Um derartige Explosionen der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie zu vermeiden, ist bei der gattungsgemäßen DE 101 61 566 die Abdeckung der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie elektrisch leitend ausgebildet und direkt mit dem Minuspol der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie verbunden. Diese Verbindung kann hierbei entweder durch ein zwischen dem Minuspol der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie und der Abdeckung angeordnetes isolierendes Kabel oder durch eine am Minuspol der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie unverlierbar angebrachte, elektrisch kontaktierend an der Abdeckung anliegende Kontaktfeder realisiert sein. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Kraftfahrzeugbatterie anzugeben, bei der ein Schutz vor den Folgen elektrostatischer Aufladung auf einfache Weise und kostengünstig ermöglicht wird. Zur Fixierung der Abdeckung 2 mit der Kraftfahr- zeugbatterie 1 sind auf der Längsseite 9 der Abdeckung 2 bsp. als Befestigungsklammern ausgebildete Befestigungsmittel 10 vorgesehen, bsp. auf jeder Längsseite 9 der Abdeckung 2 zwei Befestigungsklammern 10, die auf der Unterseite 11 des Batteriedeckels 7 den Batteriedeckel 7 klammern. Weiterhin ist auf der Unterseite 4 der Abdeckung 2 im Bereich der Kontaktierungslasche 5 eine Rippe 13 ausgebildet, die zur Justierung der Abdeckung 2 bezüglich der Längsrichtung 12 der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie 1 dient. Beim Aufbringen (Auflegen bzw. Aufschieben) der Abdeckung 2 auf den Batteriedeckel 7 wirkt diese Rippe 13 als Anschlag und gewährleistet hier- durch, dass die Kontaktierungslasche 5 wie gewünscht im Bereich des Minuspols 3 der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie 1 positioniert ist und hierdurch den Minuspol 3 der Kraftfahrzeugbatterie 1 zuverlässig kontaktiert und somit ggf. vorhandene elektrostatische Aufladungen zuverlässig nach Masse ableitet.
