[0001] 本発明は、ナノ物質の操作方法およびその利用に関するものであり、特に、量子ド ット対の製造 (作製)や操作等に好適に用いることができる操作方法とその利用とに 関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] 光を物質に照射したときにその物質に印加される力は輻射力と呼ばれる。この力は 、微小物体の空間的位置や力学的運動を制御する光操作に利用されている。具体 的には、流動性媒質中に浮遊する、マイクロメーター領域のサイズを有する微小物体 の光操作に利用されているだけでなぐナノテクノロジーへの応用も期待されている。
[0003] し力しながら、従来では、上記輻射力による光操作をナノテクノロジーに応用するこ とは困難であった。具体的には、ナノテクノロジーにおいては、そのサイズが数百ナノ メートル以下の物質 (物体、粒子、あるいは構造体)であるナノ物質を操作対象とする ことになるが、このナノ物質のうち非金属のものは、通常の条件下では誘起分極が小 さぐ光力 受ける輻射力もナノ物質の運動を制御できる程度に大きくならない。これ 力 ナノ物質の光操作を困難とする原因の一つであった。
[0004] 他方、対象物質の電子的励起準位に共鳴するような周波数を有するレーザー光( 共鳴光)を照射すれば、誘起分極を増強して強い輻射力を得ることができることが知 られて 、る。この原理は原子のレーザー冷却や捕捉に用いられて 、る。
[0005] さらに、ナノ物質は、マイクロメーター領域のサイズを有する物質や原子とは異なり、 サイズ (大きさ)、形状、内部構造、品質等が異なると、その量子力学的性質が変化 することに由来した個性を持つことが知られて 、る。
[0006] 本発明者らは、上述した知見に着目し、共鳴光をナノ物質に照射した場合に生じる 輻射力について、量子力学的な効果も含めた理論研究を行ってきた。その結果、以 下の知見が明らかになった。
[0007] (1)サイズの減少に伴い、電子的共鳴効果を用いることのメリットが著しく増大する。 例えば、 lOnm前後のサイズ領域では、条件によっては共鳴効果を考えない場合の 4桁以上力が増強され、線形応答しか起こらないような弱い強度の入射光であっても 重力を数桁上回る力が生じる。
[0008] (2)数十 nm程度の大きさのナノ物質にぉ 、ては、励起エネルギーが熱的吸収過 程より速やかに輻射的に散逸するコヒーレントな散乱過程が存在する。このプロセス を利用すれば発熱のほとんど無いマ-ュピレーシヨンができる可能性がある。

[0011] 一方、光操作の対象となるナノ物質の一例として、量子ドットと呼ばれるものが存在 する。量子ドットは、その電子的励起準位が原子のように離散的であることから、『人 ェ原子』としばしば呼ばれて 、る。
[0012] 量子ドットに関する研究はまだ基礎段階であるが、高い量子効率を有することや、 半導体等の固有材料で作製可能であるためデバイスとして利用しやすいこと等が知 られている。そのため、量子ドットは、高効率発光素子、高速光通信、量子情報通信 やバイオテクノロジー等様々な分野での応用が期待されている。特に最近では、電 子系を閉じ込めた半導体量子ドットの電気的 ·光学的性質につ!、ての研究が盛んで あり、単一の量子ドットを対象とするだけでなぐ複数の量子ドット間の量子力学的結 合に着目した研究も盛んに行われて 、る。
[0013] 例えば、 2つの量子ドットからなる量子ドット対において、電子励起状態のコヒーレン トな結合状態または反結合状態が観測され、このような量子ドット対は『人工分子』ま たは『量子ドット分子』等と呼ばれている(非特許文献 2· 3参照)。この人工分子は、そ れぞれの量子ドットに閉じ込められた電子が量子力学的にもつれあった状態を有す る。そのため、これら人工分子を多数配列させたデバイスを製造できれば、量子計算 機等への応用が期待される。 [0014] また、複数の量子ドット間において、エネルギー移動を制御しょうとする試みもある( 非特許文献 4参照)。このようなエネルギー移動の制御は、エネルギー移動の効率を 高めることが可能となるため、エネルギー問題の解決に寄与する可能性もある。

