  • the consistency check is designed to verify whether all the numbers printed on the sheet exactly match those in the set numbering sequence. Alphanumeric sequences can also be checked.
  • the quality or legibility check ensures that all the characters making up the numbers are legible, that is to say, that the amount of ink is correct. In the event of a number whose degree of legibility is low but acceptable to within specified parameters, the system accepts it but emits a warning signal. If all the digits forming part if the number are correctly printed, the sheet proceeds along its path and is fed by the outfeed chain 21 and placed on the first outfeed pile 22 of printed sheets or on the second outfeed pile 23 of printed sheets. Before checking starts on the first sheet, a second sheet is engaged by the grippers of the cylindrical platen 17. This means that when the check on one sheet has been completed, the upper numbering cylinder 18 has already started numbering the next sheet. During normal operation, some of the numbered sheets are fed out onto the first outfeed pile 22 while others are fed out onto the second outfeed pile 23: the criteria to be followed by the system to place the sheets on one pile or the other are ' selected by the operator.

When the cause of the error has been eliminated and the numbering units correctly reset, the operator can resume normal operation.

  • the machine accepts it but emits a warning signal.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de commande d'une machine à numéroter destinée à numéroter séquentiellement des billets de banques, des effets publics, des billets de loterie ou autres documents. La machine de l'invention est du type qui comprend: un alimentateur feuille à feuille (13), un contrôleur de feuilles et détecteur de double feuille (14), un cylindre d'alimentation en feuilles (15), un cylindre de transfert (16), une platine cylindrique (17) présentant deux segments arciformes, un cylindre de numérotation supérieur (18) et un cylindre de numérotation inférieur (19). La machine comprend également une chaîne de sortie des feuilles (21) qui crée une première pile (22) de feuilles imprimées et une seconde pile (23) de feuilles imprimées. Le dispositif de commande comprend au moins un dispositif de contrôle optique (30) monté en ligne à proximité de la platine cylindrique (17) et juste en aval de l'unité de numérotation constituée par le cylindre (19).
