Definitions

  • This invention relates to refrigerators, and in particular has application in both domestic and commercial refrigerators.
  • Typical refrigerators are accessed via a door which could be hinged either on the left or right hand side with a vertical axis. Opening the door to the refrigerator, reveals the refrigeration compartment, which usually includes a number of shelves most of which are made in the form of a grille, usually metal with a plastic coating. These shelves are used for placement of items in the refrigerator.
  • This invention has as its object, the provision of improvements inefficiency of operation of such refrigerators.

However, the seal that extends along the lower surface of the upper door 27, is arranged to contact against the facing surface of the lip 33 on the lower door 29, and thereby provide a seal between the upper door and the lower door, assisting in the sealing of the refrigeration compartment 15.