[0018] また、非特許文献 3に開示されている技術では、ガリウム砒素(GaAs)とアルミ-ゥ ムガリウム砒素 (AlGaAs)の積層構造に、収束イオンビーム注入による絶縁ィ匕プロセ スを施し、さらに、ショットキーゲートによる電圧印加によって lOOnm程度の量子ドット を作製している。この技術では、さらに微小な量子ドットを作製したり、それらを大量 生成したりすることは困難であると考えられる。

[0022] 本発明は、上記課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、量子ドットや量子ド ット対等のナノ物質が複数存在している状態において、ナノ物質を集団的に操作す ることができる技術を提供することにある。
発明の開示
[0023] 本発明者らは、上記課題に鑑み鋭意検討した結果、自由に浮遊して 、る複数のナ ノ物質が近接してナノ物質集団を形成している場合で、かつ、近接する 2つのナノ物 質間に共鳴光を照射する場合に、共鳴光の偏光の切換えにより輻射力を制御するこ とが可能であり、これにより、ナノ物質の空間的配置や運動を良好に制御することが できることを見出し、本発明を完成させるに至った。
[0024] すなわち、本発明にかかるナノ物質の操作方法は、上記の課題を解決するために 、ナノ物質に対して、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位に共鳴する共鳴光を照射する ことにより、共鳴光力 ナノ物質に力を及ぼして当該ナノ物質を操作するナノ物質の 操作方法において、共鳴光の照射対象が、複数個のナノ物質力もなるナノ物質集団 であるとともに、ナノ物質間に生じる力学的相互作用を制御するために、照射する上 記共鳴光の偏光を変化させることを特徴として 、る。

本発明にかかるナノ物質の操作方法は、自由に移動可能な環境下に存在する複 数のナノ物質力もなるナノ物質集団に対して、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位に共 鳴する光 (共鳴光)を照射し、ナノ物質間に力を生じせしめてそれらの空間的配置や 運動状態を制御するものである。
[0043] <ナノ物質 ·ナノ物質集団 >
本発明におけるナノ物質は、そのサイズが数百ナノメートル以下の物質であれば特 に限定されるものではなぐどのような形状の物体であってもよい。このナノ物質は、 ナノオーダーサイズの微小物体と 、うことができるので、ナノ粒子と呼称してもよ 、し、 その構造に特徴がある場合にはナノ構造体と呼称しても良い。ナノ物質の大きさはナ ノオーダーであればよいが、半径が lOOnm以下であることがより好ましい。半径が 10 Onm以下のナノ物質では、光の共鳴現象がある場合に作用する力の大きさを、光の 共鳴現象がない場合に作用する力の 102— 105程度にまで増強することができる。

[0045] 本発明で特に好ましいナノ物質としては、例えば、量子ドットおよび量子ドット対を 挙げることができる。量子ドットとは、典型的には数ナノメートル力も数百ナノメートル のサイズで、材質としては、半導体、金属、有機化合物等からなる構造体で、量子力 学的な効果が発現する系であれば特に限定するものではない。後述する実施例で は、半導体を用いている。半導体が好適である理由としては、例えば、その内部に励 起子等の共鳴構造の鋭い電子状態が存在し、それらに対応する周波数のレーザー 光を操作することで、大きな輻射力が得られると考えられるためである。
[0046] 量子ドット対とは、 2個の量子ドットにより対を形成してなるものであり、量子ドット間 の距離が数ナノメートル力 数十ナノメートルとなっている。量子ドット対は、このような 量子ドット同士の対構造を有しているものであれば、具体的に限定されるものではな ぐ人工分子、量子ドット分子、ポラリトニック分子等も量子ドット対に含まれ、量子ドッ ト対の 1種である。本発明によれば、上記量子ドットから量子ドット対を作製することも できる。
[0047] 上記半導体としては、例えば、 I-VII族化合物の半導体; II-VI族化合物の半導体; III-V族化合物の半導体;ケィ素(Si)等が挙げられるが特に限定されるものではない 。具体的には、ト VII族の半導体としては、例えば、銅化合物が挙げられ、より具体的 には、 CuCl、 CuBr、 Cul等のハロゲン化銅を挙げることができる。後述する実施例 では、 CuClを用いている。 II-VI族化合物の半導体としては、例えば、 CdS、 CdSe等 のカドミウム化合物、 ZnO等の亜鉛ィ匕合物が挙げられる。 III-V族化合物の半導体と しては、 GaAs等のガリウム化合物が挙げられる。
[0048] これら化合物の中でも、 I-VII族化合物および II-VI族化合物が好ましく用いられ、 卜 VII族化合物がより好ましい。一般に、半導体は、電子 ·正孔が結合して共鳴準位の 一例である励起子を構成する力 この励起子の固有エネルギーは量子ドットのサイズ に依存する。この効果を利用して、あるサイズの量子ドットに共鳴する共鳴光を選択 すれば、当該サイズの量子ドットのみを選択することができる。

