After step S342, the mobile communication terminal 10 may set an alarm sound that will be used at the time of the alarm service. In this case, the mobile communication terminal 10 may set the alarm sound to one of the sounds contained therein or to an additional sound through the alarm service server 400, and may be provided with the set alarm sound. The process of setting the alarm sound to the additional alann sound is described below.
  • the alarm service server 400 When receiving the approval information transmitted at step S342, the alarm service server 400 converts the alarm message text (for example, 'your friend has arrived at Samsung station' or 'the current location of the user is Samsung station'), which has been extracted at step S322, into voice through the text-to-voice conversion unit 471 at step S351.
  • the alarm service server 400 converts the resulting voice into an alarm sound through the alarm sound conversion unit 474 at step S352, and stores the alarm service information in the alarm service information database 462 through the alarm service unit 461 at step S353.
  • l ⁇ The alann service server 400 transmits the resulting alarm sound to the mobile communication temiinal 10 of the user at step S361.
  • the alarm service server 400 inquires of the user infomiation database 452 about the number of the mobile communication terminal of the user through the user management unit 451 and transmits the alarm sound based on the inquiry results. In this case, the alarm service server 400 transmits the alarm sound, together with a calling ID (calling number to which the alann sound will be matched).
  • the mobile communication terminal 10 of the user receives the alarm sound transmitted at ⁇ step S361 , and stores the alann sound to be matched to the calling ID at step S362.
  • the mobile communication terminal 10 may select one of the sounds contained therein and output the sound contained therein based on the alarm seivice provided by the alarm service server 400 at the time of the alarm service.
  • FIG. 9 is a flowchart iUustrating a process of selecting an alarm sound for the alann service according to the present invention.
  • the alarm service server 400 extracts the preset alann sound list from the alarm sound database 475 through the alarm service unit 461 to set the alarm sound, and transmits the alarm sound list, together with menu information, to the mobile communication terminal 10 at step S412.
  • the mobile communication terminal 10 displays the alarm sound list and the menu information.
  • the mobile communication terminal 10 transmits information about the selection of the alarm sound to the alarm service server 400 and determines whether a preview menu item has been selected at step S421. If it is determined that the preview menu item has been selected at step S421, the mobile communication terminal 10 transmits a preview request message to the alarm service server 400 at step S422. Accordingly, the alarm service server 400 receives the preview request message, extracts a corresponding alarm sound at step S423, and transmits review information to the mobile communic ⁇ on tenninal 10 at step S424. The mobile communication terminal 10 receives and plays the preview infonnation at step S425. The mobile communication terminal 10 deteimines whether a command to select the previewed alarm sound has been input at step S451.
  • the mobile communication terminal 10 transmits alarm sound selection information to the alarm service server 400 at step S452:
  • the alarm service server 400 transmits the previewed alarm sound to the mobile communication terminal 10 of the user at step S461.
  • the alarm service server 400 inquires of the user information database 452 about the number of the mobile communication terminal of the user through the user management unit 451 and transmits the alarm sound based on the inquiry results. In this case, the alarm service server 400 transmits the alarm sound, together with a calling ID (calling number to which the alarm sound will be matched).
  • FIG. 10 is a flowchart iUustrating an alarm service process according to the present invention.
  • the alarm service server 400 determines whether a terminal for an alarm service exists using the alarm service information database 462 through the alarm service unit 461 at step S510. If it is determined that the temiinal for an alarm service exists at step S510, H e alarm service server 400 determines whether the current time falls within the alann service period at step S520.
  • the alarm service server 400 extracts alarm service infomiation from the alarm service database 462 through the alarm service unit 461 and requests infonnation from the external server according to the alarm condition at step S530.
  • the alarm condition is a location condition
  • the alarm service 400 requests information about the location of the target 10a or mobile communication terminal 10 from the location information provision server 180 of the mobile communication network 100 through the location infonnation management unit 490
  • the alarm service server 400 requests weather information from the weather information provision server 190.
  • the alarm condition is a combinational condition
  • the alarm service server 400 requests information from all the conesponding external servers.
  • the external server(s) inquires about the requested information at step S540.
  • the location infonnation provision server 180 requests GPS location information from the target 10a and/or mobile communication terminal 10 or inquires about location information according to the cell infonnation of the BTS 112.
  • the weather condition information provision server 190 inquires about weather information. If the information is found, the external servers) (location information provision server 180 and/or weather information provision server 190) transmits inquiry results to the alarm sendee server
  • the alarm service unit 461 of the alarm service server 400 determines whether the inquiry results meet the alarm condition at step S560. If it is determined that the inquiry results do not meet the alarm condition at step S560, step S530 is re-performed after a predetennined time has elapsed. If it is determined that the inquiry conditions meet the alarm condition at step S560, the alarm service unit 461 requests the transmission of a call from the mobile communication network 100 using the number of the mobile communication terminal, for which the alarm service is performed, according to the extracted infonnation at step S581. In this case, the alarm service unit 461 set a calling number to a preset calling ID.
  • the call is transmitted to the mobile communication terminal 10 through the mobile communication network 100 at step S582.
  • the mobile communication tenninal 10 outputs a conesponding alann sound that is preset in connection with the calling number, at step S583.
  • the alarm sound may be one of the alarm sounds previously stored in the mobile communication terminal itself and the alarm sound provided by the alarm service server 400 as described above.
  • the alarm service unit 461 determines whether the alarm sound has been issued from the mobile communication tenninal 10 a set number of times depending on the alarm service information or a preset calling condition (for example, a calling time or the number of repetitions of the alarm sound) lias been fulfilled at step S591.
  • the alann service unit 461 terminates the transmission of the call at step S592.
  • conesponding information may be acquired from an external server according to one of the various event conditions and an alarm service may be provided according to the acquired information.
  • the alarm condition is a weather condition, a location condition or a combination of weather and location conditions
  • weather and/or location infonnation is acquired from the external server(s) (weather information provision server and/or location information provision server) and the alarm service is provided when the acquired information meets the alarm condition
  • the user acquires information from an external server according to a desired alarm condition, compares the acquired information with the alarm condition, and can set a desired alarm.
  • the alann service system and method of the present invention can provide alann service for various events in such a way as to acquire information about the location of an target, including the user's mobile communication temiinal, and provide the alarm service if the acquired information about the location meets the alarm condition, or in such a way as to set the alarm condition to a weather or location condition or a combination of weather and location conditions, acquire information from an external server and provide the alarm service if the acquired information meets the alarm condition
