Abstract

従来よりも曲げ疲労強度に優れるクランクシャフトを提案する。クランクピン部およびジャーナル部の表面に焼入れ硬化層を有するクランクシャフトであって、C:0.40~0.51mass%、Si:0.30~0.80mass%、Mn:0.50~1.50mass%、Al:0.040mass%以下(ゼロを含む)、Ti:0.005~0.06mass%、Mo:0.15~0.50mass%、B:0.0005~0.0030mass%、S:0.06mass%以下、P:0.02mass%以下およびCr:0.2mass%以下を含有し、残部はFeおよび不可避的不純物の組成になり、母材組織が、べイナイト組織およびまたはマルテンサイト組織を有し、かつこれらベイナイト組織とマルテンサイト組織の合計の組織分率が10%以上であり、さらに高周波焼入れ後の表面硬化層の旧オーステナイト粒径が硬化層全厚にわたり10μm以下であり、クランクピン部およびジャーナル部のフィレットr部分の曲げ疲労限強度が800MPa以上であることを特徴とする、曲げ疲労強度に優れるクランクシャフト。

曲げ疲労強度に優れるクランクシャフト 技術分野
本発明は、 クランクピン部おょぴジャーナル部の表面に高周波焼入れによる硬化層 をそなえるクランクシャフトに関し、 特に、 その曲げ疲労強度の有利な向上を図ろう とするものである。 背景技術
自動車エンジンなどの内燃機関におけるビストンの往復運動を回転運動に変更する 部品として、 クランクシャフトが用いられている。
このクランクシャフト 1 は、 図 1に示すように、 シリンダーへのジャーナル部 2、 ビストン用コネクティング口ッドの軸受け部であるクランクピン部 3、 クランクゥェ ブ部 4およびカウンタウェイ ト部 5を備えていて、 特にジャーナル部 2およびクラン クピン部 3には高周波焼入れを施して、 その疲労強度の向上を図っている。
しかしながら、 最近の内燃機関の高出力化に伴い、 クランクシャフトのさらなる強 化、 特に曲げ疲労強度の向上が要請されている。 ここに、 クランクシャフトの曲げ疲 労強度を向上させるには、 上記したジャーナル部 2およぴクランクピン部 3、 とくに ジャーナル部 2のカウンタウェイ ト部 5との境界並びにクランクピン部 3のクランク ウェブ部 4との境界点である、 フィレツト r部 7における疲労強度を高めることが有 効である。
なぜなら、 この部位は形状的に応力が集中する部分であり、 クランクシャフトの疲 労破損の起点となりやすいためである。
疲労強度を向上させるためには、 粒界強度の向上が有効であり、 この観点から Ti Cを分散させることによって旧オーステナイト粒径を微細化する技術が、 例えば特許 文献 1に提案されている。
上記の特許文献 1に記載された技術では、 高周波焼入れ加熱時に微細な Ti Cを多量 に分散させることで、 旧オーステナイ ト粒径の徽細化を図るものであるため、 焼入れ 前に T i Cを溶体化しておく必要があり、 熱間圧延工程で llOOt以上に加熱する工程 を採用している。 そのため、 熱延時に加熱温度を高くする必要があり、 生産性に劣る という問題があった。
また、 上記の特許文献 1に開示された技術をもってしても、 クランクシャフトの曲 げ疲労強度に対する要求には十分に応えることができなった。
また、 特許文献 2には、 硬化層深さ CDと高周波焼入れ軸物部品の半径 Rとの比 (CD /R) を 0. 3〜0. 7に制限した上で、 この CDZRと高周波焼入れ後の表面から 1讓ま でのオーステナイト結晶粒径 y f 、高周波焼入れままの (CDZR ) '=0. 1までの平均ビ ッカース硬さ Hf および高周波焼入れ後の軸中心部の平均ビッカース硬さ Heで規定さ れる値 Aを、 C量に応じて所定の範囲に制御することによって、 ねじり疲労強度を向 上させた機械構造用軸物部品が提案されている。