本発明において、ナノ物質集団に照射する光は、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位 に共鳴する光すなわち共鳴光である。
[0052] 電子的励起準位とは、ナノ物質が有する電子系の量子力学的に取り得るエネルギ 一を指し、ナノ物質では、この励起準位が離散化されている。その固有エネルギーは 、物質のサイズ、形状、内部構造により異なる。ここで、光を物質に照射した場合、輻 射力が生じるが、この輻射力における周波数軸上のピークの大きさや位置は、物質 のサイズ、形状、内部構造によって異なる。上記共鳴光は、電子的励起準位に共鳴 する光であり、輻射力のピーク位置における周波数を中心とし、そのピークの半値半 幅の 2倍に力かる周波数幅の範囲に入る周波数を有する光である。
[0053] このような光 (共鳴光)をナノ物質に照射すると、この光は電子的励起準位に共鳴す る。つまり、共鳴光がナノ物質に入射すると、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位と基底 準位との間、あるいは電子的励起準位間のエネルギー差、すなわち遷移エネルギー に共鳴して誘起分極が増大する。一般に、光とナノ物質との相互作用は、当該ナノ 物質の誘起分極が大きくなるほど強くなるため、共鳴光の入射によってナノ物質の誘 起分極が増大することにより、光とナノ物質との力学的な相互作用が大きくなる。した がって、ナノ物質での強い光散乱および強い光吸収が起こることにより、共鳴光から ナノ物質に効率よく力が与えられる。
[0054] これにより、光との力学的相互作用が弱いナノ物質であっても、当該光とナノ物質 の電子的励起準位との共鳴により、力学的相互作用を高めることができる。つまり、 共鳴光を用いれば、ナノ物質と光との間において相互作用を強くすることになり、照 射した光がナノ物質に働く力を増大させることができる。その結果、光からナノ物質に 及ぼされる力が増強され、光照射によってナノ物質を容易に操作することが可能にな る。し力も、本発明では、後述するように、共鳴光の偏光を変化させることで、ナノ物 質間に生じる力学的相互作用を制御することができる。この点については後述する。
[0055] なお、照射する共鳴光の波長は、ナノ物質の材質が既知である場合には、文献 (例 ば、 H.Ajiki and K . [0056] さらに、照射する共鳴光は、波長サイズ程度に絞り込んで力 ナノ物質に導入し、 当該共鳴光のスペクトル線の線幅は、操作対象となるナノ物質の電子的励起準位に 共鳴するように設定すればよい。なお、上記ナノ物質に照射する共鳴光の強度は、 光照射により微小物体の破壊を引き起こさない大きさとすればよい。
[0057] 共鳴光の具体的な種類は特に限定されるものではないが、レーザー光を好適に用 いることができる。具体的には、光マニピュレーションにて一般的に用いられている約 300nm— 1200nm程度のレーザー波長のレーザー光であれば、どのようなものでも よい。

