• filter cartridges As is known, different types of disposable filter cartridges, inserts or capsules exist for espresso coffee machines. These filter cartridges comprise a generally cylindrical body for containing the coffee powder, which is closed on the filling side by a first filter and on the side for discharging the coffee infusion by a second filter. These filter cartridges are contained inside suitable filter-holder elements provided in the espresso coffee machine. The hot water under pressure produced by these machines therefore passes through the filter cartridge and by flowing over the coffee powder produces, through suitable nozzles formed in the filter holder, the coffee infusion.
