Abstract

The present invention provides an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment, which has a mechanical system that allows both riding and bike routines to be performed at the same time without mechanical interferences, nor that the user descent is necessary.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an integrated bike and riding exercise equipment and more particularly it relates to a novel riding and bike exercise equipment in which the movement systems of the simulation riding and bike equipment are integrated into a only interconnected mechanical system, so that both routines can be carried out at the same time without the need for transition work or the disconnection of the systems.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Due to the requirements of modern life, people maintain extensive working hours and do not have time to perform exercise routines outdoors or in gyms, so they become more sedentary, affecting their quality of life. Therefore, in recent years home training equipment has become indispensable in many homes to improve people quality of life. However, because most people live in departments, the unoccupied area for the placement of these equipment is very small and the end user of these equipment must consider the correct selection of the equipment to be purchased. Although not all the muscle groups necessary to maintain a good physical condition can be trained with a single equipment or apparatus, there are two devices that allow most of the muscle groups to be properly trained and which in turn do not require large areas for its placement; these equipment are riding simulation and stationary bikes. As already mentioned, these equipment in most cases are small; However, there are still two separate equipment, so many users must select only one of them. In order to overcome these inconveniences, hybrids of these equipment have been developed in recent years, in which it is traying to integrate both lifting mechanisms for riding routines and stationary bikes. This type of equipment is described, for example, in U.S. Pat. No. 7,393,308 B1, which describes an exercise equipment that combines an abdominal horse with a stationary bike for spinning. Said device has means to quantify the time parameters and routines repetitions performed; however, this equipment cannot be folded on itself. In addition to the above, the footrests used cannot be completely collapsed, since they have a spring system that avoids it, so they interfere with bike routines. In addition, there is no way to practice both movement types at the same time.
  • U.S. Pat. No. 7,422,548 B1, protects an abdominal horse that has a stationary bike mechanism; said equipment has a sliding mechanism controlled by wheels located in its forward support; although riding and bike routines can be carried out on this equipment, its stability is very compromised since there is only one support point. Besides the above, the equipment does not allow its folding.
  • Finally, the Utility Model application MX/u/2016/000137, describes a riding exercise equipment that has a stationary bike located on its front support, which allows both riding and pedaling routines; likewise, said equipment has the option of being folded so that its effective storage area is greatly reduced. However, it is not possible to carry out both exercise routines at the same time, since the bike pedals collide with the foot supports used in the riding routines. Moreover, in case of wanting to use the stationary bike, it is necessary to lock the riding mechanism, since otherwise when raising the seat, the user feet are too far from bike pedals so that it can impulse itself.
  • The aforementioned devices lack of means to coordinate the riding and bike routines at the same time and in most cases they only allow one of the two routines to be carried out since the effort transmission mechanisms interfere with each other, so it is necessary for the user to descend from the equipment to alternate between the mechanisms in order to carry out the routines.
  • In view of the above problems, there is a need to provide a riding exercise equipment combined with a bike in which the mechanical movement transfer systems do not interfere with each other. There is also a need to provide an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment in which it is possible to carry out both routines at the same time and that can be folded for storage.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In order to overcome the disadvantages of the available riding and bike exercise equipment, the present invention aims to provide a new integrated riding and bike exercise equipment in which the riding and bike elements are integrated into a single shared mechanical system.
  • A particular object of the present invention is to provide an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment, which can be folded without interference of the mechanical interconnection system.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment, which has better stability and means for a better grip of the user during the performance of the exercise routines.
  • A further object of the present invention is to provide an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment with resistance mechanisms included, that allow the intensity selection of the riding and bike routines in a synchronized or independent manner.
  • The above mentioned objects, as well as others and the advantages of the present invention, will become apparent from the following detailed description thereof.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES OF THE INVENTION
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the integrated riding and bike exercise equipment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 shows the integrated riding and bike exercise equipment of the present invention in its folded position.
  • FIG. 3 shows the collapsible arm of the exercise equipment of the present invention in one of its preferred embodiments.
  • FIG. 4 shows a side view of the tilt selector plate (c) of one of the preferred embodiments of the exercise equipment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 shows a front perspective view of some of the embodiments of the integrated riding and bike exercise equipment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 shows a rear perspective view of some of the embodiments of the integrated riding and bike exercise equipment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an integrated riding and bike exercise equipment in which the mechanisms involved in the riding and bike movement are interconnected in such a way that both routines can be carried out simultaneously without the need to carry out transitions. Likewise, the present invention provides structural modifications to the riding and bike exercise equipment that provide greater stability and allows to perform more complex exercise routines than those commonly carried out in this type of equipment.