上記共鳴光は、電子的励起準位に共鳴する光であり、光マニピュレーションにおけ る作用 ·効果は、前記特許文献 1に開示されている。本発明者らは、この特許文献 1 の技術についてさらに鋭意検討した結果、共鳴光の偏光を変化させることにより複数 のナノ物質間に働く輻射力の大きさや符号を変化することができることを独自に見出 した。すなわち、本発明にかかるナノ物質の操作方法は、特に、共鳴光の照射対象 をナノ物質集団として、ナノ物質間に生じる力学的相互作用を制御するために、照射 する上記共鳴光の偏光を変化させるものである。
[0059] 後述する実施例および図 1 (a) ·図 1 (b)に示すように、 2個のナノ物質 11a ' l ibが 近 ヽ領域に存在する場合 (ナノ物質集団 12を形成して ヽる場合)、それらの内部に 誘起される分極が電磁場を介して相互作用する。その結果、これらナノ物質の間で は、単一のナノ物質の電子的励起準位とは異なる固有エネルギーに基づく結合状態 と反結合状態とが生じることになる。
[0060] 結合状態では、単一のナノ物質の共鳴エネルギーよりも低エネルギー側に共鳴ェ ネルギーを有し、反結合状態では単一のナノ物質の共鳴エネルギーよりも高工ネル ギー側に共鳴エネルギーを有する。これら各状態は、異なる偏光を有する入射光に より選択的に生じさせることができる。図 1 (a) ·図 1 (b)に示すような 2粒子系において 共鳴光を照射した場合、共鳴光により生じる輻射力は、各ナノ物質 l la ' l ibの重心 を結んだ直線 (便宜上、重心線と称する)を基準として、この重心線に対しての偏光 の向きに依存する。具体的には、偏光の平行成分が多いか垂直成分が多いかで、 生じる輻射力の性質が変わることになる。例えば、重心線に対し、平行成分は引力を 生じさせ、垂直成分は斥力を生じさせる。ただし、重心線に平行な方向から入射する 共鳴光にっ ヽては、どのように偏光を変化させても垂直成分しか存在し得な 、ため、 輻射力は偏光の向きには依存しない。
[0061] それゆえ、本発明では、照射する上記共鳴光の偏光を変化させるときに、近接する ナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギーを、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギーより も低エネルギー側に励起するように変化させると、ナノ物質間に結合状態を生じさせ るようにエネルギーが励起される。その結果、図 1 (a)に示すように、 2個のナノ物質 1 la ' l ibの間には、図中一点鎖線の矢印で示す引力を生じさせることができる。
[0062] また、近接するナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギーを、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴 エネルギーよりも高工ネルギー側に励起するように変化させると、ナノ物質間に反結 合状態を生じさせるようにエネルギーが励起される。その結果、図 1 (b)に示すように 、 2個のナノ物質 l la' l ibの間には、図中二点鎖の矢印で示す斥力を生じさせるこ とがでさる。
[0063] 本発明では、このようにして、ナノ物質間において自由に引力または斥力を生じさ せることができる。特許文献 1に開示している技術では、共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質 を操作可能としたが、ナノ物質集団における効率的な操作までは至らな力 た。これ に対して、本発明では、偏光の制御により、ナノ物質間の距離を接近または凝集させ たり、距離の拡大または凝集させないようにしたりすることができる。その結果、ナノ物 質集団においてナノ物質の空間的配置や運動状態を制御することが可能になり、ナ ノ物質を高い自由度で効率的に操作することができる。
[0064] ここで、ナノ物質の間に作用する力(引力または斥力)の大きさは、ナノ物質間の距 離によって変化し、照射する共鳴光の強度に比例して増大する。例えば、ナノ物質 間の距離が数ナノ一" h数ナノメートル程度の場合に、 50 μ W/IOO μ m2 ( = 50w/ cm2)の強度のレーザーを照射した場合には、ナノ物質間に作用する力は、重力の 数十倍程度となる。そこで、ナノ物質集団に共鳴光を照射する場合、ナノ物質間の距 離を適切な範囲内とするようにナノ物質集団を形成してもよいし、照射する共鳴光の 強度を変化させてもよい。
[0065] また、共鳴光を照射した場合、図 1 (a) ·図 1 (b)に示すように、ナノ物質 11a ' l ibの 間だけでなぐ共鳴光の進行方向(図中二重線の矢印)にも力が生じる。そこで、偏 光 (振動面)を切り換えることで引力や斥力を生じさせ、例えば、ナノ物質 11aおよび l ibけノ物質集団 12)の位置や運動を制御した後、共鳴光の照射により、ナノ物質 11aまたは l ibの重心の位置や運動を制御することも可能となる。なお、「ナノ物質 1 laおよび l ibの位置や運動を制御すること」と、「共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質 11aま たは l ibの重心の位置や運動を制御すること」とについては、前者を先に行って後者 を後に行うこと、後者を先に行って前者を後に行うこと、前者と後者とを同時に行うこと 、前者と後者とを交互に行うこと、のいずれもが可能である。
[0066] さらに、本発明では、ナノ物質集団に照射する共鳴光として、照射条件の異なる共 鳴光を複数種類併用してもよい。複数種類の共鳴光を併用することで、より多彩で複 雑なナノ物質の操作が可能となる。照射条件としては、上述した偏光 (振動面)、光の 強度、周波数等を挙げることができ、目的に応じて上記照射条件を変更させた共鳴 光を複数準備すればよい。また、複数の共鳴光を照射するタイミングも特に限定され るものではなぐ同時であってもよいし、照射時間をずらせて交互に照射してもよい。
[0067] このように、本発明では、偏光により引力や斥力の所望の力をナノ物質に働力せる 力 これについて、より詳しく述べる。
[0068] 力を光エネルギーの関数としてみると、引力が働く力のエネルギー軸上のピーク位 置と、斥力が働く力のエネルギー軸上のピーク位置とは、互いに少しずれている。す なわち、元々の励起子の共鳴準位、すなわち単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギ 一(輻射力のピーク)力も一方は高エネルギーシフトし、他方は低エネルギーシフトし て 、る。どれくら 、ずれて 、るかは物質パラメーターによって様々である。
[0069] 例として、垂直 (上下)方向に振動する偏光をナノ物質に照射する場合を考える。両 方のピークをカバーするような線幅の太 、レーザービームを入射した場合は、水平( 左右)方向にあるナノ物質同士には斥力が働き、一方、垂直方向にあるナノ物質同 士には引力が働く。一方、どちらかのピークしかカバーしないような線幅の細いレー ザ一ビームを当てると、力は、カバーしている側にのみ働く。

