技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、混練時等の高温処理時におけるスチレン系単量体の生成が抑制される スチレン系エラストマ一組成物に関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] スチレン系エラストマ一をはじめとする、一般的なエラストマ一は、溶融成形可能な ゴム状物質であり、射出成形、押出し成形、カレンダー成形等、通常用いられる成形 法により成形することができる。また、具体的用途としてはエラストマ一材料、シール 剤、改質剤、制振剤、粘着剤のベースポリマー、榭脂改質剤の成分として用いること ができる。
[0003] スチレン系エラストマ一は、上記の様な用途に用いられる場合、通常は成形後の耐 候性や耐熱性等の物性が良好であることが求められる。そのためにエラストマ一に対 してその使用目的にあわせた安定剤を添加する例が報告されている。
[0004] 例えば、特許文献 1には、エラストマ一にフエノール系化合物と耐候剤(紫外線吸収 剤や光安定剤)を加えて耐候性を向上させたエラストマ一組成物が開示されて ヽる。
[0005] またエラストマ一の例ではな 、が、特許文献 2には、シアンィ匕ビュル系単量体、芳 香族ビニル系単量体、及び、メタクリル酸メチル等のこれらと共重合可能な他の単量 体力ゝら構成されるゴム強化熱可塑性榭脂にフエノール系抗酸化剤とホスファイト系抗 酸化剤をともに混合することにより透明性、耐薬品性、色調安定性及び加工時の熱 安定性が均衡した榭脂組成物を作る方法が開示されている。
[0006] エラストマ一組成物に安定剤を添加する場合にはそれぞれの用途に適した品質と なるよう、組成物毎に詳細なポリマー比率及び安定剤の配合比率の下で混合される 。従来これらのエラストマ一組成物ゃ榭脂組成物は、工業製品等の工業用途におい て用いられることが多ぐこの場合においては、最終工業製品が耐候性や耐熱性等 の物性のスペックを確保している限り、ベース榭脂そのものの劣化などが問題となる ことはほとんど無力つた。 [0007] しかしながら、昨今の巿場ニーズから、近年、スチレン系エラストマ一組成物の用途 は広範囲にわたっており、工業用用途のみならず例えば食品容器や食品の包装等 の食品関連用途としても用いられるようになって!/、る。食品関連用途にお!、ては工業 製品等において重視された耐候性や耐熱性等の物性よりもむしろ安全性等が厳しく 求められることから、ベース榭脂の劣化や分解等による樹脂からの化学物質の揮発 や溶出は大きな問題となっている。そのような背景の下、残留モノマーに対する規制 なども厳しくなりつつあり、特にエラストマ一組成物中に含まれる環境ホルモンの疑い のあるスチレンモノマーの揮発や溶出が問題となりつつある。このようなスチレンモノ マーは混練時などの高温処理時に発生することが多いため、エラストマ一糸且成物中 の残留スチレン濃度を低減するために、混練時など高温処理時のスチレン系単量体 の生成が抑制されるスチレン系エラストマ一組成物を得るための技術確立が望まれ ていた。

