Abstract

L’invention concerne un appareil et un procédé appliqués à un dispositif médical à ultrasons (11) doté d’une commande à fréquence variable servant à l’ablation d’une matière biologique (16), comprenant une sonde à ultrasons (15) comportant une extrémité proximale (31), une extrémité distale (24) séparées d’un axe longitudinal ; un transducteur qui commande la sonde à ultrasons (15) sur une plage de fréquences variables, en créant une vibration ultrasonore transversale le long d’une partie au moins de l’axe longitudinal de la sonde à ultrasons (15) ; un raccord (33) emboîtant l’extrémité proximale (31) de la sonde à ultrasons (15) sur l’extrémité distale (86) du transducteur ; et une source d’énergie ultrasonore (99) emboîtée sur le transducteur et produisant de l’énergie ultrasonore. L’invention est caractérisée en ce que la commande de la sonde à ultrasons (15) sur la plage de fréquences variables permet à l’énergie ultrasonore de se propager le long d’un coude de la sonde à ultrasons (15) pour réaliser l’ablation du matériau biologique communiquant avec la sonde à ultrasons (15).