本発明にかかるナノ物質の操作方法は、上記のように、照射する共鳴光の偏光を 変化させるものであるが、この基本原理を用いた具体的な操作方法について説明す る。本発明にかかる操作方法は、ナノ物質を操作するための包括的な方法であって 、複数の工程を含む方法である。具体的な工程としては、ナノ物質操作工程、特定 ナノ物質選択工程、集団形成工程等を挙げることができる。

3 等の非線形光学結晶を用いた場合、第 2高調波:波長 360— 450nm)を用いること ができる。また、偏光の変化等、照射条件の制御手法についても特に限定されるもの ではなぐ公知のレーザー用光学系、例えば、偏光の変化の場合、波長板を用いれ ばよい。波長板として、例えば、 λ Ζ2波長板を用いれば、レーザー光の偏光を 90° 回転させることができる。

本発明の利用分野は、ナノテクノロジー全般であって、どのような種類のナノ物質の 操作であっても利用できることは言うまでも無いが、具体的な一例としては、量子ドット 対の製造 (作製)方法への利用が挙げられる。すなわち、本発明には、上述したナノ 物質の操作方法を用いた量子ドット対の製造方法も含まれる。
[0100] 上記量子ドット対の製造方法について具体的な一例を挙げて説明する。まず、例え ば、集団形成工程において、例えば集光ビームにより、特定の属性を有する量子ドッ トが複数近接した量子ドット集団を形成する。この量子ドット集団は、サイズ、形状、共 鳴エネルギー等において特定の属性を有する多量の量子ドットが近接した集団とな つているとする。そこで、上記第一ナノ物質操作工程により、上記量子ドット集団に含 まれる量子ドット間の距離を制御して量子ドット対を形成する。すなわち、前述したよう に、共鳴光の偏光を変化させることで、量子ドット間に引力または斥力を生じさせて 量子ドット集団の集合態様を制御する。これにより、量子ドット間の距離を変化させ、 量子ドット対を形成する。その後、特定ナノ物質選択工程により、特定の量子ドット対 を選択してもよいし、選択した量子ドット対を第二ナノ物質操作工程により基板等に 固定ィ匕してもよい。なお、第一ナノ物質操作工程、第二ナノ物質操作工程、特定ナノ 物質選択工程、集団形成工程以外の工程が含まれていてもよいし、それぞれの工程 の順序は任意に変更してもよ 、。
[0101] このとき、前述したように、照射条件の異なる共鳴光を複数種類併用してもよい。例 えば、特定サイズの量子ドットのみが一方向に運動する条件下で、同時に特定の距 離以下の間隔で存在する量子ドット対の距離を制御するように、複数種類の共鳴光 を照射する。これによつて、任意の量子ドット対力もなる新規な構造体を自由空間に 作成したり、その構造体を基板に固定したりすることも可能となる。

