maintenance are simple and easily achievable. It is also the object of the present invention to provide such a boat whose structure makes it possible to keep the boat readily available, or even to make it adaptable to a particular need corresponding to a given volume of logs to be transported.
The boat of the present invention is intended for the transport of logs by water. This boat is mainly characterized in that it is composed of a plurality of floating boxes successively connected to each other by connecting means to jointly form a raft carrying logs.
These provisions are such that the boat is composed of a number N of boxes successively connected to each other, the number N of boxes being chosen according to extemporaneous needs according to the number of logs to be transported. The logs being partially immersed, the boxes only give the boat the additional buoyancy necessary. It will be noted that these provisions diverge from the habits of non-floating logs, the logs being usually loaded on plates or the like whose buoyancy is determined according to the overall weight of the logs to be transported. It follows that the boat of the present invention is likely to navigate in shallow waters. In addition, the structure of the boat makes it possible to adapt the number of boxes necessary for a given need. In addition, thanks to its modular nature, the boat allows to adapt its size to a given power of a tugboat. Moreover, the formation of the boat from caissons successively assembled to each other offers ease of use of the boat, and a reduced investment compared to the existing craft of the prior art, this investment being moreover likely to be progressive by the acquisition spread over time of a number N of boxes. In addition, the simplicity of structure of the boat makes it easy to refit, maintain and maintain. In addition, from a reserve of available boxes, the boat is likely to be operational permanently.
The connecting means between two adjacent boxes are more particularly constituted by at least one ring or the like, and an anchor member of this ring on each end box. This connection mode favors loading manipulations. According to another embodiment of said connecting means, these are constituted by a rope, the boxes being equipped with anchoring members of the ends of the rope. It should be noted that the use of a rope gives the connecting means between two adjacent caissons a flexibility of navigation curve of the waterway. In addition, the use of such ropes makes it possible to vary the space between two neighboring caissons according to the diameter of the log carried by these boxes.
The connecting means connecting two by two the boxes are likely to be formed by a single ring for two anchors. In the case of a use of cables connecting the two boxes in pairs, they are formed in particular by chains. The use of chains makes it easy to connect the boxes in pairs by exploiting the rings of the chains for their attachment, and by exploiting the pitch of the chain determined by the distance separating two neighboring rings to adjust the space separating two adjacent boxes such as than referred to above. Organs anchoring are for example constituted by hooks for receiving a chain link.
The profile of the boxes is of polygonal conformation, to form facets supporting logs from one to the other of two neighboring boxes.
According to a preferred embodiment, the profile of the boxes is of triangular shape.
As an indication, the dimensions of each of the caissons are for their base of the order of 1.80 m, for their height of the order of 1, 25 m and for their length of the order of 4 m. It will be understood, however, that these dimensions cited for example can be adapted as needed.
Preferably, the load-bearing faces of the caissons are provided with crampons for gripping the logs. The presence of the crampons on the support surfaces of the caissons provides effective maintenance of the logs. Moreover, the presence of the crampons makes it possible to provide a space between the logs and the faces of the boxes, this space being likely to be put to good use for the passage of slings intended for the handling of the logs, for their loading and for their landing in particular.
For safety reasons, it is preferred to provide the boat with at least one sling or the like, which successively connects the boxes to each other. The boxes comprises a sling passing member, for example formed of a ring formed at the top of the boxes. The sling is in particular fixed at its ends to the end boxes of the boat. Preferably, the sling is further circulated in hook rings driven into the logs, circulating successively from one to the other of the latter. The boxes are preferably made of steel. It should be noted, however, that this material constituting the boxes is only preferred, and that this material could be a different material without departing from the rules of the invention.
The invention also provides a method of loading logs on a previously referred boat. This method consists, from a number N of boxes to be used to form the boat, to connect two boxes between them and to place them in immersion. Then, the caissons are loaded into a log resting on two faces opposite the caissons. A new box is then connected to the previous boxes, and a new log is loaded. These operations are then repeated until the overall formation of the boat loaded with logs. The set N of boxes being connected in pairs, the method then comprises the step of securing on the first box a sling and to circulate this sling box caissons and logs in logs through the passage bodies. the sling equipping the caissons and the logs, up to the terminal box on which the sling is fixed.
When the boat arrives at the timber port, she is docked at the dock. The sling is removed and a crane unloads the boat, passing a sling of the unloading gantry around each end of the log. Note that the passage of this sling is facilitated by the space between the logs and the faces of the boxes, because of the presence of the crampons.
On caissons assembled for the transport of logs, it is possible to add similar boxes reversed and slid between the first boxes, so that a flat surface transport is arranged. Such a flat surface is likely to be used for the transport of various materials when the boat is brought empty to the forest yard. For example, for five caissons positioned for the logs, four inverted caissons are added, which provides a flat available surface of the order of 4 m by 7.2 m, for a maximum load of the order of 27. tons. More particularly, the boat is likely to advantageously comprise a first group of caissons carrying a second group of caissons overturned with respect to the orientation of the previous, to provide a planar surface for transporting equipment during the empty return of the boat to the forest yard.
Description des figures.Description of the figures.
The present invention will be better understood, and details will arise from the description that will be made in connection with the figures of the attached sheet, wherein:
The fιg.1 is a schematic view of a boat according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
Fig.2 is a detail of the boat shown in Fig.1, illustrating the juxtaposition of two boxes component.
In Fig.1, a boat for the transport of logs 1 is composed of a plurality of steel boxes 2 connected in pairs adjacent, through each of their end. These caissons 2 have a prismatic conformation, to bring two by two a log 1 housed between two adjacent faces of two adjacent caissons 2.
It will be understood that each end of the boxes is equipped with such a chain, or similar connecting means, such as a ring engaged on anchoring members that comprise the boxes. This chain 3 is engaged on the caissons 2 by means of its links, which are threaded onto hooks 4 that comprise the caissons 2 in the vicinity of their lateral ends. From the choice of the links used of the chain 3 for its attachment to the caissons 2, it is possible to adjust the distance separating two neighboring caissons 2 depending on the diameter of the log 1 to be transported. The faces of the caissons 2 carrying the log 1 are provided with crampons 5. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated, the crampons 5 are aligned along the width of the corresponding face of the caissons 2. However, it will be understood that this arrangement of the crampons 5 is preferred, and is capable of variation without departing from the rules of the invention that have been set forth. These crampons 5 not only allow to firmly hold the log 1 on the boat, but also allow to arrange between the log 1 and the carrying faces of the boxes 2 a passage for slings used for loading and unloading logs 1.
To secure the holding of the boat, a sling 6 connects all the caissons 2 and the logs 1 to each other. This sling 6 circulates inside rings 7 fitted to each of the caissons 2, and inside rings T anchored in the logs 1. The sling 6 is then fixed at its ends to the end caissons 2. the boat. According to the exemplary embodiment illustrated, this sling 6 is unique, but it should be understood that several slings 6 are capable of equipping the craft of the invention.
