Abstract

L'invention a trait à un procédé permettant de former un flux lumineux spatialement homogène, collimaté, possédant successivement un spectre de fréquences de base, qui sert à former une image en couleur. L'on forme ledit flux lumineux directement dans une source lumineuse, en excitant, à l'aide d'impulsions à amplitude contrôlée, des transitions rayonnantes réparties dans le volume de rayonnement d'éléments rayonnants, dont le rendement lumineux est nécessaire au confort de visualisation d'une image sur un écran externe possédant une surface largement supérieure à celle du modulateur de lumière, et qui émettent successivement de la lumière dans des intervalles spectraux étroits correspondant aux couleurs primaires. L'on régule le flux lumineux ainsi généré en synchronisant les processus d'extraction des composantes spectrales du flux lumineux tout en contrôlant simultanément son niveau de clarté, et en procédant à sa modulation spatiale à l'aide d'un modulateur de flux lumineux.