発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0008] 本発明は、混練時等の高温処理時のスチレン生成が抑制され、食品関連用途等 にも好適に使用できる、スチレン系エラストマ一組成物を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段
[0009] 本発明者らは、スチレン生成が抑制される、スチレン系エラストマ一組成物につい て鋭意検討した結果、本発明を完成した。すなわち本発明は次の発明に関する。
(1)スチレン系エラストマ一、並びに、リン系酸化防止剤、又は、リン系酸化防止剤及 びフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤を含有してなるスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
(2)スチレン系エラストマ一、並びに、リン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤、又は、リ ンーフエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤及びフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤を含有してなるスチ レン系エラストマ一糸且成物。
(3)スチレン系エラストマ一がスチレン系単量体単位力 なるブロック及び脂肪族ォレ フィン系化合物単量体単位力 なるブロックよりなるブロック共重合体である上記スチ レン系エラストマ一糸且成物。
(4)ブロック共重合体中の脂肪族ォレフインィ匕合物よりなるブロックがイソブチレン単 量体単位を主体とするブロックである上記スチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
(5)スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン系酸ィ匕防止剤を 0. 1から 5重量 部含有する上記スチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
(6)スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン系酸ィ匕防止剤を 0. 1重量部以 上含有し、且つリン系酸ィヒ防止剤とフエノール系酸ィヒ防止剤とをこれらの合計部数が 5重量部以下となる量で含有する上記スチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
(7)スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン一フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止 剤を 0. 1から 5重量部含有する上記スチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
(8)スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン一フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止 剤を 0. 1重量部以上含有し、且つリン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤とフエノール 系酸化防止剤とをこれらの合計部数が 5重量部以下となる量で含有する上記スチレ ン系エラストマ一糸且成物。
(9)リン系酸ィ匕防止剤がホスファイト系酸ィ匕防止剤である上記スチレン系エラストマ一 組成物。
(10)フエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤がヒンダードフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤である上記スチ レン系エラストマ一糸且成物。
(11)混練時の温度が 150°C以上 300°C以下、混練時間 5分以上 30分以内の条件 において製造される事を特徴とする上記スチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
発明の効果
[0010] 本発明のスチレン系エラストマ一糸且成物を用いる事により、混練時等の高温処理時 のスチレン生成が抑制され、スチレン系エラストマ一糸且成物中の残留スチレン濃度を 低減することができる。
発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0011] 以下に本発明を詳細に説明する。本発明における「スチレン系エラストマ一」とは、 スチレン及びその誘導体のモノマー(以後「スチレン系単量体」と呼ぶ)を重合して得 られる重合体ブロックを構成単位として含むブロック共重合体である。スチレン系エラ ストマーの原料として使用されるスチレン系単量体としては特に限定されないが、ス チレン、 o—、 m—又は p—メチルスチレン、 α—メチルスチレン、 β—メチルスチレン 、 2, 6 ジメチルスチレン、 2, 4 ジメチルスチレン、 α—メチルー ο—メチルスチレ ン、 α—メチルー m—メチルスチレン、 α—メチルー ρ—メチルスチレン、 β —メチル —ο—メチルスチレン、 j8—メチルー m—メチルスチレン、 j8—メチルー p—メチルス チレン、 2, 4, 6 トリメチルスチレン、 α—メチルー 2, 6 ジメチルスチレン、 α—メ チルー 2, 4 ジメチルスチレン、 13ーメチルー 2, 6 ジメチルスチレン、 13 メチル - 2, 4ージメチノレスチレン、 ο—、 m—又は ρ—クロロスチレン、 2, 6 ジクロロスチレ ン、 2, 4 ジクロロスチレン、 α—クロロー o クロロスチレン、 α—クロロー m—クロ口 スチレン、 ひ一クロロー p—クロロスチレン、 ;8—クロロー o クロロスチレン、 β —クロ 口一 m—クロロスチレン、 β—クロ口一 ρ クロロスチレン、 2, 4, 6 トリクロロスチレン 、 α—クロロー 2, 6 ジクロロスチレン、 α クロロー 2, 4 ジクロロスチレン、 β —ク ロロ一 2, 6 ジクロロスチレン、 j8—クロ口一 2, 4 ジクロロスチレン、 o—、 m—又は p—t—ブチノレスチレン、 o—、 m—又は p—メトキシスチレン、 o—、 m—又は p—クロ口 メチルスチレン、 o—、 m—又は p ブロモメチルスチレン、シリル基で置換されたスチ レン誘導体等が挙げられる。更に好ましいスチレン系単量体としては、スチレン、 a ーメチルスチレン、 p—メチルスチレン力 なる群力 選ばれた 1種以上の単量体を使 用することが好ましぐコストの面からスチレン、 aーメチルスチレン、あるいはこれらの 混合物を用いることが特に好まし 、。
[0012] 本発明におけるスチレン系エラストマ一は、スチレン系単量体とスチレン系単量体 以外の単量体をブロック共重合させて得られたものである。このようなスチレン系単量 体以外の単量体としては特に限定されな!、が、カチオン重合可能な単量体成分であ ることが好ましぐ好適な例としては脂肪族ォレフイン類、ジェン類、ビュルエーテル 類、シラン類、ビュルカルバゾール、 13 ビネン、ァセナフチレン等の単量体が挙げ られる。これらは 1種又は 2種以上組み合わせて使用される。
[0013] 上記脂肪族ォレフイン系単量体としては、エチレン、プロピレン、 1ーブテン、 2—メ チルー 1ーブテン、 3—メチルー 1ーブテン、イソブチレン、ペンテン、へキセン、シク 口へキセン、 4ーメチルー 1 ペンテン、ビュルシクロへキセン、オタテン、ノルボルネ ン等が挙げられる。
[0014] 上記ジェン系単量体としては、ブタジエン、イソプレン、シクロペンタジェン、シクロ へキサジェン、ジシクロペンタジェン、ジビュルベンゼン、ェチリデンノルボルネン等 が挙げられる。
[0015] 上記ビュルエーテル系単量体としては、メチルビ-ルエーテル、ェチルビ-ルエー テル、 (n—、イソ)プロピルビュルエーテル、 (n—、 sec—、 tert—、イソ)ブチルビ- ノレエーテノレ、メチノレプロぺニノレエーテノレ、ェチノレプロぺニノレエーテノレ等が挙げられ る。