しかしながら、 この部品では、 焼入れ硬化層の全厚にわたる旧オーステナイ ト粒径 に考慮が払われていない。 このため、 やはり本発明で所期したほど良好な曲げ疲労強 度を得ることはできなかった。
さらに、 特許文献 3には、 成形加工後、 二段の高周波焼入れにより、 表面 y粒度を JIS G0551 の粒度 No.で 10以上とし、 かつ炭化物を微細に分散させることによって 転動疲労強度を改善する技術が提案されている。
しかしながら、 この技術は、 焼入れ硬化層深さが浅いこともあって、 やはり本発明 で所期したほど良好な曲げ疲労強度を得ることはできなかった。 特許文献 1 : 特開 2000— 154819号公報 (特許請求の範囲、 段落 [ 0 0 0 8 ]) 特許文献 2 : 特開平 8— 53714号公報 (特許請求の範囲)

本発明は、 上記の現状に鑑み開発されたもので、 従来よりも曲げ疲労強度に優れる クランタシャ.フトについて、 提案することを目的とする。
さて、 発明者らは、 クランクシャフトの曲げ疲労強度を効果的に向上させるベく、 鋭意検討を行った。
その結果、 以下に述べるように、 クランクシャフ トの化学組成、 組織おょぴ焼入れ 後の硬化層全厚にわたる旧オーステナイ ト粒径を最適化することにより、 優れた曲げ 疲労強度を有するクランクシャフトが得られるとの、 以下の ( i ) ないし(iii)の知見 を得た。
( i ) 適正な化学組成に調整したクランクシャフトの必要部位に、 焼入れを施し、 焼 入れ硬化層全厚にわたる旧オーステナイト粒径を 10 /ί πι以下好ましくは 5 以下と することによって、 曲げ疲労強度が顕著に向上する。 具体的には、 化学組成に関して は、 特に Siおよび Moを適正な範囲で添加することで、 高周波焼入れ加熱時における オーステナイ トの核生成サイ ト数が増加し、 またオーステナイ ト粒の成長が抑制され ることにより、 焼入れ硬化層の粒経が効果的に微細化し、 その結果曲げ疲労強度が顕 著に向上する。
(ii) クランクシャフ トの母材の組織、 すなわち焼入れ前の組織を、 ベイナイト組織 および Zまたはマルテンサイ ト組織 特定の分率で含有された組織にすると、 ベイナ ィト組織あるいはマルテンサイ ト組織がフェライ ト一パーライト組織に比べて炭化物 が微細に分散した組織であるため、 焼入れ加熱時にオーステナイ トの核生成サイトで あるフェライ ト /炭化物の界面の面積が増えて、 生成したオーステナイトが微細化す る。 その結果、 焼入れ硬化層の粒径が微細となり、 これにより粒界強度が向上し、 曲 げ疲労強度が向上する。
(iii) さらに、 クランクシャフトにおける焼入部の必要箇所について検討を行ったと ころ、 クランクシャフトの使用環境下ではピン部おょぴジャーナル部のフィレツト r 部に応力が集中するため、 この部分の焼入深さを十分に確保する必要のあることがわ かった。 そして、 この部分の焼入れ深さ (硬化層厚) が 2. 0mmより浅い場合には、 内 部の焼き境 (硬化層と非硬化層との境目位置)' を起点に早期の疲労破壌を起こすこと が判明した。 従って、 フィレツト r部の硬化層の厚みを 2. 0mm以上として内部起点の 早期破壌を抑制することが曲げ瘃労強度の向上に特に有効であることがわかった。 本発明は、 上記の知見に立脚するものである。
すなわち、 本発明の要旨構成は次のとおりである。

以下、 本発明を具体的に説明する。
まず、 本発明において、 クランクシャフ トの成分組成を上記の範囲に限定した理由 について説明する。
C : 0. 40〜0. 51mass%
