Definitions
- the invention relates to a variably angularly stable screw connection for osteosynthesis, comprising a screw with a screw head, which has a conical thread over at least one longitudinal section, an insert ball head ring, which has one or more slot-shaped openings, an implant plate with at least one bore, which has an outer shape of the insert ball head ring has a complementary shape, wherein the insert ball head ring is frictionally fixable in the plate via the screw head, according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a screw connection for osteosynthesis, in particular for fastening a tibial head plate, is previously known from German Utility Model DE 200 22 673 U1.
- the local screw connection comprises a screw whose head has a substantially conical section in the longitudinal direction. Furthermore, a ring is provided, the outer surface has a spherical or spherical segment shape and is open at one point or severed.
- an implant plate which comprises a bearing in the form of a bore and a bearing ring mounted therein for supporting the ring, wherein the inner surface of the bearing ring has a complementary shape to the outer surface of the ring, so that the ring arranged in the bearing ring is pivotable like a ball joint ,
- the ring is spread by the conical portion of the screw, whereby the outer surface of the ring can be pressed against the inner surface of the bearing ring, so that the angular position of the screw can be set virtually arbitrary relative to the implant.
- the local spreader for the screw thus has a spherical or spherical segment-shaped outer surface and an internal thread into which the provided with a corresponding conical external thread screw heads can be screwed. If the thread is tapered, then when tightening a stretching of the expanding ring with circumferential extension occurs.
- the expansion ring according to the above explanation is movably guided in the bearing ring, wherein the bearing ring in turn is fixedly mounted in the bore of the implant or an implant plate by clamping, welding, soldering, pressing or embedding.
- Spreader and screw act together with the presented bearing ring like a ball joint, which is determined by the conical section.
- the screw can thus, as already briefly explained, be screwed at different angles in the bone, wherein the angle is freely adjustable within predetermined limits due to the ball joint.
- an object of the invention to provide an advanced variable angularly stable screw for osteosynthesis, comprising a screw with a screw head, which has at least over a longitudinal section a conical thread to specify, the screw requires less parts, allows for easier production and ultimately helps to reduce the amount of otherwise necessary storage of plates and screws for the respective applications.
- variable angle stable screw for osteosynthesis according to feature combination according to claim 1, wherein the dependent claims include at least expedient refinements and developments.
- a conical thread complementary to the thread of the screw head is formed in the insert ball head ring, wherein a plurality of circumferentially spaced slot-like openings are provided in this ring, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the conical thread. debohrung, which is located in the head ring, run, the slit in the longitudinal axis is partially or completely executed.
- the spherical or ball-shaped bore or the amount of holes in the implant plate on the upper, bone-distant side on a conical lowering portion Furthermore, the spherical or ball-shaped bore or the amount of holes in the implant plate on the upper, bone-distant side on a conical lowering portion.
- the insert ball head ring can be inserted under bias in the respective bore of the plate and pre-fixed there.
- a very uniform force distribution when screwing in the associated screw is given with a conical head, so that a total of a very secure, non-positive connection between the ku- gelkopf with screwed screw and the plate in the selected angular position is possible.
- the slot-shaped openings are formed opposite one another in pairs according to an embodiment of the invention in the insert ball head ring.
- the slotting takes place wholly or partly in the longitudinal axis in any direction both from left to right and vice versa.
- an opposite pair of slot-shaped openings for bone distant and another pair is oriented to the bone near the plate side. This orientation refers to the open side of the slots.
- the slot-shaped openings are mutually parallel in the insert ball head ring introduced.
- the number of slot-shaped openings is three to eight, here again preferably four.
- the slot width of the openings is in the range between 0.3 mm and 1.0 mm, preferably between 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm.
- the length of the slot-shaped openings extends substantially over 70% to 80% of the height of the insert ball head rings.
- FIG. 1 shows a plan view and a sectional view through the insert ball head ring according to the invention
- Fig. 2 is a plan view and a sectional view of holes in the osteosynthesis plate with recognizable complementary shape with respect to the kugelkopfrings and formed on the bone distant side conical countersinking section and Fig. 3 is a sectional view of a used in a corresponding bore of an implant plate kugelkopfrings with indicated pivotability (arrow).
- the insert ball head ring for the formation of a variable angle stable screw connection has a spherical or spherical shape 1 with respect to its outer shape. Distributed on the circumferential side in the insert ball head ring in pairs spaced slot-shaped openings 2 are introduced, the pairwise opposite openings 2 are once oriented towards the bone and on the other bone-side plate side, as shown in FIG. 1, left part of the picture, recognize.
- the insert ball head ring has a tapered thread 3 which is complementary in both taper and pitch to threads of a bone screw with a corresponding conical screw head (not shown).
- the implant plate 4 has a number of holes 5, wherein those holes which are used for variable angularly stable screw, have a shape according to cross-sectional view of FIG. 2.
- the respective bore 5 is designed in the form of a spherical head 6 in the predominant region, with a conical countersunk section 7 being present on the upper, bone-distant side.
- the conical countersunk portion 7 in this case allows extreme lateral angular positions without the screw, not shown in FIG. 3, respectively, of the screw head coming into abutment with the respective plate edge, which would otherwise result in a restriction of the swivel angle.
- replaceable insert ball head rings 8 the same outer dimensions, but have adapted to different screw heads internal thread. In this way, it is possible to simplify the storage and reduce the costs of manufacturing, distribution and the use of implant plates with associated screws for producing corresponding screw.
- the implant plate is made of titanium or implant steel
- the insert ball head ring is made of a plastic material.
