Abstract
The invention concerns a simple-design device for carrying a mug around the neck with its dispensing support. The invention is characterized in that it consists in using only one single cord for producing a mug-holder and in storing said mug-holders on a support which facilitates the placement of the mug-holder on the mug. The mug-holder consists of a cord (1) whereof the ends (13) are mutually assembled. Each end (2) of the cord is fixed while overlapping the other end. The space thus formed between the overlap is designed for placing the mug. The dispensing support (5) consists of a vertical tube with a support at its base for vertical support. The mug-holders (10) are stacked on the outside of a tube for storage. The mug-holder is fixed on a mug, by simply placing the mug (12) on the top of the tube and pulling (11) upwards to cause the cord to slide up to the mug. The inventive device is particularly designed for fast food service.
Description
The present invention relates to a simple design of a cup holder placed around the neck and of its dispensing support. The invention is mainly intended for fast food due to the rates of fast service and the use of quality and economical disposable products. Indeed on the market, there are already a few drink cup holders arranged around the neck and which free the hands. However, these devices use several elements for their design such as a cord or strip passed around the neck, a system for holding the cup in rigid or elastic or adhesive form or in the form of a belt and a connection for connecting the elements together. In addition, no practical system exists which makes it possible both to store a certain quantity of cup holder and to quickly and easily insert a cup in a cup holder. The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. The cup holder is made up of a single flexible strip about one meter long for adults. The length is determined according to the size of the person (child or adult). Each end of the strip overlaps the other end. The length of the overlap is determined by half the circumference of the cup to be worn. The ends of the two overlapping ends are attached to the other part of the strip. The cup is positioned in the space thus formed by the overlap of the strip and in the other closed part of the strip, the neck of the person is passed. The drawing in Figure 1 attached illustrates the invention and shows the overlap of the strip and the positions of the fasteners to form the location of the cup. With reference to this figure, the device comprises a strip (1) whose two ends (2) overlap and are fixed (4) at their ends to the other part of the strip. The conical shape of the cup allows it to be kept in the space (3) formed between the two fasteners (4). The other closed part (5) of the strip (1) is passed around the person's neck. According to the embodiments, the strip (1) may as well be a ribbon or a string. In addition, the attachments (4) of the ends (2) are made by welding or heat-bonding or gluing (the type of attachment is not limiting). The subtlety of the invention therefore lies in the use of a single strip for the entire production. The cup holder distribution support is made up of a vertical tube 30 cm high (the height of the tube depends on the number of cup holders that you want to have on the support). The base of the tube is placed on a base for the vertical hold and the stability of the tube. On the outside of the tube, the cup holders are stacked and the tube passes into the space (3) intended to receive the cup. The outer circumference of the tube is slightly less than the circumference of the space of the cup holder intended to receive the cup. The inner circumference of the tube corresponds approximately to the circumference of the mid-height of the cup. The different circumferences must be adapted to the size of the cup. To put the cup holder around the cup from the support, the cup is placed on the support tube. The conical shape of the cup allows it to be held halfway up in the tube.
Then pull up on the first strip placed on the support from the location intended to pass the person's neck. The strip slides along the tube and is positioned on the cone of the cup. The drawing in Figure 2 illustrates the dispensing support for the cup holder. The tube (9) is placed vertically, the top of the tube is intended to receive the cup in the space (6). The edge (8) at the top of the tube can be chamfered to match the angle of the cup cone. The lower part of the tube has a base (7) for the stability of the tube. The base can be conical or any other shape. The distribution support is made of plastic material by molding but can completely be made of another material with another manufacturing technique. The drawing of Figure 3 illustrates the whole of the invention. The distribution support (5) receives on the outside of the tube the cup holders to be stored (10) awaiting their use. The dispensing support passes through the space (3) of the cup holder. To put a cup on a cup holder (1), place a cup (12) on the dispensing support (5). The cup sinks into the tube about halfway up (a stopper under the cup not shown in the drawing can be installed to limit the sinking of the cup) then the cup holder is slid along the dispensing support by exerting an upward force (1 1). The cup holder (1) locks onto the cup cone (12) and extracts it from the dispensing support (5). Then simply pass the cup holder around a person's neck.