Cは、 焼入れ性への影響が最も大きい元素であり、 焼入れ硬化層の硬さおよぴ深ざ を高めて疲労強度の向上に有効に寄与する。 しかしながら、 含有量が 0. 40mass%に満 たないと、 必要とされる疲労強度を確保するためには焼き入れ硬化深さを飛躍的に深 くしなくてはならず、 その際焼割れの発生が顕著となり、 またべイナイ ト組織も生成 し難くなるため、 0. 40mass%以上を添加する。 一方、 0. 51mass%を超えて含有させる と粒界強度が低下し、 それに伴い曲げ疲労強度が低下し、 また切削性、 冷間鍛造性お よぴ耐焼割れ性も低下する。 このため Cは、 0. 40〜0. 51mass%の範囲に限定した。 な お、 0. 45mass%以上がより好ましい範囲である。
Si: 0. 30~0. 80mass%
Siは、 焼入れ加熱時にオーステナイトの核生成サイト数を増加させると共に、 ォー ステナイ トの粒成長を抑制し、焼入れ硬化層の粒径を微細化する作用を有する。また、 炭化物生成を抑制し、 炭化物による粒界強度の低下を抑制する。 さらに、 ベイナイ ト 組織の生成にも有用な元素であり、 これらのことにより曲げ疲労強度を向上させる。 このように、 Siは、 本発明において非常に重要な元素であり、 0. 30niass%以上の含 有を必須とする。 というのは、 Si量を 0. 30mass%以上とすることによって、 硬化層全 厚にわたって粒径を 10 i ni以下の微細粒とすることができるからである。 しかしなが ら、 Si量が 0. 80mass%を超えると、 フェライトの固溶硬化により硬さが上昇し、 切削 性およぴ冷間鍛造性の低下を招く。 従って、 Siは、 0. 30〜0. 80mass%の範囲に限定し た。 なお、 より好ましい Si量は.0. 40mass%以上である。
Mn: 0. 50〜1. 50mass%
Mnは、 焼入れ性を向上させ、 焼入れ時の硬化深さを確保する上で不可欠の成分であ るため、 積極的に添加するが、 含有量が 0. 50mass%未満ではその添加効果に乏しいの で、 0. 50mass%以上とした。 一方、 Mn量が 1. 50mass%を超えると、 母材の硬質化を招 き、 被削性に不利となるので、 Mn は 1. 50mass%以下とした。 より好ましい Mn 量は 0. 70mass%以下である。
A1: 0. 040mass%以下 (ゼロを含む)
A1は、 脱酸に有効な元素である。 また、 焼入れ加熱時におけるオーステナイ ト粒成 長を抑制することによって焼入れ硬化層の粒径を微細化する上でも有用な元素であり、 必要に応じて好ましくは 0. 005mass%以上で含有させることができる。 しかしながら 0. 040mass%を超えて含有させてもその効果は飽和し、むしろ酸化物の増加により疲労 強度の低下を招くおそれがあるため、 A1は 0. 040mass%以下の範囲に限定した。
Ti: 0. 005〜0. 06mass%
Ti ,は、不可避的不純物として混入する Νと結合することで、 Βが ΒΝとなって Βの焼 入れ性向上効果が消失するのを防止し、 Βの焼入れ性向上効果を十分に発揮させる作 用を有する。
この効果を得るためには、 少なく とも 0. 005mass %の含有を必要とするが、 0. 06mass%を超えて含有されると、 TiNの粗大化や、酸化物の生成をまねく結果、 これ らが疲労破壊の起点となって曲げ疲労強度の著しい低下を招くことから、 Ti は 0. 005 〜0. 06mass%の範囲に限定した。 より好ましい範囲は 0. 030mass%以下である。
Mo: 0. 15〜0. 50mass%
