Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.外科用超音波装置において、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第一ト ランスデューサ組部と、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第二ト ランスデューサ組部と、 第一端及び第二端を有する第一伝送ロッドとを具備し、該第一伝送ロッド は、第一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第 一伝送ロッドの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、第一伝送ロッドの第 一端は、第一トランスデューサ組部に連結され、更に 第一端及び第二端を有する第二伝送ロッドを具備し、該第二伝送ロッドは 、第一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第二 伝送ロッドの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、第二伝送ロッドの第一 端は、第二トランスデューサ組部に連結され、更に 第一端及び第二端を有する第一エンドエフェクタを具備し、該第一エンド エフェクタは、第一伝送ロッドからの超音波振動を受信して、該振動を第一エン ドエフェクタの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、該第一エンドエフェ クタの第一端は、伝送ロッドの第二端に連結され、該第一エンドエフェクタの第 二端は、配置され、更に 第一端及び第二端を有する第二エンドエフェクタを具備し、該第二エンド エフェクタは、第二伝送ロッドからの超音波振動を受信して、該振動を第二エン ドエフェクタの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成 され、該第二エンドエフェクタの第一端は、伝送ロッドの第二端に連結され、該 第二エンドエフェクタの第二端は、アンチノード付近に配置されることを特徴と する外科用超音波装置。 2.第一エンドエフェクタは、第二エンドエフェクタと異なる周波数で振動する ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 3.第一エンドエフェクタは、第二エンドエフェクタに対し180°の位相差で 振動することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 4.第一及び第二トランスデューサ組部にエネルギーを供給する発振器を具備す ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 5.外科用超音波装置において、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第一ト ランスデューサ組部と、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第二ト ランスデューサ組部と、 第一端及び第二端を有する第一伝送要素とを具備し、該第一伝送要素は、 第一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第一伝 送要素の第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、更に 第一端及び第二端を 有する第二伝送要素を具備し、該第二伝送要素は、第二トランスデューサ組部か らの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第二伝送要素の第一端から第二端へ 伝送するよう構成されることを特徴とする外科用超音波装置。 6.電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第三トラ ンスデューサ組部と、 第一端及び第二端を有する第三伝送要素とを具備し、該第三伝送 要素は、第三トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動 を第三伝送要素の第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成されることを特徴とする 請求項5に記載の装置。 7.第一伝送要素は、第一トランスデューサ組部に連結され、第二伝送要素は、 第二トランスデューサ組部に連結されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置 。 8.一以上の音響組部は、実質的に円形の断面を有することを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の装置。 9.一以上の音響組部は、実質的に半円形の断面を有することを特徴とする請求 項5に記載の装置。 10.一以上の音響組部は、実質的に方形の断面を有することを特徴とする請求 項5に記載の装置。 11.トランスデューサ組部にエネルギーを供給する発振器を更に有することを 特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。 12.第一及び第二伝送要素は、互いに独立して操作されることを特徴とする請 求項5に記載の装置。 13.第一及び第二伝送要素は、異なる周波数で振動するよう構成されることを 特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。 14.第一伝送要素は、第二伝送要素に対して180°の位相差で振動すること を特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。 15.外科用装置において、 第一トランスデューサ組部及び第二トランスデューサ組部を保持するハウ ジングと、 該第一及び第二トランスデューサは複数の圧電素子を各々含み、 第一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信するよう構成される第 一エンドエフェクタと、 第二トランスデューサからの超音波振動を受信するよう構成される第二エ ンドエフェクタとを具備することを特徴とする外科用装置。 16.第一トランスデューサの圧電素子は、第二トランスデューサ組部の各圧電 素子と反対の極性を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。 