Abstract

A vacuum cleaner (1) comprising an adaptator (4) which connects the suction hose (2) to the dust bag (3). The adaptator (4) is a rigid structure, produced as one piece, with design details which improve the impermeability during the transfer of the dirty air into the dust bag (3), thereby affecting the performance of the vacuum cleaner in a favorable way. The adaptator (4) can be attached to and detached from both the suction nose (2) and dust bag (3) easily by the user.

Description

VACUUM CLEANER
This invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising an adaptor which provides the dust bag to be placed into the suction hose. In the prior art, disposable dust bags are used in the vacuum cleaners to collect dust during the filtration of the air. The dust bags are usually in the form of a paper bag made of paper placed on a cardboard collar and inserted into the dust suction chambers within the vacuum cleaners. During the dust bag is placed into the vacuum cleaner, the dust inlet is attached to the dust suction hose directly or via the adaptor means. Since impermeability is not sufficiently achieved during the transfer of the dirty air into the dust bag, suction efficiency decreases and in order to prevent this adaptor members reinforced with sealing means are used.
In UK patent application No. GB2033248, a vacuum cleaner comprising a comiection plate between the suction hose and dust bag and sealing means of various rubber and plastic types produced separately and fixed on the connection plate for the impermeability is disclosed. hi German patent application No. DE3915154, a sealing means in a resilient tubular shape fixed on a connection plate extending from the inlet of the connection plate to the inside of the dust bag and covering the periphery diameter of the inlet of suction hose is preferably used.
In US patent No. US5092915, a perpendicular vacuum cleaner in which there is a sealing extension in one end of the adaptor, used between suction hose and dust bag, covering the suction hose and ensuring the impermeability is disclosed. The object of this invention is to produce a vacuum cleaner comprising an easy to use adaptor and be produced connecting the suction hose and dust bag within a rigid and sealed structure.
The vacuum cleaner produced according to the object of this invention is described with reference to the attached drawings: Figure 1, is the perspective view of an adaptor mounted on the vacuum cleaner, Figure 2, is the cross sectional view of an adaptor mounted on the vacuum cleaner,
Figure 3, is the cross sectional view of an adaptor,
Figure 4, is the perspective view of the surface where a dust bag is attached,
Figure 5, is the perspective view of the surface where a suction hose is attached,
Figure 6, is the perspective view of the cross section of the attachment of both an adaptor and suction hose and the view before the adaptor is fixed on the lower body and suction hose is fixed to the adaptor inlet.
The parts in drawings correspond to the following items:
I . Vacuum cleaner
2. Suction hose
3 Dust bag 4 Adaptor 5 Lower body 6 Adaptor outlet 7 Adaptor inlet 8 Outer sealing extension 9 Inner sealing extension
10. Projection
I I . Detent means 12. Outer housing
13. Inner housing Vacuum cleaners (1) comprise a suction hose (2) which transfers the air and dust into the vacuum cleaner (1), a dust bag (3) to receive and collect dust during the filtration of the air, an adaptor (4) having an adaptor inlet (7) to attach the suction hose (2) and an adaptor outlet (6) where the dust bag (3) is attached and a lower body (5) where the adaptor (4) is placed.
Adaptor (4) comprises an outer sealing extension (8) providing the impermeability with the lower body (5) and an outer housing (12) onto which lower body (5) is fitted, an inner sealing extension (9) providing the impermeability with suction hose (2) and an inner housing (13) onto which the suction hose (2) is fitted.
In a preferred embodiment, outer sealing extension (8) covers the outer surface of adaptor inlet (7) in the form of a ring. The cross section of the ring is annular when viewed from the surface of adaptor (4) where the suction hose (2) is attached and it is a hollow truncated cone when viewed from three dimension.
In a preferred embodiment, inner sealing extension (9) covers the inner surface of adaptor outlet (6) in the form of a ring. The cross section of the ring is annular when viewed from the surface of adaptor (4) where the dust bag (3) is attached and it is a hollow truncated cone when viewed from three dimension.
Lower body (5) comprises one or more projection (10) which impede the rotation and provide snap fit assembly of the adaptor (4).
Adaptor (4) comprises one or more detent means (11) provided on the adaptor inlet (7) and to be mounted by being locked onto the lower body (5) by means of the projections (10).
For the assembly of the adaptor (4) to the vacuum cleaner (1) the adaptor inlet (7) is attached to the lower body (5) by pushing the adaptor (4). The detent means (11) in the adaptor inlet (7) provide locking by means of projections (10), thus impede the rotation of adaptor (4). The lower part (5) is fixed onto the outer housing (12), therefore the impermeability between the adaptor (4) and lower body (5) is ensured. Following the attachment of suction hose (2) to the adaptor inlet (7), it is fixed on the inner housing (13) and the impermeability between the adaptor (4) and suction hose (2) is provided as well.
The adaptor (4) easily attached and detached by the user is preferably made of plastic material provides a rigid and impermeable structure to the cleaner (1).
During the assembly the adaptor (4) provides an impermeably sealed structure by means of outer sealing extension (8) and inner sealing extension (7).
As a result of the increase impermeability, dirty air and dust are transferred to the dust bag (3) with minimum leakage and affects the performance of the vacuum cleaner (1) in favorable way.
