発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0018] 以下、図面を参照して、本発明の実施の形態を詳細に説明する。 図 1は本発明の一実施形態に係る電話システム 10を表すブロック図である。
電話システム 10は、 IP電話交換機 15、ボイスメール装置 20、ルータ 31、電話端末
32、入力装置 33を有し、音声データを含む IPパケットによる電話端末 32同士での 通話を可能とするシステムである。
[0019] この電話システム 10では、 IP電話交 ^¾15、ボイスメール装置 20力 LAN (Local
Area Network)経由で分散配置されている。これに換えて、 IP電話交 «15とボイ スメール装置 20を一体的に構成することも可能である。
なお、図 1ではルータ 31と電話端末 32、入力装置 33とは、直接接続された状態を 表している力 途中に他のネットワーク(例えば、インターネット)を経由しても差し支え ない。
[0020] IP電話交換機 15は、ネットワーク IZF (インターフェース) 16、プロセッサ 17を有し 、ルータ 31を介して電話端末 32同士、および電話端末 32とボイスメール装置 20間 での通信 (通話)を制御する。
ネットワーク IZF16は、ルータ 31を介して、 IP電話交棚15と、ボイスメール装置 20、電話端末 32との交信を可能とする通信手段である。
プロセッサ 17は、いわゆる中央演算装置(CPU : Central Processing Unit)であり、 I P電話交換機 15全体の制御を行う。プロセッサ 17は、例えば、電話端末 32同士、お よび電話端末 32とボイスメール装置 20間での通信 (通話)を制御するための処理を 行う。
なお、ネットワーク IZF16とプロセッサ 17とが一体的に構成されたネットワークプロ セッサを用いることが可能である。
[0021] ボイスメール装置 20は、ネットワーク IZF (インターフェース) 21、プロセッサ 22、音 声パケット蓄積部 23、第 1一第 3データ変換部 24— 26、音声データ蓄積部 27を有し 、ルータ 31を介して電話端末 32への音声パケットの送受信を行う。なお、構成要素 の詳細は後述する。