17.第一及び第二トランスデューサ組部は、各々四つの圧電素子を有すること を特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。 18.第一トランスデューサ組部の圧電素子は、第二トランスデューサ組部の圧 電素子と反対の極性を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。 19.第一エンドエフェクタは、第二エンドエフェクタに対し180°の位相差 で振動することを特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。 20.外科用装置において、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第一ト ランスデューサ組部と、 電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振動するよう構成される第二ト ランスデューサ組部と、 第一端及び第二端を有する第一伝送ワイヤとを具備し、該第一伝送ワイヤ は、第一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第 一伝送ワイヤの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、更に 第一端及び第二端を有する第二伝送ワイヤを具備し、該第二伝送 ワイヤは、第二トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振 動を第二伝送ワイヤの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成されることを特徴と する外科用装置。 22.第一端及び第二端を有する第一エンドエフェクタを更に具備し、該エンド エフェクタは、第一伝送ワイヤからの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第 一エンドエフェクタの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、更に 第一端及び第二端を有する第二エンドエフェクタを具備し、該第二エンド エフェクタは、第二伝送ワイヤからの超音波振動を受信して、該超音波振動を第 二エンドエフェクタの第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成されることを特徴と する請求項20に記載の外科用装置。 23.第一及び第二エンドエフェクタの直径は、0.1mmから5mmであることを 特徴とする請求項22に記載の装置。 24.伝送ワイヤは、カテーテルの管腔を貫通して延びることを特徴とする請求 項22に記載の装置。 25.トランスデューサ組部に電気エネルギーを送る発振器を更に具備すること を特徴とする請求項22に記載の装置。 26.外科用装置において、 ハウジングによって保持される複数の音響組部を具備し、各音響組部は、 一つのトランスデューサ組部及び一つのエンドエフェクタを含み、 各エンドエフェクタは、所定の周波数で振動するよう構成されることを特 徴とする外科用装置。 27.患者の組織に超音波効果を生じさせる方法において、 各トランスデューサ組部により各々駆動される複数のエンドエフェクタを 提供し、 該エンドエフェクタを、患者の組織の近傍に位置決めし、 複数のエンドエフェクタを、所定の周波数で振動させ、 組織とエンドエフェクタを接触させる工程を含むことを特徴とする方法。 28.患者の体内の組織を破壊する方法において、 トランスデューサ組部により各々駆動される複数のエンドエフェクタを有 するカテーテルを患者の心臓血管系に挿入し、 心臓血管系を通じてカテーテルを所望の領域に到達するまで前進させ、 エンドエフェクタの先端を振動させ、 エンドエフェクタを組織の近傍の位置まで導き、 エンドエフェクタを該組織から退避させる工程を含むことを特徴とする方 法。 29.前進、切開、退避という工程を繰り返すことを特徴とする請求項28に記 載の方法。 30.外科用超音波装置において、 ハウジングと、 ハウジングによって保持される第一及び第二トランスデューサ組部とを具 備し、該トランスデューサ組部は、電気エネルギーに応答して超音波周波数で振 動するよう構成され、更に ハウジングに連結可能なカテーテル体を具備し、該カテーテル体は、第一 端及び第二端及びそれらを縦方向に貫通して延びる一以上の管 腔を有し、該カテーテル体は、患者の血管系の血管内に位置決めされるよう構成 され、更に カテーテルを貫通して縦方向に延びる第一及び第二可撓伝送ロッドを具備 し、第一及び第二伝送ロッドは、第一端及び第二端を有し、第一伝送ロッドは第 一トランスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信し、第二伝送ロッドは第二トラ ンスデューサ組部からの超音波振動を受信して、各伝送ロッドの第一端から第二 端へ該超音波振動を伝送するよう構成され、更に 第一伝送ロッドの第二端に連結される第一エンドエフェクタと、第二伝送 ロッドの第二端に連結される第二エンドエフェクタとを具備し、第一エンドエフ ェクタは、第一伝送ロッドからの超音波振動を受信し、第二エンドエフェクタは 、第二伝送ロッドからの超音波振動を受信して、該振動を各エンドエフェクタの 第一端から第二端へ伝送するよう構成され、第一及び第二エンドエフェクタは、 カテーテルの第二端を越えて延びて組織と接触することを特徴とする外科用超音 波装置。 31.外科用装置において、 管腔を構成するカテーテルと、 カテーテルにより、カテーテルの長さに渡って保持される複数のトランス デューサ組部と、 複数のエンドエフェクタとを具備し、各エンドエフェクタは、一つのトラ ンスデューサ組部に連結され、該トランスデューサ組部に対して先端方向に延び ており、各エンドエフェクタの先端は振動することを特徴とする外科用装置。 32.組織を破壊する方法において、 トランスデューサ組部を各々有する複数の音響組部を含む外科用装置を提 供し、 該外科用装置にエネルギーを供給して、音響組部の端部を振動させ、 該音響組部の端部を患者の組織に接触させる工程を含むことを特徴とする 方法。 33.外科用装置において、 複数のエンドエフェクタとを保持するカテーテルと、 各々異なる周波数で作動可能な複数のエンドエフェクタとを具備すること を特徴とする外科用装置。