  • To achieve the above, the integral riding and bike exercise equipment of the present invention is comprised of:
  • a) a main support (1), with a pivoting base (3), located in its middle part, with a bar (4) provided with a rotating shaft;
  • b) a fork arm (9), whose open arms are connected to the terminal ends of the bar (4), while its upper arm receives a telescopic bar (10) with a seat (11), said upper arm having a safety (12) that allows to adjust the travel of the telescopic bar (10);
  • c) an “S” shaped frame (13) formed by two bent tubulars connected to each other by two bridges (14), which has bearings (15) located in its lower part, which are attached to the support (7) to be used it as rail and; a bridge (16), located at the upper end of the “S” shaped frame (13), which angularly receives a pair of “C” shaped supports (17) and, a base (18) for digital measurement equipment and;
  • d) a stationary bike assembly (19) having resistance means with pedals adapted thereto, whose housing is connected at its bottom to the rotating axis of the bar (4), while at the top it is joined at one end of a collapsible arm (20), the opposite end of the collapsible arm (20) being pivotally attached to the tubulars of the “S” shaped frame (13), said opposite end of the collapsible arm (20) having a reception cavity (21) on which rests an adjustable resistance mechanism (22), which is attached to the upper arm of the fork arm (9).
  • The riding and bike exercise equipment described above allows the ascent and descent movements of the riding mechanism to be carried out without the interference of the stationary bike, so that it is not necessary to descend from the equipment to change the function of the mechanical system between routines.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the main support (1) is formed by a substantially straight base (2) at its front end, which optionally has an elastic protrusion (2′) arranged therein to limit the movement of the housing of the stationary bike assembly (19) and; a “C” shaped connection (5) located at its rear end, the main support (1) being, in turn connected by the “C” shaped connection (5) to a terminal fan (6) that it is attached to a secondary support (7) that ends at a second base (8). Due to the configuration above described, the equipment can be easily folded, since it is only necessary to pull the secondary support (7) upwards, so that the terminal fan (6) pivots on the “C” shaped connection (5), causing the “S” shaped frame (13) to move its lower end closer to said “C” shaped connection (5); at the same time, the movement of the “S” shaped frame (13), folds the collapsible arm (20) in its middle part, forming a right angle that pushes the stationary bike assembly towards the front of the equipment and, at the same time raises the fork arm (9) so that it is approximately at an angle of 90° with respect to the main support (1). In this embodiment the equipment can have a magnetic piece arranged on the outside of the “S” shaped frame (13) to secure the main support (1) after folding.
  • In one embodiment of the present invention, the bearings (15) comprise an upper bearing and a lower bearing, the axis of the upper roller being articulated with the lower end of the “S” shaped frame (13), such that the secondary support (7) extends through said upper and lower bearings, supporting the “S” shaped frame travel (13).
  • In one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the terminal fan (6) has a series of perforations (a) in which a pin (b) is inserted that serves as a safety that avoids the elevation of the secondary support (7) when this is located in the upper holes, while being placed in the lower holes serves as a safety to keep the equipment folded.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the upper arm of the fork arm (9) has a tilt selector plate (c) with multiple through holes and a pair of perforations (d) located in the “S” shaped frame (13), which allows the insertion therethrough of a pin (e), so that the mechanism of the equipment can be locked at a selected angle to facilitate bike routines.
  • In another of the embodiments of the present invention, the seat (11) has a pair of supports (f) that serve as support for the user hands, so that it can be grasped during riding routines so that the user only rises on his legs
  • In a further embodiment of the present invention, the adjustable resistance mechanism (22) is a hydraulic cylinder with an intensity selector, while in another of its embodiments it is a variable resistance spring mechanism controlled by a compressor disk.
  • In a further embodiment of the present invention, the collapsible arm (20) is formed by a first section (g) that has a rotating shaft that connects with the upper part of the stationary bike assembly (19) and a free end with perforations and; a second section (h) that has a second rotating shaft that joins one of the perforations, a pin (i) that serves as a safety to keep the collapsible arm (20) in a right angle configuration and, an absorption stop (j), which stops the upper arm stroke of the fork arm (9).
  • In one of the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the base (2) of the main support (1), which has a pair of front wheels that facilitate the movement of the equipment, while in another of its embodiments the base (2) has “U” shape to increase the effective support area of the equipment. In this embodiment, the wheels are placed at the terminal ends of the “U”.
  • Additionally, in another of its embodiments, the stationary bike assembly (19), has a power generation mechanism that is activated by a mechanical system connected to the pedal axis, which allows the user effort to be transmitted to an electric generator whose output it is connected to an output regulator located at the base (18). In this way, the user can use the base (18) as a charging center for electronic devices. In this embodiment, the base (18) can have for example USB type, C type USB or lightning type connectors.
  • The present invention has been described according to a preferred embodiment; however, it will be apparent to a technician with average knowledge in the field, that modifications may be made to the invention, without departing from its spirit and scope.
