Definitions

  • the present patent application refers to a multiple position exercising chair that can be used to perform the same exercise in two different positions. More precisely, the invention consists in a chair that allows the athlete to assume a prone position, stretching and blocking his/her legs and laying his/her stomach against a rest pad, and projecting his/her torso forward without using any support.
  • the athlete's torso In the initial position assumed for the correct execution of the exercise, the athlete's torso is bent downwards with a basically right inclination angle with respect to the extension line of the legs; once the athlete has assumed this position, he/she lifts his/her torso, with his/her arms folded, until it is aligned with his/her legs and then resumes the initial rest position, repeating the lifting movement for a certain number of times.
  • this exercise is usually performed from two different positions, which involve a different stress of the muscles used to overcome the resistance load.
  • the athlete In the first position, the athlete is in a prone position and folded at right angle, with erect legs slightly inclined forward and in the second case the athlete is in a prone position and folded at right angle, with horizontally extended legs, so that his/her torso hangs towards the ground with perfectly vertical direction.
  • the athlete At the time being, in order to execute these two different variants of the same exercise, the athlete must use two different chairs that share the presence of a stomach rest pad and restraint means for the legs, but have a different geometric configuration that determines the use of the chair in a selective and exclusive manner.
  • the purpose of the present invention is to realise a new model of multiple position chair, provided with easy-to-build articulation means that allow the chair to assume the two different geometric configurations that characterise today two different models of chair.