Moは、 べィナイ ト組織の生成を促進することにより、 焼入れ加熱時のオーステナイ ト粒径を微細化し、 焼入れ硬化層の粒径を細粒化する作用がある。 また、 焼入れ加熱 時におけるオーステナイ トの粒成長を抑制することにより、 焼入れ硬化層の粒径を微 細化する作用がある。 さらに、 焼入れ性の向上に有用な元素であるため、 焼入れ性を 調整するために用いられる。 加えて、 Moは、 炭化物の生成を抑制し、 炭化物による粒 界強度の低下を有効に阻止する元素でもある。 このように、 Moは、 本発明において非常に重要な元素であり、 含有量が 0. 15mass% に満たないと、 製造条件や焼入れ条件をいかように調整しても硬化層全厚にわたって 粒径が lO m以下の微細粒とすることができない。 しかしながら、 0. 50mass%を超え て含有させると、 圧延材の硬さが著しく上昇し、 加工性の低下を招く。 従って、 Moは 0. 15〜0. 50mass%の範囲に限定した。 より好ましい Mo量は、 0. 30〜0. 50mass%の範囲 である。
B : 0. 0005~0. 0030mass%
Bは、べィナイト組織あるいはマルテンサイト組織の生成を促進する効果を有する。 また、 Bは、 微量の添加によって焼入れ性を向上させ、 焼入れ時の焼入れ深さを高め ることにより曲げ疲労強度を向上させる効果がある。 さらに、 Bは、 粒界に優先的に 偏祈して、 粒界に偏祈する Pの濃度を低減し、 粒界強度を向上させ、 もって曲げ疲労 強度を向上させる作用もある。
このため、 本発明では、 Bを積極的に添加するが、 含有量が 0. 0005mass%に満たな いとその添加効果に乏レく、 一方 0. 0030mass%を超えて含有させるとその効果は飽和 し、ポロン化合物の増加により疲労強度の低下を招くため、 Bは 0. 0005〜0· 0030mass% の範囲に限定した。
S : 0. 06mass%以下
Sは、 鋼中で Mn Sを形成し、 切削性を向上させる有用元素であるが、 0. 06mass%を 超えて含有させると粒界に偏折して粒界強度を低下させるため、 Sは 0. 06mass%以下 に制限した。
P : 0. 02mass%以下
Pは、 オーステナイ トの粒界に偏祈し、 粒界強度を低下させることにより、 曲げ疲 労強度を低下させる。 また、 焼割れを助長する弊害もある。 従って、 Pの含有は極力 低減することが望ましいが、 0. 02mass%までは許容される。
Cr: 0. 2mass%以下
Crは、 炭化物を安定化させて残留炭化物の生成を助長し、 粒界強度を低下させて曲 げ疲労強度を低下させる。 従って、 の含有は極力低減することが望ましいが、 0. 2mass%までは許容できる。
以上、 基本成分について説明したが、 本発明ではその他にも、 以下に述べる元素を 適宜含有させることができる。 Cu: 1. Omass%以下
Cuは、 焼入れ性の向上に有効であり、 またフヱライト中に固溶し、 この固溶強化に よって、 曲げ疲労強度を向上させる。 また、 炭化物の生成を抑制することにより.、 炭 化物による粒界強度の低下を抑制し、 曲げ疲労強度を向上させる。 しかしながら、 含 有量が 1. 0mass%を超えると熱間加工時に割れが発生するため、 1. 0mass°/o以下の添加 とする。 '
Ni: 3. 5mass%以下
Mは、 焼入れ性を向上させる元素であるので、 焼入れ性を調整する場合に用いる。 また、 炭化物の生成を抑制し、 炭化物による粒界強度の低下を抑制して、 曲げ疲労強 度を向上させる元素でもある。しかしながら、!^は極めて高価な元素であり、 3. 5mass% を超えて添加すると鋼材のコストが上昇するので、 3. 5mass%以下の添加とする。なお、 0. 05mass%未満の添加では、 焼入れ性の向上効果おょぴ粒界強度の低下抑制効果が小 さいため、 0. 05mass%以上含有させることが望ましい。
Co: 1. 0mass%以下
Coは、 炭化物の生成を抑制して、 炭化物による粒界強度の低下を抑制し、 曲げ疲労 強度を向上させる元素である。しかしながら、 Coは極めて高価な元素であり、 1. 0mass% を超えて添加すると鋼材のコストが上昇するため、 1. 0mass%以下の添加とする。なお、 0. 01mass%未満の添加では、 粒界強度の低下抑制効果が小さいため、 0. 01mass%以上 添加することが望ましい。
