Definitions

  • the invention relates to mobile phones and in particular to voice recording using mobile phones.
  • Such ability allows the subscriber of a mobile phone to keep the content of the discussion for different purposes.
  • a typical example is the necessity to keep a piece of evidence of what has been expressed at a given time and in a given context.
  • Another purpose is for example the desire to keep some piece of record for more personal reasons, for example to be able to hear the voice of the beloved person at any moment.
  • Another important ability of such system is to constitute an efficient notebook for storing at any moment some piece of practical information as a voice file rather than having to write it manually.
  • Using the handset as a recorder is immediate whereas finding a pencil and a piece of paper is sometimes tricky for example in the train or even while walking in the street.
  • the proposed phones with a recording ability still however imply some shortcomings.
  • One of the first shortcomings is the lack of confidentiality as to the stored voice files.
  • the proposed recording phones furthermore have poor abilities in terms of retrieving and using the stored voice files.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to allow an easier afterwards use of the piece of discussion. This aim is attained according to the invention by means of the method and by means of the device as recited in the appended claims.

  • the arrows 30 to 50 are represented between two interrupted vertical lines which vertical lines represent the two handsets 10 and 20. Arrows 30 to 50 spread from top (arrow 30) to bottom (arrow 50) as a function of the order in time when each period corresponding to an arrow occurs. Arrows 30 to 50 are thus placed on a time scale which extends from top to bottom. Arrow 30 is placed at the far top of figure 1 as representing a first period t o -ti of the conversation. Arrow 50 corresponds to a period t 2 -t 3 which terminates the conversation and is therefore at the far bottom of the time scale.
  • Period of time t o -ti is a classical piece of discussion between the holders of handsets 10 and 20. During this period, no particular substantive content is exchanged between the two speakers and they do not feel the necessity to record each other. Let's say at a certain moment t
