PIECE D'HORLOGERIE MECANIQUE A TOURBILLON
La présente invention se rapporte au domaine de l'horlogerie. Elle concerne, plus particulièrement, une pièce d'horlogerie mécanique dont le mouvement est doté d'un mécanisme connu sous le nom de tourbillon.
Le tourbillon est un système réglant bien connu de l'homme du métier. On sait que, lorsque l'échappement d'une montre mécanique se trouve en position verticale, les déséquilibres inévitables du balancier et du spiral engendrés par la gravitation terrestre entraînent des écarts de marche. Le but du tourbillon est de compenser ces variations en faisant prendre au balancier-spiral, dans le cas d'un tourbillon à un seul axe, toutes les positions verticales.
On retiendra, en résumé, qu'un tourbillon est généralement composé d'un assortiment habituel d'échappement et d'un balancier. Ces éléments sont montés dans une cage tournante suspendue entre deux points de pivotement, qui peuvent être situés sur la platine et le pont de barrette ou sur le pont de cage et le pont de barrette. La cage fonctionne comme le mobile de seconde. Elle est solidaire du pignon de seconde et est entraînée par la roue moyenne. A l'intérieur de la cage, le rôle de l'échappement est conventionnel. La force est transmise à partir du pignon d'échappement qui engrène, à la manière d'un satellite, avec la roue de seconde fixe, solidaire de la platine. L'axe du balancier doit être parfaitement coaxial avec celui de la cage.
Il est connu de réaliser des tourbillons comportant deux ou trois axes de rotation perpendiculaires, afin de faire prendre au balancier-spiral une multitude de positions. Les périodes de rotation autour de ces trois axes sont différentes: elles sont, généralement, dans les rapports traditionnels d'un rouage de finissage mais ne correspondent pas aux unités de temps usuelles.
Le brevet CH 693 833 propose un tourbillon comportant deux axes parallèles. Un premier axe est celui autour duquel pivote la cage portant l'assortiment. Un second axe est situé au centre du mouvement et permet de faire pivoter le cadran et, avec lui, l'ensemble de la cage. La cage effectue donc à la fois une
rotation sur son premier axe et une révolution autour du centre du mouvement, selon le deuxième axe. Cette réalisation permet à la fois d'obtenir une isochronie élevée et un aspect visuel attractif.
Cependant, le mouvement de révolution du satellite ne permet, au mieux, d'afficher que deux informations horaires et il rend difficile l'adaptation d'autres fonctions à un tel mouvement, puisqu'il faut prévoir des moyens pour la mise en rotation des modules autour du centre du mouvement, en s'assurant que ce mouvement ne perturbe pas leur fonctionnement.
La présente invention propose une disposition nouvelle d'un système tourbillon, permettant de l'utiliser pour afficher des informations sur le temps courant et procurant une pièce d'horlogerie particulièrement originale et à l'esthétique agréable. De plus, il est possible d'adapter d'autres fonctions au mouvement.
De façon plus précise, l'invention concerne une pièce d'horlogerie mécanique comportant un mouvement monté sur une platine et régulé par un tourbillon. Ce dernier comprend une première cage, mobile en rotation autour d'un premier axe, portant un assortiment d'échappement et un balancier. Cette cage accomplit une révolution en une première période.
Dans une première variante de l'invention, la pièce d'horlogerie comprend, en outre, une deuxième cage mobile en rotation autour d'un axe parallèle au premier axe et reliée cinématiquement à la première cage, et une troisième cage, mobile en rotation autour d'un troisième axe parallèle au premier axe et situé au centre du mouvement. Cette troisième cage porte les première et deuxième cages et les entraîne cinématiquement.
Dans une deuxième variante de l'invention, la première cage est portée par une deuxième cage mobile en rotation autour du premier axe et accomplit une révolution en une deuxième période.
Avantageusement, la pièce comporte un cadran doté d'une ouverture. Les première et deuxième cages sont visibles à travers cette ouverture et portent
un index permettant de lire, respectivement, la seconde et la minute du temps courant.