Nb: 0. lmass%以下
Nbは、 焼入れ性の向上効果があるだけでなく、 鋼中で C, Nと結合し析出強化元素 として作用する。 また、 焼もどし軟化抵抗性を向上させる元素でもあり、 これらの効 果によって曲げ疲労強度を向上させる。 しカゝしながら、 0. lmass%を超えて含有させて もその効果は飽和するので、 0. lmass%を上限とする。 なお、 0. 005%未満の添加では、 析出強化用および焼もどし軟化抵抗性の向上効果が小さいため、 0. 005maSS%以上添加 することが望ましい。
V: 0. 5mass%以下
Vは、 鋼中で C, Nと結合し析出強化元素として作用する。 また、 焼もどし軟化抵 抗性を向上させる元素でもあり、 これらの効果により曲げ疲労強度を向上させる。 し かしながら、 0. 5mass%を超えて含有させてもその効果は飽和するので、 0. 501 3 %以 下とする。なお、 0. 01mass%未満の添加では、曲げ疲労強度の向上効果が小さいので、 0. 01mass%以上添加することが望ましい。 好ましくは 0. 03〜0. 3mass%である。
Te: 0. 2mass%以下
Se: 0. 2mass%以下
Teおよび Seは、 それぞれ Mnと結合して MnTeおよび MnSeを形成し、 これらがチッ プブレーカ一として作用することにより被削性を改善する。 しかしながら、 含有量が それぞれ 0. 2mass%を超えると、効果が飽和する上、成分コストの上昇を招くので、 い ずれも 0. 2mass%以下で含有させるものとした。 なお、 好適範囲は 0. lmass%以下であ る。 また、 被削性の改善のためには、 Te の場合は 0. 003masS%以上、 Se の場合は 0. 003mass%以上含有させることが好ましい。
Ca: 0. 02mass%以下
REM: 0. 03mass%以下
Zr: 0. 2mass%以下
Ca REMおよび Zrはそれぞれ MnSと共に硫化物を形成し、 これがチップブレーカー として作用することにより被削性を改善する。 しかしながら、 Ca、 REMおよび Zrをそ れぞれ、 0. 02mass%、 0. 03mass%および 0. 2niass%を超えて含有させても、効果が飽和 する上、成分コストの上昇を招くので、それぞれ上記の範囲で含有させるものとした。 より好ましくは Ca: 0. 01mass%以下、 REM: 0. 015mass%以下、 Zr: 0. lmass%以下の範 囲である。なお、被削性の改善のためには、 Caは 0. 0001mass%¾上、 REMは 0. 0001mass% 以上、 Zrは 0. 003mass%以上含有させることが好ましい。
Sn: 0. 3mass%以下
Sb: 0. 2mass%以下
Snおよび Sbはいずれも、脆化作用により被削性を向上させる元素である。 しかしな がら、 Sn: 0. 3mass%および Sb: 0. 2niass%を超えて添加しても、 効果が飽和する上、 コストが上昇し、 経済的に不利となるため、 それぞれ上記の範囲で含有させるものと した。 より好ましくは、 Sn: 0. 15mass%以下、 Sb: 0. lmass%以下の範囲である。 なお、 被削性改善のためには、 Snは 0. 005mass%以上、 Sbは 0. 0005mass%以上含有させるこ とが好ましい。
Mg: 0. 02mass%以下、 Hf : 0. lmass%以下
