Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfndung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von transgenen Pflanzen und/oder Pflanzenzellen mit einem erhöhten Vitamin E-Gehalt, wobei die transgenen Pflanzen bzw. Pflanzenzellen einen im Vergleich zum Wildtyp veränderten Gehalt und/oder Aktivität an Serin-Acetyltransferase (SAT) und/oder einen veränderten Gehalt an Thiol-Verbindungen aufweisen. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ebenfalls die Verwendung von Nukleinsäuren, die für eine SAT kodieren, zur Herstellung von transgenen Pflanzen bzw. Pflanzenzellen mit einem erhöhten Vitamin E-Gehalt. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Vitamin E durch Kultivierung von transgenen Pflanzen bzw. Pflanzenzellen, die einen im Vergleich zum Wildtyp veränderten Gehalt an SAT aufweisen.