入力装置 33は、 CD (CD—R、 CD— RW等)、 DVD、スマートメディア等の記録媒体 (メディア)力も音声データを入力して、音声パケットに変換してボイスメール装置 20 へと送信する装置である。
[0023] (ボイスメール装置 20の詳細)
以下に、ボイスメール装置 20の構成要素の詳細を説明する。
ネットワーク IZF21は、ルータ 31を介して、ボイスメール装置 20と電話端末 32との 交信を可能とする通信手段であり、受信部、送信部、パケット受信部として機能する。 ネットワーク IZF21は、 IPパケットを用いて音声データの送受信を行う。このときの I Pパケットはヘッダ (例えば、 RTPヘッダ)と符号化された音声データとを含む音声パ ケットである。音声データの符号ィ匕方式には G711、 G729、 G723. 1等を用いること ができる。また、この IPパケット (音声パケット)には、必要に応じて通信プロトコルに応 じた情報が付カ卩される。例えば、通信を UDP (User Datagram Protocol)で行う場合 には、この IPパケットは UDPパケットとして機能することになる。
[0024] プロセッサ 22は、いわゆる中央演算装置(CPU : Central Processing Unit)であり、 ボイスメール装置 20全体の制御を行う。例えば、音声データを区分して RTPヘッダ を付加することでの音声パケットの生成、この音声パケットを UDPパケットとして機能 させるための処理等を行う。
また、プロセッサ 22は、電話端末 32との間で符号化方式を決定する符号化方式決 定部としても機能する。
なお、ネットワーク IZF21とプロセッサ 22とが一体的に構成されたネットワークプロ セッサを用いることが可能である。
[0025] 音声パケット蓄積部 23は、ハードディスクや半導体メモリ等の記憶手段で構成され 、ネットワーク IZF21で受信された音声パケットを蓄積する。このとき、受信された音 声パケットがそのまま音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積される。
即ち、受信した音声パケット中の音声データは、その符号ィ匕方式の変換が行われ な 、。これは音声パケットの受信時における音声データの符号化方式の変換を不要 として、第 1、第 2、第 3データ変換部 24— 26での変換能力を回線数に対応させる必 要を無くすことで、高価な DSPの個数等の低減を可能とするためである。
[0026] 例えば、電話端末 32から送信されネットワーク IZF21で受信した音声パケットが U
DP、 RTPヘッダ、 G729方式の音声データを含む場合に、音声パケット蓄積部 23に は RTPヘッダ、 G729方式の音声データを含む音声パケットが蓄積される。なお、 U
DPのデータはプロセッサ 22で除去することができる。
[0027] 音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声パケットは、符号ィ匕方式が送信を希望し た電話端末 32と合致したときには、符号変換を行うことなくネットワーク IZF21から送 信される。
例えば、 RTPヘッダ、 G729方式の音声データを含む音声パケットが音声パケット 蓄積部 23に蓄積されている場合に、 UDP、 RTPヘッダ、 G729方式の音声データを 含む音声パケットがネットワーク I/F21から電話端末 32に送信される。なお、 UDP のデータの付カ卩はプロセッサ 22で行うことができる。
[0028] 音声パケット蓄積部 23は、蓄積される音声パケットを管理するための音声パケット 管理テーブルをも記憶する。
図 2は、音声パケット管理テーブルの内容の一例を表す図である。
図 2に示した音声パケット管理テーブルには、受信側識別情報、送信側識別情報、 符号方式種別情報、パケット識別情報が対応して表される。
[0029] 「受信側識別情報」は、音声データが受信 (再生)される電話端末 32を表す情報、 例えば、電話番号である。受信側識別情報で表される受信側の電話端末 32は、音 声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声パケットの送信要求情報をボイスメール装置 2 0に送信することで、ボイスメール装置 20に蓄積された音声パケットを送信させる。そ の結果、音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声データ (ボイスメール)を再生し、伝 言内容を確認することができる。
[0030] 「送信側識別情報」は、音声データが送信 (録音)される電話端末 32を表す情報、 例えば、電話番号である。送信側識別情報で表される送信側の電話端末 32は、通 話相手の電話端末 32との通話が開始されないときに (例えば、相手が不在、話し中 のとき)、伝言等を音声パケットとしてボイスメール装置 20に送信し、音声パケット蓄 積部 23に蓄積させて、後に相手に確認させることができる。
[0031] 「符号種別情報」は、音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積される音声パケットの音声デー タの符号ィ匕方式の種別(G711、 G729、 G723. 1等)を識別するための情報である
「パケット識別情報」は、音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積される音声パケットを識別す るための情報である。
なお、一連の音声データは複数の音声パケットに分割されるのが通例であるが、こ の「音声パケット識別情報」は、先頭の音声パケットを指定できれば足りる。先頭の音 声パケットが示されれば、どれが後続の音声パケットが判るのが通例だ力もである。
[0032] 第 1一第 3データ変換部 24— 26は、音声データの符号変換を行う。具体的には、 第 1データ変換部 24は、 G711符号化音声データを PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) 符号化音声データに、またその逆に PCM符号ィ匕音声データを G711符号ィ匕音声デ ータへと変換する。第 2データ変換部 25は、 G729符号ィ匕音声データを PCM符号 化音声データに、またその逆に PCM符号ィ匕音声データを G729符号ィ匕音声データ へと変換する。第 3データ変換部 26は、 G723. 1符号化音声データを PCM符号ィ匕 音声データに、またその逆に PCM符号化音声データを G723. 1符号化音声データ へと変換する。
[0033] ここで、 G711符号ィ匕音声データ、 G729符号ィ匕音声データ、 G723. 1符号化音声 データは音声パケットとして、パケットバス 28から入出力される。また、 PCM符号化音 声データは PCMバス 29から入出力される。
[0034] 第 1、第 2、第 3データ変換部 24— 26による符号ィ匕方式の変換は、音声パケット蓄 積部 23に蓄積された音声パケット中の音声データと送信する音声パケット中の音声 データとの符号化方式が異なる場合に行われる。例えば、音声パケット蓄積部 23〖こ 蓄積された音声パケットの音声データが G729符号ィ匕方式で、ネットワーク IZF21か ら送信される音声パケット中の音声データが G723. 1符号ィ匕方式の場合に、符号ィ匕 方式の変換が行われる。

プロセッサ 22によって、音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声パケット中力も G7 29符号化音声データが分離される。分離された G729符号化音声データがパケット バス 28から第 2データ変換部 25に入力され、 PCM符号ィ匕音声データに変換されて PCMバス 29に出力される。変換された PCM符号化音声データが PCMバス 29から 第 3データ変換部 26に入力され、 G723. 1符号ィ匕音声データに変換されてパケット バス 28に出力される。変換された G723. 1符号化音声データは、プロセッサ 22によ つて RTPヘッド、 UDP処理データが付加され、ネットワーク IZF21から電話端末 32 へと送信される。

例えば、同一内容の音声データを G711符号ィ匕音声データ、 G729符号化音声デ ータ、 G723. 1符号ィ匕音声データとして蓄積する。このように同一内容の音声データ を異なる符号ィ匕方式で蓄積することで、送信時での符号変換を不要として速やかな データ送信が可能となる。
[0037] 音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積された音声データは、ボイスメール装置 20から電話端 末 32へのサービス音声の提供に用いることができる。このサービス音声の内容の例 として、着信相手の不在等の通知、ボイスメールによる伝言サービスの提供の通知、 発声の促し、録音の終了の通知等が挙げられる。
[0038] なお、音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積された音声データは、サービス音声以外に、通 常のボイスメール用の音声データとして用いることも可能である。また、音声データ蓄 積部 27は、第 1、第 2、第 3データ変換部 24— 26で変換された音声データ (伝言等 のためのボイスメール)を記憶することができる。この結果、変換、送信された音声デ ータを再度送信するときに、再度の変換が不要となり、速や力なサービスの提供が可 能となる。
[0039] 音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積される音声データは、電話端末 32から送信することが できる。例えば、電話端末 32から UDP、 RTPヘッダ、符号化音声データを含む音声 パケットを送信する。同一内容で異なる符号化方式の音声データ (G711符号化音 声データ、 G729符号ィ匕音声データ、 G723. 1符号化音声データ)を電話端末 32か ら送信すればよい。 音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積される音声データは、入力装置 33から UDP、 RTPへ ッダ、符号ィ匕音声データを含む音声パケットを送信してもよ 、。