Mgおよび Hf はいずれも、脱酸元素であるだけでなく、応力集中源となって被削性を 改善する効果があるので、 必要に応じて添加することができる。 しかしながら、 過剰 に添加すると効果が飽和する上、 成分コストが上昇するため、 それぞれ上記の範囲で 含有させるものとした。 より好ましくほ、 Mg: 0. 01mass %以下、 Hf : 0. 05mass%以下 の範囲である。 なお、 被削性の改善のためには、 Mg は 0. 0001mass %以上、 Hf は 0. 005mass%以上含有させることが好ましい。
以上、 好適成分組成の範囲について説明したが、 本発明では、 成分組成を上記の範 囲に限定するだけでは不十分で、 銅組織の調整も重要である。
すなわち、 本発明においては、 クランクシャフ トの母材組織すなわち焼入れ前の組 織 (高周波焼入れ後の硬化層以外の組織に相当) が、 ベイナイト組織おょぴ Zまたは マルテンサイト組織を有し、 かつこれらべイナィト組織とマルテンサイト組織の合計 の組織分率を体積分率 (vol%) で 10%以上とする必要がある。 この理由は、 べィナイ ト組織あるいはマルテンサイ ト組繊は、 フェライトーパーライ ト組織に比べて炭化物 が微細に分散した組織であるため、 焼入れ加熱時にオーステナイトの核生成サイトで ある、 フェライ ト /炭化物界面の面積が増加し、 生成したオーステナイ トが微細化す るため、 焼入れ硬化層の粒径を微細化するのに有効に寄与するからである。 そして、 焼入れ硬化層の粒径の微細化により、 粒界強度が上昇し、 曲げ疲労強度が向上する。 ここに、べィナイ ト組織とマルテンサイト組織の合計の組織分率は 20vol%以上とす ることがより好ましい。
なお、べィナイ ト組織あるいはマルテンサイト組織以外の残部組織は、フェライ ト、 パーライト等いずれでもよく、 特に規定しない。
また、 焼入れ後の硬化層の粒径の微細化に関しては、 マルテンサイト組織もべイナ イト組織と同程度の効果を有するが、 工業的な観点からは、 マルテンサイト粗繊に比 ぺてべイナィ ト組織の方がより合金元素の添加量が少なくて済み、 また低冷却速度で 生成させることが可能であるため、 製造上有利となる。
また、 本発明のクランクシャフ トでは、 高周波焼入れ後の硬化層の旧オーステナイ ト粒径の調整も重要である。 すなわち、 高周波焼入れ後の硬化層に関し、 その全厚に わたって旧オーステナイ ト粒径を lO m以下とする必要がある。 というのは、 焼入れ 硬化層の全厚にわたる粒径が を超えると、 十分な粒界強度が得られず、 その結 果満足行くほどの曲げ疲労強度の向上が望めないからである。 なお、 好ましくは、 5 /i m以下、 さらに好ましくは 2 /i m以下である。 ここに、 焼入れ硬化層の全厚にわたる旧オーステナイ ト粒径の測定は、 次のように して行う。
高周波焼入れ後の本発明のクランクシャフトでは、 高周波焼入れした部分の最表層 は面積率で 100%のマルテンサイト組織を有する。そして、表面から内部にいくに従い、 ある深さまでは 100%マルテンサイト組織の領域が続くが、ある深さから急激にマルテ ンサイト組織の面積率が減少する。
本発明では、 高周波焼入れした部分について、 鋼材表面から、 マルテンサイト組織 の面積率が 98%に減少するまでの深さ領域を硬化層と定義する。
そして、 この硬化層について、 表面から硬化層厚の 1/5位置、 1/2位置おょぴ 4ノ 5位置それぞれの位置における平均旧オーステナイ ト粒径を測定し、いずれの平均旧ォ ーステナイ ト粒径も ΙΟ μ ηι以下である場合に、 焼入れ硬化層の全厚にわたる旧オース テナイ ト粒径が 10 m以下であるとする。
なお、 平均旧オーステナイト粒径の測定は、 光学顕微鏡により、 400倍 (1視野の面 積: 0. 25腿 X 0. 225應) 力 ら 1000倍 ( 1視野の面積: 0. lOmrn X 0. 09讓) で、 各位置毎 に 5視野観察し、 画像解析装置により平均粒径を測定することにより行う。