[0017] この中でも、本発明におけるスチレン系エラストマ一については、スチレン系単量体 と脂肪族ォレフイン系単量体を共重合させて得られるブロック共重合体であるが好ま しぐスチレン系単量体単位力 なるブロック及び脂肪族ォレフイン系化合物単量体 単位力もなるブロックよりなるブロック共重合体がより好ま 、。また物性等が良好なこ とから、上記脂肪族ォレフイン系単量体単位からなるブロックがイソブチレン単量体単 位を主体とするブロックであることが好まし 、。

法 (例えば米国特許第 4276394号公報に開示されている方法)を用いて、分子量が 制御されたイソプチレンの重合体を形成させ、引き続きスチレン系単量体を添加して 共重合させることで製造されるスチレン系エラストマ一が好適に適用できる。
[0019] またスチレン系単量体を重合することにより得られる重合体ブロックは、スチレン系 単量体以外の単量体を含んでいても含んでいなくても良ぐ通常、スチレン系単量体 を 60重量%以上、好ましくは 80重量%以上含有する単量体成分から構成される。ス チレン系単量体以外の単量体としてはカチオン重合可能な単量体であれば特に制 限はないが、例えば上記の脂肪族ォレフイン類、ジェン類、ビュルエーテル類、シラ ン類、ビュルカルバゾール、 13 ビネン、ァセナフチレン等の単量体が挙げられる。
[0020] スチレン系単量体を主体として構成される重合体ブロックとスチレン系単量体以外 の単量体を主体として構成される重合体ブロックの割合に関しては、特に制限はな 、 力 各種物性の面から、スチレン系単量体を主体として構成される重合体ブロックが 5から 60重量%、スチレン系単量体以外の単量体を主体として構成される重合体ブ ロックが 95から 40重量%であることが好ましぐスチレン系単量体を主体として構成さ れる重合体ブロックが 15から 50重量%、スチレン系単量体以外の単量体を主体とし て構成される重合体ブロックが 85から 50重量%であることが特に好ましい。
[0021] またスチレン系エラストマ一の分子量にも特に制限はないが、流動性、加工性、物 '性等の面力ら、数平均分子量で 30000〜500000であること力 S好ましく、 50000〜4 00000であることが特に好ま U、。スチレン系エラストマ一の数平均分子量が上記範 囲より低い場合には機械的な物性が十分に発現されない傾向にあり、一方、上記範 囲を超える場合には流動性、加工性の面で不利となるおそれがある。なおここでいう 数平均分子量はクロ口ホルムを移動相として、ポリスチレンゲルカラムを使用した GP C測定を行ない、ポリスチレン換算の分子量として求めたものである。このような GPC 測定は例えば Waters社製 GPCシステム(カラム:昭和電工 (株)製 ShodexK— 804 (ポリスチレンゲル) )等を用いて測定することができる。

