- the present invention relates to a floor construction in particular designed for outdoor use, which floor construction comprises a number of boards extending substantially parallel to each other, but spaced a distance apart, and rest on transversally extending girders, which boards are provided with continuous grooves along the side edges thereof.
- a filler rail for use between boards that are placed parallel to each other and by some interstice.
- the filler rail has a predetermined profile having sideways directed projections which are intended to be received in slots milled in the longitudinally extending side edges of the boards. Moreover it has a central portion being sideways resilient and having a width that can be increased or decreased according as external, mechanical loadings act against the filler rail.
- the main purpose of the filler rail is to prevent water to pass between the boards and in a way act as a roof, primarily when there is traffic by persons underneath. Another purpose is to prevent objects to fall down between the boards.
- the purpose of the present invention is to provide a floor construction of the introductory said kind w-hich is easy to assemble both for the layman and the skilled in the art, in addition to achieve the purpose of creating a good filler between the boards so that objects do not fall in between and rainwater is lead out to the sides.
- a floor construction of the introductory said type which is distinguished in that the floor construction in an assembled state includes an underlying chute profile that is located in the interstice between adjacent boards, which chute profile has upwards projecting side walls designed to be received within said grooves along the side edges of the boards, said grooves open downwards in an assembled state of the boards.
- the continuous grooves have substantial sideways clearance to the upwards projecting side walls of the chute profile.
- the disclosed floor construction as defined above also can be used as a roof on a house or cabin, for example.
- the board itself which board is distinguished in that it has cut out continuous grooves along at least one of its side edges and on that surface that constitute the width of the board, and that some material corresponding approximately to the thickness of the chute profile is removed between the groove and the side edge.
- chute profile itself, which chute profile is distinguished in that it has a substantially right-angled U-shape.
- the chute profile is made of plastic material, preferably extruded plastic.

- figure 1 shows a board 2, normally of wooden material, that is specially prepared for use with the now proposed floor construction. It is to be understood, however, that even if it in the text is referred to a floor construction, the construction can also easily be adapted to and used as roof.
- the basis is a regular floor board, preferably with rounded edges intended for the side facing upwards.
- the board 2 is processed in the longitudinal direction on that side which is designed to face downwards.
- a groove 3 is formed in each side and the grooves 3 open downwards in assembled state of the board. In addition some material is removed from the board 2 on that side of the groove 3 being adjacent to the longitudinal edges.
- FIG 2 shows a chute 5 to be used together with the board 2.
- the chute 5 has a bottom part 5a and two upwards projecting side walls 5b. Together they form a substantial straight angled U-shape to form a chute profile which is well suited to transport water.
- the chute may be made of any suited material, for example plastic or suitable metal like aluminum.
- Figure 3 shows the assembled floor construction 1 according to the invention.
- the floor construction 1 comprises a number of boards 2 which extend substantially parallel to each other, but having a distance d from each other.
- the boards 2 rest on a number of transversally extending girders 4, here is only the nearest shown.
- the boards 2 have continuous grooves 3 along the side edges thereof, on the side designed to face downwards.
- the above described chute 5 is located underneath and in the interstice between adjacent boards 2 and rests on the girders 4.
- the upwards extending side walls 5b of the chute 5 is designed for receipt within said downwards opening grooves 3 along the side edges of the board 2 in assembled condition.
- the material removed from the board 2 adjacent to the groove 3 is designed to provide space for the material thickness of the chute 5.
- the groove 3 wider than the material thickness of the upwards extending side walls 5b in order to provide some space for sideways displacement between the boards, for example due to weather conditions like frost and heat, or rain and drought.
- FIG 4 only illustrates that it is fully possible to use the floor construction 1 also as roof 6 on buildings 7 in addition to floor 8.
- the floor construction can include separate channel profiles as end termination of the floor construction 1.
- the channel profiles extend transversally to the boards 2 and are supposed to collect the water and lead the water away to suitable place.