さらに、 本発明のクランクシャフトでは、 特にクランクピン部おょぴジャーナル部 のフィレツト r部分では、その曲げ疲労限強度が 800MPa以上であることが必要である。 なぜなら、 これにより、 エンジンのコンパクト化または軽量化が実現できるためであ る。
フィレツト r部の曲げ疲労限強度を 800MPa以上とするには、 フィレッ ト r部の硬化 層厚を 2. 0應以上とする必要がある。 図 2は、 ピン部またはジャーナル部の断面を模 式的に示す図であるが、 フィレット : r部の硬化層厚とは、 図 2に示すように、 フィレ ット r部 7から最も近い焼き境までの距離 Lのことを言う。 クランクシャフトの使用 環境下ではピン部おょぴジャーナル部のフィ レツト r部に応力が集中するため、 この 部分の焼入深さを十分に確保する必要がある。 フィレッ ト r部の硬化層厚が 2. 0mm未 満では、 曲げ疲労限強度 800MPa以上を確保することが困難となる。
また、 ピン部おょぴジャーナル部の軸平滑部 8の硬化層厚 Mについても、 2. 0腿以上 を確保する必要がある。 軸平滑部 8の硬化層厚を十分に確保しないと軸平滑部 8の焼 き境から内部破壌が発生するようになるためである。なお、軸平滑部の硬化層厚とは、 軸平滑部表面から、 最も近い焼き境までの距離のことを言う。 次に、 本発明の製造条件について説明する。
本発明では、 所定の成分組成に調整した鋼材を、 熱間圧延により丸棒としたのち、 所定の長さに切断し、 ついで熱間鍛造によりクランクシャフトに成形後、 必要に応じ て焼ならしを施したのち、 切削加工を施し、 その後高周波焼入れ,焼戻し処理を施し たのち、 必要に応じて仕上げ加工またはショットピーニングを施して、 製品とする。 熱間鍛造おょぴその後の冷却を適性な条件とすることで、 上述の母材組織、 すなわ ち焼入れ前の組織をべイナィト組織おょぴノまたはマルテンサイ ト組織を有し、 かつ これらべィナイト組織とマルテンサイト組織との分率を 10%以上とする。 熱間鍛造温 度は 800°C以上とし、 熱間鍛造後 0. 2V/s以上の冷却速度で冷却すればよい。
また、 硬化層の旧オーステナイト粒径を 10 /z m以下とするために、 高周波焼入時の 最高到達温度は 800~1050°Cとし、 また加熱速度は 200°C/s以上とする必要がある。 最高到達温度が 800°C未満では焼入れによる硬化層を形成させることができない。一方、 最高到達温度が 1050°C超であったり、加熱速度が 200°CZs未満では、硬化層の旧ォー ステナイ ト粒径が 10 m超となり、 曲げ疲労限強度が確保できなくなる。 なお、 高周 波焼入時の最高到達温度は 950°C以下とすることがより好ましく、 950°C以下とすれば、 旧オーステナイ ト粒径が 5 /z m以下の超微細な硬化層を得ることができる。'
実施例 '''
表 1に示す成分組成になる鋼素材を、 転炉により溶製し、 連続鎳造により鎵片とし た。铸片サイズは 300 X 400讓であった。 この鎳片を、熱間圧延により 90腿 ^の棒鋼に 圧延した。 ついで、 この棒鋼を所定の長さに切断後、 1200°Cに加熱した後に、 曲げか ら仕上げまでの各熱間鍛造を行い、 さらにパリ取りを行ってクランクシャフ ト形状に 成形後、 約' 0. 7t/ sで冷却した。 なお、 鋼記号 Cについては、 比較のため、 成形後の 冷却を 0. 08°CZ sの条件としたも..のも作製した。 さらに、 オイル穴あけ加工おょぴ仕 上げ切削加工によりクランクシャフト形状に仕上げた。 なお、 熱間鍛造の仕上温度は べィナイトあるいはマルテンサイト組織生成の観点から 900°C超とした。