[0068] 以下、実施例により本発明をさらに具体的に説明する。なお、本発明はこれらの実 施例によって何ら限定されるものではなぐ本発明の範囲内において適宜変更可能 である。
[0069] (スチレン濃度の測定方法)
スチレン系エラストマ一のペレットとリン系酸ィ匕防止剤、リン系酸化防止剤及びフエノ ール系酸化防止剤、リン—フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤、又は、リン—フエノール複 合系酸化防止剤及びフエノール系酸化防止剤を、 250°Cの設定温度にてミル混練 機 (東洋製作所製)を用いて 10分間混練して組成物を調製し、混練前のペレット及 び混練後の組成物中のスチレン濃度を測定した。測定方法 ¾JIS K6869に準じ、 混練前のペレット又は混練後の組成物をクロ口ホルムに溶解させ、ガスクロマトグラフ ィ一にてスチレン濃度を測定した。
[0070] (製造例 1)
攪拌機付き 200L反応容器に、 1—クロロブタン (モレキュラーシーブスで乾燥したも の) 69. 4kg、へキサン(モレキュラーシーブスで乾燥したもの) 36. 5kg、 1, 4—ビス ( α—クロル—イソプロピル)ベンゼン 65. 3g及びジメチルァセトアミド 49. 2gを加え た。反応容器を一 70°Cに冷却した後、イソブチレン 12. 8kgを添加した。さらに四塩 化チタン 1. 5kgを加えて重合を開始し、—70°Cで溶液を攪拌しながら 90分反応さ せた。次いで反応溶液にスチレン 5. 5kgを添加し、さらに 60分反応を続けた後、反 応溶液を大量の水中へあけて反応を停止させた。さらに水相中の電気伝導度が 50 μ S以下となるまで水洗を繰り返し行った。得られたドープは蒸発機により溶剤を留 去したのち、押出機を用いてペレツトイ匕した。

ドープを得るまでは製造例 1と同様であるが、得られたドープと同量の水と少量の乳 ィ匕剤を加え、撹拌下で懸濁させたところに蒸気により加熱し溶剤を留去した。組成物 は水中でクラムとなって得られ、脱水機により固液分離した後、乾燥しクラム榭脂を得 た。

製造例 1で作成したペレットを熱風乾燥により乾燥し、ペレット中のスチレン濃度が 0 . 2ppm以下となるようにした。このペレット 100重量部に対しリン一フエノール複合系 酸ィ匕防止剤 (スミライザ一 GP、住友化学社製) 0. 2重量部とフエノール系酸ィ匕防止 剤(Irganoxl010、チノく'スペシャルティ'ケミカルズ社製) 0. 5重量部を添加し、ミル 混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練した。混練後のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物 中のスチレン濃度を測定したところ、 0. 2ppm以下であった。

実施例 1と同様にペレットを乾燥し、得られたペレット 100重量部に対しホスファイト 系酸ィ匕防止剤(アデカスタブ PEP— 8、旭電化社製) 0. 2重量部とフエノール系酸ィ匕 防止剤(Irganoxl010、チノく'スペシャルティ'ケミカルズ社製) 0. 5重量部を添加し 、ミル混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練した。混練後のスチレン系エラストマ一組 成物中のスチレン濃度を測定したところ、 0. 2ppm以下であった。

実施例 1と同様にペレットを乾燥し、得られたペレット 100重量部に対しリン―フエノ ール複合系酸化防止剤 (スミライザ一 GP、住友化学社製) 0. 2重量部のみ添加した 。ミル混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練したところ、混練後のスチレン系エラスト マー糸且成物中のスチレン濃度は 0. 2ppm以下であった。

製造例 2で作成したクラム榭脂を用いる以外は実施例 1と同様に、クラム榭脂 100 重量部に対しリン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤 (スミライザ一 GP、住友化学社製) 0. 2重量部とフエノール系酸化防止剤(Irganoxl010、チノく'スペシャルティ'ケミカ ルズ社製) 0. 5重量部を添加し、ミル混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練した。混 練後のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物中のスチレン濃度を測定したところ、 0. 2ppm 以下であった。

製造例 2で作成したクラム榭脂を用いる以外は実施例 2と同様に、クラム榭脂 100 重量部に対しホスファイト系酸ィ匕防止剤(アデカスタブ PEP— 8、旭電化社製) 0. 2 重量部とフエノール系酸化防止剤(Irganoxl010、チノく'スペシャルティ'ケミカルズ 社製) 0. 5重量部を添加し、ミル混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練した。混練後 のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物中のスチレン濃度を測定したところ、 0. 2ppm以下 であった。 [0077] (実施例 6)

実施例 1と同様にペレットを乾燥し、得られたペレット 100重量部に対しフエノール 系酸ィ匕防止剤(アデカスタブ AO— 30、旭電化社製) 0. 2重量部のみ添加した。ミル 混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練したところ、混練後のスチレン系エラストマ一組 成物中のスチレン濃度は 5ppmであった。