以下に電話システム 10の動作を説明する。
図 3は、電話システム 10の動作手順の一例を表すフロー図である。なお、この図は ボイスメール装置 20の動作を中心に表して!/、る。
(1)電話端末 32から送信された音声パケットがボイスメール装置 20で受信される (ス テツプ S 11)。
ここで送信される音声パケットは、伝言等のためのボイスメールとして送信される。例 えば、ある電話端末 32が他の電話端末 32と通話を行おうとしたときに、受信側の電 話端末 32から応答がなく通話を行えな力つたときに、音声のメッセージをボイスメー ル装置 20に録音しておくために行われる。
[0041] 通常、この録音に先立って、相手 (受信側の電話端末 32)からの応答がないことが 送信側の電話端末 32に通知され、音声のメッセージの発声が促される。このメッセ一 ジに応じて送信側の電話端末 32で発せられた音声が音声パケットとしてボイスメー ル装置 20に送信される。
なお、発声の促し等を音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積される音声データを用いること ができる。
[0042] (2)ボイスメール装置 20のネットワーク IZF21で受信された音声パケットは、音声デ ータの変換が行われることなぐ音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積される (ステップ S12)
。このときに、音声パケット管理テーブルが適宜に更新される。
[0043] (3)受信側の電話端末 32は、自分宛のボイスメールがあることを知り、そのボイスメー ルの再生を要求する音声再生要求を送信する (ステップ S 13)。この音声再生要求は
、ボイスメール装置 20で受信される。
なお、ボイスメールの存在の通知は、例えば、ボイスメール装置 20から電話端末 32 のランプの点滅を指示する情報を送信し、その指示に基づいて電話端末 32のランプ が点滅することで行える。
[0044] (4)音声再生要求の要求元の電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号方式が判らなけ れば、ボイスメール装置 20は要求元の電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号方式の 通知を要求する符号種別送信要求を電話端末 32に送信する (ステップ S14、 S15) 。即ち、 CODECのネゴシエーションが開始される。
(5)この要求に応じて、要求元の電話端末 32から利用可能な音声符号方式を表す 符号種別情報が送信され、ボイスメール装置 20で受信される (ステップ S16)。
[0045] (6)音声パケット蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声パケット (ボイスメール)での音声符号化 方式が要求元の電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号方式と一致すれば、音声バケツ ト蓄積部 23に蓄積された音声パケットがそのまま送信される (ステップ S17、 S19)。 また、これらの音声符号ィ匕方式が一致しない場合には、第 1、第 2、第 3データ変換 部 24— 26により要求元の電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号方式への変換が行わ れる(ステップ S 18)。

なお、このようにして変換、送信された音声データは音声データ蓄積部 27に蓄積し ておくことができる。このようにすることで、電話端末 32から同一の音声データの音声 再生要求がなされたときに、音声符号ィ匕方式の変換を行うことなく送信が可能となり、 より速やかなサービスの提供が可能となる。
[0047] (7)ステップ S 14で音声再生要求の要求元の電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号方 式が判れば、その音声符号方式での音声データを含む音声パケットが送信される。 これは、例えば、ボイスメール装置 20が電話端末 32を識別する端末識別情報 (例 えば、電話番号)とその電話端末 32で利用可能な音声符号化方式との対応関係を 表すテーブルを保持するような場合である。
なお、音声パケットの送信は RTP (Real time Transport Protocol)を用いて送信す ることができる。 RTPに換えて、音声データをファイルとして送信することも可能であり 、この場合にはステップ S 13での「音声再生要求」は「ファイル転送要求」を意味する ことになる。

前記受信部で受信された前記第 1の符号化方式の音声データを含む音声パケット を記憶するパケット記憶部と、
前記パケット記憶部に記憶された音声パケットを第 2の電話端末に送信する送信部 と、
を具備するボイスメール装置。
[2] 前記第 2の電話端末と交信して、音声データの符号化方式を決定する符号化方式 決定部、をさらに具備し、
前記決定された符号化方式が前記第 1の符号化方式であるときに、前記送信部が 前記記憶された音声パケットを第 2の電話端末に送信する

[3] 前記第 2の電話端末と交信して、音声データの符号化方式を決定する符号化方式 決定部と、

前記第 2の符号化方式の音声データを記憶する第 2の音声データ記憶部と、 前記第 2の電話端末と交信して、音声データの符号化方式を決定する符号化方式 決定部と、 前記符号化方式決定部での決定に基づき、前記第 1、第 2の音声データ記憶部を 切り換えて音声データを選択する音声データ選択部と、
前記音声データ選択部で選択された音声データを音声パケットに変換するパケット 変換部と、
前記パケット変換部で変換された音声パケットを送信するパケット送信部と、 をさらに具備する請求項 1記載のボイスメール装置。
