Abstract

A combination of jute as the base, wool as loop in the carpet or rug as product is unique. The construction of wool loop on top of jute based construction done on traditional handlooms make it a unique product in its segment. This technique can be used to weave any form of design/shape/pattern and size. This also can be made in a different variety of colours.

Description

WOOL LOOP ON JUTE BASED CARPETS AND RUGS Field of Invention

This invention in general relates to textile technology. More particularly this invention relates to manufacturing of carpets and rugs. In particular this invention relates to carpets and rugs made of jute and wool. This invention relates to a manufacturing process of carpets and rugs having wool loop on jute base.

Prior Art

This is for the very first time a product being developed with jute as the base and wool as loop. Though people have developed carpets or rugs, a combination of wool and jute is being done to give a better attraction, more versatility and variants of design.

Summary of Invention

The inventor has made a great effort to provide a method to meet the requirements of the industry and to overcome the problem associated in the prior art.

According to another object of invention there is provided a method to improve the product so that it is unique, rugged and economical.

Another object of the invention is to employ traditional and conventional method of weaving in order to manufacture carpets and rugs.

Another object of the invention is to employ wool and jute being natural products as raw material for manufacture of carpets and rugs. 48

Another object of invention is to invent a novel method of manufacturing rugs and carpets, which provide increased softness because of formation of wool loops on the surface of jute^'.

To achieve the above object according to first feature of the invention there is a method provided to improve the quality of the product. At the outset of the description which follows it is to be understood that ensuing description only illustrate a particular form of this invention. However, such particular form is only an exemplary embodiment without intending to imply any limitation on the scope of this invention. Accordingly, the description is to be understood as any exemplary embodiment and reading of the invention is not intended to be taken restrictively.

The above and other objects, features and disadvantages will be clear from the following description of preferred embodiment taken in conjunction with accompanying drawings. The foregoing description is outlined rather broadly preferred and alternative feature of the present invention so that those skilled in the art may better understand the detailed description of the invention that follows. Additional features of the invention will be described hereinafter that forms the subject of the claims of the invention. Those skilled in the art should appreciate that they can readily use the disclosed conception and specific embodiment as a basis for designing and modifying other structures for carrying out the same purposes of the invention. Those skilled in the art should realize such equivalent conception do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention in its broadest form.

DETAILED DESRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT OF INVENTION The construction of wool loop on top of jute base construction done on traditional handlooms make it a unique product in its segment. This technique can be used to weave any form of design/shape/pattern and size.

This also can be made in a different variety of colours.

Now the invention will be described in detail with reference to the 95 following description bearing the sequence of. manufacturing process in order to obtain carpets and rugs having wool loop on jute base is described in detail.

Manufacturing process

The function of this product is for floor covering with or without latex 100 backing. Jute and wool is used for making the product.

General Construction

The weaving operations are done in the conventional looms. Three separate beams are required for this product. One is for tight warp thread, the other is for slack warp threads and the third is for loop warp thread. As usual all the tight warp threads, slack warp threads and loop warp threads are drawn 110 through the respective mail eyes of the heald and then through the reed spaces. These threads are tied on the cloth roller. Three threads pass through one dent of the reed. The healds are connected to the corresponding treadle according to the tie up and treadling plan. The treadles operate according to the treadling plan.

115 The base weave of this product is regular boucle weave. 2Nm 3 Ply wool yarn forms the loops. The ply and diameter of wool yarn and jute yam can also be changed according to the requirement of square meter weight of the product. This wool loop passes in between two slack warp threads and one tight warp thread. Unlike the other loop products, in this process the wool

120 loop yarn passes in between two adjacent slack jute warp threads and outer sides of tight warp thread.

To begin with two to three boucle ribs are formed. Then only the loop formation starts as described. All the slack and loop ends are lifted. The loop end is slightly lifted above than the slack end. Then the weft is

125 inserted just above the tight chain and also the loop rod is inserted just above the formation of slack rib and below the top most loop wool end. Just after this operation all the slack and the loop ends are pulled down, then a weft is inserted just below the tight chain and beats the sley. Again the slack chain alone pulled up and inserts the weft and then the slack

130 chains pulled down and beats the sley. Thus a boucle rib is formed. Then again the loop and slack chains are pulled up and inserts the weft just above the tight chain. As the loop chain ends are naturally pulled little more up than the slack, the loop rod is passed just above the slack. Again the slack chain and loop are pulled down which follows the sley beats. Then the weft is passed just below the tight chain. This operation repeats and forms the 135 carpet

Salient features of the product

1. The product because of its uniqueness in construction increases the aesthetic design.

2. Traditional and conventional methods of weaving are used for the 140 nianufacturing of the product.

3. Both wool and jute are natural products whereby carpets and rugs are environment friendly.

4. The products provide increased softness because of the wool loops formed on the surface of jute.

Claims

1. A method of manufacturing Carpets And Rugs having wool loop on jute base comprises of following steps:

(a) the weaving operations are done in the conventional looms, three separate beams are required for this product, one is for tight warp thread, the other is for slack warp threads and the third is for loop warp thread, as usual all the tight warp threads, slack warp threads and loop warp threads are drawn through the respective mail eyes of the heald and then through the reed spaces, these threads are tied on the cloth roller, three threads pass through one dent of the reed, the healds are connected to the corresponding treadle according to the tie up and treadling plan, the treadles operate according to the treadling plan, (b)the base weave of this product being regular boucle weave, 2Nm 3 Ply wool yam forms the loops, this wool loop passes in between two slack warp threads and one tight warp thread, the wool loop yarn passes in between two adjacent slack jute warp mreads and outer sides of tight warp, thread, (c) two to three boucle ribs are formed, and the loop formation starts, all the slack and loop ends are rifled, the loop end being slightly lifted above than the slack end, then the weft being inserted just above the tight chain and also the loop rod is inserted just above the formation of slack rib and below the top most loop wool end. 11

(d) all the slack and the loop ends are pulled down, then a weft being inserted just below the tight chain and beats the sley, again the slack chain alone pulled up and inserts the weft and then the slack chains pulled down and beats the sley, thus a boucle rib is formed, the loop and slack chains are pulled up and insert the weft just above the tight chain, as the loop chain ends are naturally pulled little more up than the slack, the loop rod being passed just above the slack, slack chain and loop are pulled down which follows the sley beats, the weft is passed just below the tight chain, this operation repeats and forms the carpet.