実施例 1と同様にペレットを乾燥し、得られたペレット 100重量部に対しフエノール 系酸化防止剤 (スミライザ一 GS、住友化学社製) 0. 2重量部のみ添加した。ミル混練 機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練したところ、混練後のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物 中のスチレン濃度は 5ppmであった。

製造例 2で作成したクラム榭脂を用いて、クラム榭脂 100重量部に対しフエノール系 酸化防止剤(Irganoxl010、チノく'スペシャルティ'ケミカルズ社製) 0. 5重量部のみ 添加した、ミル混練機を用いて 250°C X 10分間混練した。混練後のスチレン系エラ ストマー組成物中のスチレン濃度を測定したところ、 3ppmであった。
[0082] 以上の実施例、比較例の結果力も分力るようにホスファイト系酸ィ匕防止剤とフエノー ル系酸ィ匕防止剤を併用した場合 (実施例 2、 5)、リン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤 を単独で用いた場合 (実施例 3、 6)、及び、リン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤とフ ェノール系酸ィ匕防止剤を併用した場合 (実施例 1、 4)にはいずれも混練時のスチレ ン発生が抑制され、混練後の残留スチレン濃度が低いものが得られた。一方フエノー ル系酸ィ匕防止剤を単独で用いた場合 (比較例 1、 2)においては混練後の残留スチレ ン濃度は顕著に増加していた。以上のことから、本願発明にかかる組成物では、混 練時等の高温処理時のスチレン系単量体の生成が効果的に抑制されることが示され た。
産業上の利用可能性
本発明の製造法により得られたスチレン系エラストマ一組成物は種々の用途に使 用できる。具体的には、食品容器や食品包装等の食品関連用途、日用雑貨、玩具' 運動用具用途、文具用途、自動車内外装用途、土木 ·建築用途、家電機器用途、衣 料 ·履物用途、医療用途、衛生用品、包装輸送資材、電線用途等に利用可能である 。特に残留スチレン濃度が低いことから食品容器や食品包装用の用途に適している

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] スチレン系エラストマ一、並びに、リン系酸化防止剤、又は、リン系酸化防止剤及び フエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤を含有してなるスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
[2] スチレン系エラストマ一、並びに、リン—フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤、又は、リン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤及びフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤を含有してなるスチレ ン系エラストマ一糸且成物。
[3] スチレン系エラストマ一がスチレン系単量体単位力もなるブロック及び脂肪族ォレフ イン系単量体単位力 なるブロックよりなるブロック共重合体である請求項 1又は 2記 載のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
[4] ブロック共重合体中の脂肪族ォレフイン系単量体単位力 なるブロックがイソブチレ ン単量体単位を主体とするブロックである請求項 3記載のスチレン系エラストマ一組 成物。
[5] スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン系酸ィ匕防止剤を 0. 1から 5重量部 含有する請求項 1、 3又は 4のいずれかに記載のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
[6] スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン系酸ィ匕防止剤を 0. 1重量部以上 含有し、且つリン系酸ィ匕防止剤とフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤とをこれらの合計部数が 5 重量部以下となる量で含有する請求項 1、 3又は 4のいずれかに記載のスチレン系ェ ラストマー組成物。
[7] スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン—フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤 を 0. 1力 5重量部含有する請求項 2〜4の!、ずれかに記載のスチレン系エラストマ 一組成物。
[8] スチレン系エラストマ一 100重量部に対して、リン—フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤 を 0. 1重量部以上含有し、且つリン フエノール複合系酸ィ匕防止剤とフエノール系 酸ィ匕防止剤とをこれらの合計部数が 5重量部以下となる量で含有する請求項 2〜4の いずれかに記載のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
[9] リン系酸ィ匕防止剤がホスファイト系酸ィ匕防止剤である請求項 1、 3〜6のいずれかに 記載のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
[10] フエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤がヒンダードフエノール系酸ィ匕防止剤である請求項 1〜4、 6又は 8のいずれかに記載のスチレン系エラストマ一組成物。
混練時の温度が 150°C以上 300°C以下、混練時間 5分以上 30分以内の条件にお いて製造される事を特徴とする、請求項 1〜: L0のいずれかに記載のスチレン系エラ ストマー糸且成物。