D'autres caractéristiques de l'invention apparaîtront plus clairement à la lecture de la description qui suit, faite en regard du dessin annexé dans lequel:
- la figure 1 est une vue de dessus d'une montre selon l'invention, illustrant la disposition du système tourbillon par rapport au mouvement,
- la figure 2 est une vue en coupe selon l'axe AA du mouvement, et
- la figure 3 est une vue agrandie de la partie centrale du mécanisme.
On a représenté sur la figure 1 , une montre selon l'invention, comportant un mouvement monté sur une platine. Elle comprend un cadran 10 doté d'une ouverture 12 décentrée par rapport au centre du cadran 10 et qui laisse voir une partie du mouvement et, plus particulièrement, un système réglant dit "tourbillon" 14, coaxial à l'ouverture.
La particularité du mouvement selon l'invention est décrite ci-après, en référence aux figures 2 et 3, sur laquelle, dans un souci de clarté, la platine, les ponts et les éléments du mouvement non essentiels à l'invention n'ont pas été représentés.
Une roue 16, appelée roue des heures car elle équivaut à la roue des heures dans un calibre normal, est montée sur un pont, au centre du mouvement, sur un axe BB, et est entraînée par le pignon de minuterie du finissage, à raison d'un tour en douze heures. Un planétaire 18 est chassé coaxialement sur la roue 16 et effectue donc, également, un tour en douze heures. Le cadran 10 est monté pivotant sous le rehaut du cadran de la montre et est rendu solidaire du planétaire 18 par un tigeron 20. Le cadran 10 accomplit donc une révolution en douze heures. L'ensemble constitué du cadran 10, du tigeron 20 et du planétaire 18 forme une cage 21 , dite cage des heures.
Pour réduire les frottements que son mouvement engendre, le planétaire 18 et la roue 16 sont avantageusement montés sur un roulement à billes 22 logé en leur centre.
Le planétaire 18 porte, sur sa planche, un satellite 24 qui coopère avec la denture intérieure d'un anneau fixe des heures 26, solidaire de la platine, sensiblement de même diamètre extérieur que le cadran 10. Un arbre 28 est monté libre en rotation sur le planétaire 18. Il est entouré d'un manchon 30 monté fol et denté de manière à engrener avec le satellite 24. L'arbre 28 pivote autour d'un axe CC, sur deux pierres 32 chassées dans un canon 34 intercalé entre l'arbre 28 et le manchon 30. Ce canon appartient à une roue fixe des minutes 36, qui sera décrite en détail ci-après.
Une cage des minutes 38 est ajustée sur le manchon 30. Elle est donc libre par rapport à l'arbre 28. Le manchon 30 est chassé dans un roulement à billes 40 positionné dans un logement 42 ménagé sur le planétaire 18. La partie supérieure 38a de la cage 38 prend place dans l'ouverture 12, au niveau du cadran 10. Avantageusement, la cage 38 est une demi-cage, c'est-à-dire que sa partie supérieure 38a ne comporte qu'un bras 44, visible sur la figure 1 , formant un index pour lire les minutes du temps courant.
Ainsi, lorsque la roue 16 est entraînée par la minuterie, elle fait pivoter le planétaire 18 autour de BB. Par ailleurs, le pivotement du planétaire 18 anime le satellite 24 d'un mouvement de révolution autour de BB. Ce dernier coopère avec l'anneau 26 et fait tourner le manchon 30 et donc la cage des minutes 38 sur l'arbre 28. Le rapport des différentes dentures est tel que la cage 38 effectue une révolution en une heure.
La roue fixe des minutes 36, mentionnée précédemment, prend place dans la cage 38. Elle est montée sur l'arbre 28 et est chassée par son canon 34 dans le planétaire 18.
La roue 36 engrène avec un pignon 46 d'une première roue intermédiaire 48. Cette dernière entraîne un pignon 50 d'une deuxième roue intermédiaire 52 disposée de manière à revenir en prise avec une partie dentée de l'arbre 28.
