Abstract

A method of modifying an output signal (34) of an electronic engine control unit (32) controllable connected to an internal combustion engine, including receiving at least one sensor signal (12.6, 12.8), representative of an engine performance parameter, from at least one sensor, modifying the sensor signal (12.2, 12.4) by means of a control algorithm (44, 46), and sending to an input of an engine control unit (32) the modified sensor signal (14). The engine control unit (32) output signal (34) is thereby varied to modify the performance of the engine, via the engine control unit (32).