[0104] ナノ物質としては、 1辺 20nmの立方体で材質が CuClの半導体量子ドットを選択し た。半導体量子ドットの電子的励起状態は Lorentz振動子モデルで近似し、離散化 積分方程式により応答場を計算し、それを Maxwellの応力テンソルに代入して量子ド ットに及ぼされる力を評価した。具体的な条件は、図 3 (a)に示すように、 2つの立方 体量子ドットが 8nm間隔という近い領域に存在するとして、その重心を X— y平面上に 設定し、 z方向においては、 CuClの Z励起子のパラメーターを使用した (共鳴ェネル

ギー: 3.2022[eV])。照射する共鳴光(レーザー光)の強度は 50 μ W/100 μ ηι ( = 50WZcm2)とした。この条件で、偏光の異なる共鳴光を照射した場合、個々の量子 ドットが受ける加速度 (力 Z質量)の X, y成分の周波数依存性を、図 3 (b) '図 3 (c)に 示す。 [0105] 図 3 (b) ·図 3 (c)では、単一の量子ドットの電子的励起準位は縦線で示される。立 方体形状の半導体量子ドットが近い領域に存在する場合、それらの内部に誘起され る分極が電磁場を介して相互作用し、単一の量子ドットの電子的励起準位とは異な る固有エネルギーの結合状態 (BS)または反結合状態 (AS)を有する量子ドット対の 1種である『ボラリトニック分子』が形成されることが分かる。
[0106] また、 2個の立方体量子ドットが接近すると、各量子ドット間の重心を結ぶ直線 (重 心線)に垂直な偏光の共鳴光を照射すれば、量子ドット間に反発力(斥力)が生じ、 重心線に平行な偏光の共鳴光を照射すれば引力が生じ、距離の減少とともにその大 きさが増大した。さらにナノメートル程度の距離まで接近すると、線形応答の範囲のレ 一ザ一強度でも、生じる加速度は重力加速度の数十倍となった。また、量子ドットの 大きさ力 例えば 60nm程度に大きくなると、本来、斥力が生じる垂直な偏光の場合 でも、条件によって力の成分が負となり、引力が生じる領域が現れた。なお、直方体 状の微粒子の場合、長軸と並行な偏光の入射光の方が、そのピーク値が大きぐピ ーク周波数の位置は形状'偏光により変わることがわ力つた。
[0107] さらに、ナノ物質として、直径 40nmの球で材質が CuClの半導体量子ドットを選択 した場合でも、図 4 (b) ·図 4 (c)に示すように結合状態 (BS)または反結合状態 (AS) を有する『ボラリトニック分子』が形成されることが分かる。単一の立方体に、共鳴光を 照射したときの力のピーク値は、同体積の球と同程度となった。

以上のように、本発明では、共鳴光によってナノ物質集団を操作する場合に、従来 よりも一層多彩で複雑な操作を可能とする。それゆえ、本発明では、ナノ物質の操作 によって新規な性質を有する構造体を製造したり、生体分子の操作や細胞'細胞内 小器官の操作に応用したりすることが可能となり、ナノテクノロジーに関わる分野に広 く利用することができる。