Le pignon 46, la roue 48, le pignon 50 et la roue 52 prennent place dans la cage 38, entre la partie inférieure 38b de celle-ci et un pont 53.
La roue 36 et les éléments 46, 48, 50 et 52 forment un train de transmission. C'est la rotation de la cage 38 qui fait tourner le pignon 46 sur la roue 36. Le rapport d'engrenage du train de transmission est défini avantageusement de manière à faire pivoter l'arbre 28 à raison d'un tour par minute, dans le même sens que la cage 38.
Une cage des secondes 54 est montée solidaire sur l'extrémité supérieure de l'arbre 28 et comporte, dans sa partie centrale, un logement 56 dont l'utilité apparaîtra plus loin. La cage 54 pivote donc à raison d'un tour par minute. Des ponts d'ancre inférieur 58 et supérieur 60 sont fixés à la cage 54, par exemple par vissage.
Un deuxième arbre 62 est disposé entre les deux ponts d'ancre 58 et 60. Cet arbre 62 porte une roue d'échappement 64 et un pignon d'échappement 66 en prise avec un anneau fixe des secondes 68. Ce dernier est maintenu rigidement dans la cage 38 par un bras de fixation 70 et est concentrique à la cage 54.
Le dessin montre encore d'autres éléments de l'assortiment de l'échappement, notamment une ancre 71 , un plateau 72, un balancier 74 et un spiral 76. Ces éléments sont disposés classiquement, comme sait le faire l'homme du métier pour un tourbillon. L'axe portant le balancier-spiral et le plateau est disposé entre deux antichocs 78, un premier prenant place dans le logement 56 et un second dans la partie supérieure 38a de la cage des minutes.
Ainsi, lorsque l'arbre 28 pivote, mû par la roue 52 du train de transmission, il entraîne la cage 54 et, avec elle, l'ensemble de l'échappement. Le deuxième arbre 62 est animé d'un mouvement de révolution autour de l'axe CC. La coopération du pignon 66 avec l'anneau fixe 68 fait tourner la roue d'échappement 64. Le rapport d'engrenage de ces dentures est calculé de
manière à ce que la roue 64 tourne à la vitesse nécessaire à la fréquence du balancier, typiquement 3, 4 ou 5 Hz.
Au final, dans le mouvement selon l'invention, les rotations suivantes sont réalisées:
- celles du planétaire et du cadran supérieur autour de l'axe BB, à raison d'un tour en douze heures,
- celle de la cage des minutes 38 autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par heure, et
- celle de la cage des secondes 54 autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par minute.
A l'instar du bras 44 de la cage 38 qui permet de lire les minutes, l'homme du métier peut faire figurer un index sur la cage des secondes 54, capable d'afficher les secondes du temps courant.
Le dispositif qui vient d'être décrit pourra être facilement adapté dans une montre comportant un cadran fixe. Dans ce cas, le mouvement ne présentera que les rotations de la cage des minutes 38 autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par heure, et de la cage des secondes 54, aussi autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par minute. Dans cette variante, il est relativement aisé d'adapter divers modules au mouvement, afin d'obtenir d'autres fonctions. En effet, il n'est nul besoin de prévoir leur révolution autour du centre du mouvement.
De même, l'une des cages des minutes 38 ou des secondes 54 peut être supprimée, le mouvement ne présentant alors que la rotation de la cage des heures autour de l'axe BB, à raison d'un tour en douze heures et, soit la rotation de la cage des minutes 38 autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par heure, soit celle de la cage des secondes 54, aussi autour de l'axe CC, à raison d'un tour par minute.
Enfin, dans une dernière variante s'inspirant des systèmes connus de l'homme du métier sous le nom de carrousel, les cages des minutes 38 et des
secondes 54 ne sont pas coaxiales. L'axe du balancier n'est donc plus aligné avec l'axe de rotation de la cage portant l'assortiment.
