Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'enrobage de particules d'aluminium par une couche de polymère, qui comprend les étapes suivantes : (A) réaliser une dispersion aqueuse de particules d'aluminium métallique à l'aide de tensioactifs, lesdites particules d'aluminium étant mises en contact avec des anions persulfate S2O82- ; puis (B) réaliser une polymérisation de type en émulsion au sein de la dispersion aqueuse ainsi obtenue, en introduisant dans ladite dispersion des monomères dont la polymérisation radicalaire est amorcée par les anions persulfate, ou bien en introduisant dans ladite dispersion des monomères et un amorceur de polymérisation de ces monomères, ce par quoi il se forme une couche polymère à la surface des particules d'aluminium. L'invention concerne également les compositions pigmentaires à base de particules d'aluminium recouvertes par des couches polymères, susceptibles d'être obtenues selon ce procédé, ainsi que l'utilisation de ces compositions pour la formulation de peintures d'aspect métallisé.