請求の範囲
[1] ナノ物質に対して、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位に共鳴する共鳴光を照射する ことにより、共鳴光力 ナノ物質に力を及ぼして当該ナノ物質を操作するナノ物質の 操作方法において、
共鳴光の照射対象が、複数個のナノ物質力もなるナノ物質集団であるとともに、 ナノ物質間に生じる力学的相互作用を制御するために、照射する上記共鳴光の偏 光を変化させることを特徴とするナノ物質の操作方法。
[2] 上記ナノ物質集団は、自由空間中または流動性媒質中に存在することを特徴とす る請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[3] さらに、照射する上記共鳴光の強度を変化させることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に 記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[4] 近接するナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギーを、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴エネ ルギ一よりも低エネルギー側に励起するように、照射する上記共鳴光の偏光を変化さ せることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[5] 近接するナノ物質が有する共鳴エネルギーを、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴エネ ルギ一よりも高エネルギー側に励起するように、照射する上記共鳴光の偏光を変化さ せることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[6] 共鳴光として、照射条件の異なる共鳴光を複数種類併用することを特徴とする請求 の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[7] 互いに直交する方向を D1および D2とするとき、
共鳴光として、 D1方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴ェ ネルギ一よりも低エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Aを照射し 、それにより、 D1方向にあるナノ物質同士に引力を働力せ、 D2方向にあるナノ物質 同士には何の力も働力せないことを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操 作方法。
[8] 互いに直交する方向を D1および D2とするとき、
共鳴光として、 D1方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する共鳴ェ ネルギ一よりも高エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Aを照射し 、それにより、 D2方向にあるナノ物質同士に斥力を働力せ、 D1方向にあるナノ物質 同士には何の力も働力せないことを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操 作方法。
[9] 互いに直交する方向を D1および D2とするとき、
一方の共鳴光として、 D1方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する 共鳴エネルギーよりも低エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Aを 照射し、それにより、 D1方向にあるナノ物質同士に引力を働力せ、 D2方向にあるナ ノ物質同士には何の力も働力せず、
他方の共鳴光として、 D2方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する 共鳴エネルギーよりも低エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Bを 照射し、それにより、 D2方向にあるナノ物質同士に引力を働力せ、 D1方向にあるナ ノ物質同士には何の力も働力せず、
これにより、 D1方向にあるナノ物質同士にも D2方向にあるナノ物質同士にも引力 を働力せることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[10] 互いに直交する方向を D1および D2とするとき、
一方の共鳴光として、 D1方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する 共鳴エネルギーよりも高エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Aを 照射し、それにより、 D2方向にあるナノ物質同士に斥力を働力せ、 D1方向にあるナ ノ物質同士には何の力も働力せず、
他方の共鳴光として、 D2方向に振動する偏光であって、単一のナノ物質が有する 共鳴エネルギーよりも高エネルギー側のピークのみをカバーするレーザービーム Bを 照射し、それにより、 D1方向にあるナノ物質同士に斥力を働力せ、 D2方向にあるナ ノ物質同士には何の力も働力せず、
これにより、 D1方向にあるナノ物質同士にも D2方向にあるナノ物質同士にも斥力 を働力せることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[11] 定在波を発生させて、上記ナノ物質を該定在波上に配列させることを特徴とする請 求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[12] 上記共鳴光とは別の 2つの光にて上記定在波を発生させることを特徴とする請求の 範囲 11に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[13] 上記共鳴光を基板に当て、該共鳴光とその基板力 の反射光にて上記定在波を 発生させることを特徴とする請求の範囲 11に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[14] 上記定在波の発生位置を調整することで、上記ナノ物質を基板上に固着させること を特徴とする請求の範囲 11に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[15] 定在波を発生させることによって、上記ナノ物質に、重力に逆らう輻射力を印加する ことを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[16] 上記定在波の発生位置を調整することで、上記ナノ物質を基板上に固着させること を特徴とする請求の範囲 15に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[17] エバネッセント波を発生させることによって、上記ナノ物質に、重力に逆らう輻射力 