ついで、 図 3にクランクシャフ トの断面図を示すように、 クランクシャフトのクラ ンクピン部おょぴジャーナル部の表面に、 高周波焼入れ (加熱速度 250°〇 s、最高加 熱温度 890°C (表 2中の No. 1 〜33, 39〜42) 又は 1030°C (表 2中の No. 34〜38) で保 持時間なし) を行って硬化層 6を形成させたのち、 加熱炉を用いて 170 、 30分の焼 戻しを行い、 さらに仕上げ加工を施して、 製品とした。 なお、 硬化層深さは、 高周波 の出力条件の調整により、 調整した。
かくして得られたクランクシャフトの曲げ疲労強度について調べた結果を、 表 2に 示す。 ここに、 クランクシャフトの曲げ疲労強度は、 次のようにして評価した。
すなわち、 図 4に示すように、 クランクシャフトのクランクピン部にコネクティン グロッドを取り付け、 クランクシャフトの端部は固定した状態で、 各コネクティング 口ッドに一定の繰り返し荷重を負荷する耐久試験を行い、 その時のピン部またはジャ ーナル部が破損するまでの繰り返し数を求め、 107回以上でも破損しない上限応力を、 曲げ疲労限強度とした。
なお、 曲げ強度としては、 上記の負荷状態におけるフィレツト r部の負荷応力を、 有限要素法解析により求めた.値で評価した。
また、 同じクランクシャフトについて、 母材組織、 焼入れ後の軸平滑部及ぴフィレ ット r部の硬化層厚み、 硬化層の全厚にわたって得られる平均硬化層粒径 (旧オース テナイト粒径) を、 光学顕微鏡を用いて測定した。
これらの結果も表 2に併記する。
ここで、 硬化層厚みについては、 前述したように、 鋼材表面からマルテンサイト組 織の面積率が 98%に減少する深さまでとした。
さらに、 硬化層粒径については、 表面から硬化層厚の 1ノ 5位置、 1ノ 2位置おょぴ 4 Z5位置それぞれの位置における平均旧オーステナイ ト粒径を測定し、それらの最大値 を示した。
なお、硬化層粒径の測定は、硬化層の厚さ方向に切断した断面について、水 500 gに 対しピクリン酸: 50 gを溶解させたピクリン酸水溶液に、 ドデシルベンゼンスルホン 酸ナトリウム: ll g、 塩化第 1鉄: 1 gおよぴシユウ酸: 1. 5gを添加したものを腐食 液として作用させ、 旧オーステナイ ト粒界を現出させて行った。

これに対して, No . 9 は、 熱間鍛造後の冷却速度を 0. 08°C Z秒と小さくした比較例 であるが、 べィナイトとマルテンサイトの合計組織分率が 10%未満となっており、 そ の結果、 硬化層粒径が粗大となり、 曲げ疲労強度が低い。
No. 18は硬化層粒径は微細であるものの、 C含有量が本発明の範囲より高いため、 粒界強度の低下を招き、 そのため曲げ疲労強度が劣っている。
No, 19. 20、 21はそれぞれ C, S i , Moの含有量が本発明の適正範囲よりも低いため、 硬化層粒径が粗大となり、 曲げ疲労強度が劣っている。
No. 22は B含有量が、また No . 23は Mn含有量が、 No. 24は Sおよび P含有量が、 No . 25は A1含有量が、 No. 26は Cr含有量が、 それぞれ本発明の適正範囲を超えているた め、 いずれも粒界強度の低下を招き、 曲げ疲労強度が劣っている。
No. 27は、 Ti含有量が本発明の適正範囲を超えているため、 曲げ疲労強度が劣って おり、 逆に No . 28は Ti含有量が低いため、 硬化層粒径が粗大となり、 曲げ疲労強度 が劣っている。
No. 39および 41は、 フィレット r部の硬化層厚みが十分でなく、 No. 40および 42は 軸平滑部の硬化層厚みが十分でなく、 曲げ疲労強度が劣っている。 産業上の利用可能性
かくして、 本発明によれば、 従来に比べて、 格段に優れた曲げ疲労強度を有するク ランクシャフトを安定して得ることができ、 その結果、 自動車用部品の軽量化の要求 に対して偉功を奏する。
