Definitions

  • the present invention relates to open ceilings that are located in motor vehicles and more specifically to their driving mechanism, and within the models that fold and slide in their opening or closing movement through the interior of the roof of the vehicle.
  • a problem to solve in this type of open ceilings is to achieve the tightness, when the roof is in the closed position and the vehicle is running, and without this limit neither the mobility of the opening roof panel nor as a consequence neither the possibilities of regulation of the opening of the same.
  • the most used method to solve the problem of sealing in these folding-sliding roofs on the inside consists in the placement of a water evacuation system by means of a series of evacuation means such as gutter areas and canals, mobile or fixed, around the perimeter of the mobile panel that conduct the water towards evacuation tubes that expel it to the outside of the vehicle.
  • this solution has drawbacks, especially those derived from the incorporation of the channels, fixed or mobile, as elements added to the whole of the open ceiling and the free space that all these devices require both for handling and for Your location
  • the invention aims at a mechanism for actuating the panel of open ceilings, as well as the corresponding kinematics, which makes it possible to dispense with the water evacuation system and the associated elements, achieving a completely sealed and more efficient closure in the closed position.
  • Said mechanism consists of two pairs of cars, two of them tractors and the other two of support and guidance and two other moving parts, one of them being the mobile panel of the open roof, which is usually a glass moon, and the other a metal or plastic frame on which said panel rests, interrelating the movement of both by means of a pin that acts as a mechanical follower.