を印加することを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[18] 上記エバネッセント波の発生位置を調整することで、上記ナノ物質を基板上に固着 させることを特徴とする請求の範囲 17に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[19] ナノ物質集団を構成するナノ物質の集団的な運動および Zまたはナノ物質の配列 を制御するように、上記共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質を操作する第一ナノ物質操作 工程を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[20] 運動および Zまたは配列が制御されたナノ物質集団において、ナノ物質の重心の 位置および Zまたはナノ物質の運動を制御するように、共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質 を操作する第二ナノ物質操作工程を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲 19に記載の ナノ物質の操作方法。
[21] 上記第一ナノ物質操作工程にてナノ物質集団の運動および Zまたは配列を制御 する前に、ナノ物質の重心の位置および Zまたはナノ物質の運動を制御するように、 共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質を操作する第二ナノ物質操作工程を有することを特徴 とする請求の範囲 19に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[22] 上記第一ナノ物質操作工程にてナノ物質集団の運動および Zまたは配列を制御 するのと同時に、ナノ物質の重心の位置および Zまたはナノ物質の運動を制御する ように、共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質を操作する第二ナノ物質操作工程を有すること を特徴とする請求の範囲 19に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[23] 上記第一ナノ物質操作工程にてナノ物質集団の運動および Zまたは配列を制御 するのと交互に、ナノ物質の重心の位置および Zまたはナノ物質の運動を制御する ように、共鳴光の照射によりナノ物質を操作する第二ナノ物質操作工程を有すること を特徴とする請求の範囲 19に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[24] 上記ナノ物質集団が複数種類のナノ物質を含んでいるとともに、
さらに、上記共鳴光の照射により、上記ナノ物質集団から特定のナノ物質を選択す る特定ナノ物質選択工程を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質 の操作方法。
[25] さらに、上記ナノ物質集団を形成する集団形成工程を有することを特徴とする請求 の範囲 19に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[26] さらに、上記ナノ物質集団を形成する集団形成工程を有することを特徴とする請求 の範囲 24に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[27] 上記集団形成工程では、集光ビームによりナノ物質集団を形成することを特徴とす る請求の範囲 25に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[28] 上記集団形成工程では、集光ビームによりナノ物質集団を形成することを特徴とす る請求の範囲 26に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[29] 上記ナノ物質が量子ドットまたは量子ドット対であることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1 に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[30] 上記ナノ物質集団には、電子的励起準位の異なる複数種類の量子ドット対が含ま れており、
上記特定ナノ物質選択工程では、特定の電子的励起準位を有するナノ物質を選 択することを特徴とする請求の範囲 29に記載のナノ物質の操作方法。
[31] 上記ナノ物質集団には、材質が同一であり、かつ、大きさ、形状、内部構造のうち少 なくとも何れかが異なる複数種類の量子ドット対が複数含まれており、
上記特定ナノ物質選択工程では、大きさ、形状および内部構造が実質的に同一で ある量子ドット対を選択することを特徴とする請求の範囲 29に記載のナノ物質の操作 方法。
[32] 上記集団形成工程において形成されるナノ物質集団が、特定の属性を有する量子 ドットが複数近接した量子ドット集団であることを特徴とする請求の範囲 29に記載の ナノ物質の操作方法。
[33] 上記第一ナノ物質操作工程により、上記量子ドット集団に含まれる量子ドット間の距 離を制御して量子ドット対を形成することを特徴とする請求の範囲 32に記載のナノ物 質の操作方法。
[34] 上記共鳴光としてレーザー光が用いられることを特徴とする請求の範囲 1に記載の ナノ物質の操作方法。
[35] 請求の範囲 1に記載のナノ物質の操作方法を用いた量子ドット対の製造方法。
[36] 共鳴光を照射することによりナノ物質に力を及ぼして当該ナノ物質を操作するナノ 物質の操作装置において、
ナノ物質に対して、当該ナノ物質の電子的励起準位に共鳴する共鳴光を照射する 共鳴光照射手段を備えており、当該共鳴光照射手段は、共鳴光の偏光が変化可能 となって!/ヽることを特徴とするナノ物質操作装置。
[37] 複数個のナノ物質力 なるナノ物質集団を存在させ、かつ、操作可能とする内部空 間を有する筐体を備えていることを特徴とする請求の範囲 36に記載のナノ物質操作 装置。
[38] 上記筐体内は、流動性媒質が充填可能となっていることを特徴とする請求の範囲 3

[39] 上記共鳴光照射手段は、共鳴光の強度が変化可能となって!/、ることを特徴とする 請求の範囲 36に記載のナノ物質操作装置。
[40] 上記共鳴光照射手段は複数設けられており、各共鳴光照射手段から照射される共 鳴光は、照射条件が異なっていることを特徴とする請求の範囲 36に記載のナノ物質 操作装置。
[41] さらに、筐体内に上記ナノ物質集団を形成するナノ物質集団形成手段を備えてい ることを特徴とする請求の範囲 36に記載のナノ物質操作装置。
[42] さらに、上記筐体内には、操作されたナノ物質を固定する基板が設置されているこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲 36に記載のナノ物質操作装置。
